Chapter 11

Learning about Robert seemed easy until this moment, when I'm faced with over a hundred men and I am to address them in Robert's style.

"it feels great to be back. I'm thankful that you all remained faithful and loyal to me, and for that, I'll reward you in a special way." I turned to look at Naomi, who gave me a nod to indicate that I was doing okay.

I cleared my throat as I continued to speak. "After my accident, I learned that the Mikaelsons are not the only enemies I have. I still do not know anything about whoever attacked me, but I will make sure to get whoever it is and, when I do, I will tear every one of them apart."

The gang shouted and jubilated at my words. I stretched my hands out in a stop motion, and everywhere became silent once more.

"I need everyone to spread out and look for a doctor. He helped me profoundly, and I would love to repay his kindness. His name is Ronald Anderson, a doctor at the Life for Life hospital. He disappeared a few days before the hospital's total shutdown. He was of tremendous help to me way back, and I need to find him."

"Yes, boss," they echoed.

One of Robert's men walked up to me. "Be rest assured, Robert, he will definitely be found."

I nodded in appreciation.

Another of Robert's men walked up to me again. He stared at me and then at Naomi. "I thought she would have escaped immediately if she knew you were in an accident, but she's still here, looking different and calm. Don't you find it suspicious?" he asked, staring right at Naomi.

I cleared my throat and told him confidently, "I may have been down, but I had eyes and ears everywhere, and with my hold on her, she dare not try escaping."

After the little reunion was done, Naomi and Victor came up to me.

"What do you think you just did, Myres?" Victor came at me sharply. "Who is Ronald, and why didn't you discuss this with any of us?"

"Did Robert ever seek your permission to do anything?" I asked. "Why are you being all nosy? If I'm working for you guys, at least I should benefit from it, right? And I really need to find Ronald to uncover whatever happened at my hospital. I need to know who screwed me over, and I think I would be able to do that fully with your help. So, please help me."

Victor's face was fuming with anger, but he had no choice but to stay calm. "Alright, fine, but next time, inform us of whatever you want to do."

"Thanks," I said, and he looked at me surprisingly before walking off. A few steps down, he looked back and said, "Robert never thanked anyone, take note of that."

I stood staring at Naomi, who only nodded in agreement.

"Come with me, let's get you familiarized with this place," she said.

As we took a stroll, Naomi kept pointing and showing me different places and areas, and most of their hideouts. The men that passed by couldn't help but notice Naomi's new behavior and Robert's calm side.

Myres had pointed out on their way back that he wasn't sure if he could act as Robert for long, and Naomi could now see why. No matter how he tried to act fierce, he was nothing like Robert - the way he held her softly, the way he cracked random jokes, and the way he looked at her. Deep down, Myres knew that he had feelings for Naomi, but now wasn't the time to bring it up, so he tried to stay focused.

"You seem to know every nook and cranny of this place," I asked.

"Of course, I do," Naomi replied, stammering. "Ever since...you...I mean, the real Robert, not you...took me from my parents as ransom, I've tried every possible means to escape, but you...that is, Robert...keeps finding me. Sometimes I hide from him in the dungeon.

"Is there a dungeon?" I asked curiously.

Naomi looked scared and hurt just from talking about it. "You definitely don't want to know why I hated him so much. He would molest me, beat me, treat me like trash...until recently, when he changed. But that didn't change how I felt about him. The hate was forever going to be there because the bruises and scars are still here."

I stopped us at a secluded area. I could feel the pain and anguish in her soul, and I just wanted to comfort her. I caressed her cheeks as she stared deep into my soul, and I planted a kiss on her lips, thankful that she didn't push me back.

"I will never treat you like he did. Trust me and help me, please," I said.

"Just so you know, we can never date each other," she said, staring at me. "You only have me now because I'm vulnerable."

I nodded in agreement, and she pulled me in for another kiss
