48: Suspension

Everyone started to chant Kevin's name again. They were so happy at the turn of things. They thought it was trouble when Nathan showed up with Jack again.

Kevin stood up and smirked. “You better leave before I change my mind.”

Nathan regarded him for a moment, stood, and rushed out of the vicinity. Jack hurried after him.

“Mr. Kevin,” an old man of sixties called suddenly, a smile on his face. “Thank you so much for coming to help us. We all appreciate it,” he said sincerely.

Kevin reciprocated his smile. “You shouldn't be bothered about them again. The Watson's family will no longer participate in the demolition. So, you have nothing to worry about,” he assured.

Everyone whooped in delight.

“And because of this, we will like to entertain you to express our gratitude.”

“Oh, that won't be necessary,“ Kevin started to say.

More men walked out. “Please. It's to show how grateful we are. Please, don't say no.”

Kevin smiled and widened. “It's ok. I will tag then.”
