THE COUNTERATTACK

The tension in the air was palpable as Marcus and his team regrouped in a narrow alley, their breath coming in quick bursts after the earlier skirmish. They had fought hard, but the shadow of the terrorists loomed larger than ever.

"Marcus, we can't let our guard down," Evelyn warned, scanning the surroundings. "They're planning something big, and we need to be ready."

"I know," Marcus replied, still trying to catch his breath. "But we need a breather. We can't afford to push ourselves into a trap."

Just then, a loud explosion echoed through the streets, rattling the windows of nearby buildings. The ground shook beneath them, and dust and debris rained down from above.

“What the hell was that?” shouted Max, one of their former teammates, as he stumbled back against the wall, eyes wide.

“I think they’re hitting back,” Evelyn said, her voice tense. “We need to move—now!”
