CHAPTER SEVEN

The CEO announced that he didn't want to see anyone for today, so Don couldn't see the CEO today but he will surely come the next day just like Mark.

The receptionist couldn't hold her laughter as she was mocking Don as he was leaving and she was also busy admiring Mark who didn't show any interest in her whatsoever.

Mark and his uncle went into their car and were waiting to tease Don before he entered into his Car and left. “Hey …man I can see your car is all banged up, why don't you hop with us in our vehicle.” Mark said, laughing all the way into his car.

Don walked to his car and stood by the side thinking of what his next move is going to be and how is going to keep his marriage going with Roselyn, she is his key to his uncompleted mission and success.

He went into his car and got a few missed calls from his secretary so he decided to call her back. “I have some information about your parent report,”she said quietly.

“Tell me.” Don said looking at the huge company.

The Herbal Rise company was in partnership with your father, they offered him a fake business proposal which made him lose his position in his job. 

Hearing this bad news made Don so furious and he decided to go home and claim himself down. While he was resting on his couch and thinking of what to do next to his current problem, he heard a knock coming from his door.

There was nobody at the door but he saw a balloon and a letter lying on the floor, he knew it was from Roselyn. “I am really sorry for what had happened before and what Is happening now, I promise it will be okay soon. I hope you forgive me while you enjoy the box of chocolates.” That's what the letter said.

He decided that he needed to clear his head with some shots so he went to his bar that is owned by his friend. Don was at the bar side trying to drink his pain away.

“One more shot……, Don said, tapping his glass continuously.”

“But sir…you have already taken nine shots already, I think you need to slow things down.”

Don sat down with his face down without knowing what to do. He came across Mark at the counter with two ladies, one of his lap and the other sitting beside him.

Don walked up to Mark, Mark was shocked seeing Don coming before he could utter a word. Don approached him with a slap across his face which left him bleeding.

“How dare you, come to the club with ladies and you want to marry Roselyn, just wait for the family you hear about your disgusting act.”He yelled.

“Try all you what ... .but no one will believe you, I am like a god to the family.” Don left his collar and left the place without saying a word.

Mark vowed not to allow Don to win the competition and promised to make his life a living hell.

Don went to the company the next morning and saw the annoying receptionist and Mark and his uncle waiting for the CEO reply. He decided not to say a word to Mark Because he is still annoyed with his action yesterday.

He sat on the couch and he took his phone and called the CEO, “I am sorry Mr Don I will be out in just a minute please exercise patience please.”CEO said.

The receptionist looked at Don with disdain and couldn't hold her laughter. “You look bigger than a businessman. I hope my boss won't be disappointed when he sees you here.

Mark couldn't hold his laughter so he decided to join in the insult which had been raining on Don. “Yeah I'd listen to the receptionist if I were you. He said.  The receptionist became more attracted to Don after hearing all that he said about her.

Someone of your stature and status doesn't belong in a place like this, Mark chuckled arrogantly.

“If I would start going through my business proposal if I were you.” Don said with a smile despite being insulted so many times.

The receptionist sneered at Don , “why don't you run along before I have the security remove you from this place?

Then Don sneered back at her and replied, “why don't you find yourself a boyfriend and stop chasing someone who doesn't notice you for a second?”

She didn't have a reply for that. I decided to stay quiet and calm to watch what will happen when the CEO arrives.

Don ... .this is a place for important people with Money looks like you have none. Mark said, laughing at him.

Just then, the CEO came out rushing out, looking flustered,  everyone remained quiet to hear what he wanted to say. 

My apologies ….Mr Don, I am sorry to have kept you waiting for so long. He quickly Ushered Don towards his office. It looked like the CEO didn't notice the presence of Mark and his Uncle.

The receptionist's mocking expression turned to one of shock and expression and embarrassment. Mark and his uncle's jaws dropped, stunned that the powerful CEO was treating a beggar with such reverence.

I hope the environment was comfortable for you sir, the CEO said to Don.

As Don walked past them, he couldn't resist a condescending strike at the dumb founded Mark. “I will be sure to send your resume to the mailroom guy. They might have an open position. Well for you Mrs receptionist…

Your days at this office are numbered. He said.

Don followed the CEO into his office leaving a humiliated Mark and receptionist gasping behind him.

Mark started racking his brain on what to do as he couldn't stand what just happened in his presence. While the receptionist started looking down at Mark and his uncle as he started seeing them as nothing in Don's presence
