Chapter 7
Their face was flushed with so much confusion as their gaze returned from Joshua to the strange lady.
"I'm very Sorry manager. I know I should not have allowed him here in the first place." He shivered.
Meanwhile, the eyes of Henry brightened Even more as there was a dark smile hanging on his face.
"Manager?" The words rang in his head again.
He had always heard of the strong lady boss who ruled the greatest business empire in the City but never had he thought that he was going to see her anytime soon, especially in that kind of situation.
This was his one-way ticket of earning the respect g the company and he was not going to let it slip.
Walking toward them, he straightened himself once again and a slight cough escaped from his mouth just to alert everyone about his presence.
"Don't worry ma'am. There is always this kind of situation nowadays and you know what, you don't have to worry about this type of situation, and." Before he could even get to finish the statement that he was trying to make, she shot a deadly sneer at him making him fall backward almost immediately with shock.
"Keep out of something that you know nothing about." She growled and turned around towards Joshua.
"Can I have your card, sir?" She nodded her head and he got the message immediately.
His hands reached out to the card in his coat and he handed it over to her. Her eyes caught a swift glimpse of it and she pointed it over to the card
"Did you even care to examine it? Cause if you did, you would have noticed that it's owed only by VIP."
Their Jaws fell apart with so much shock. At first, Henry wanted to let it slip and stay out of the discussion but after hearing that, he just couldn't hold himself back from interfering anymore.
"I think that you are making a huge mistake here ma'am. Just take a good look at him. Can he even afford a cleaner job here?"
"I wonder if that isn't for you," Evelyn Noted because she had a solid list of all the guest that was going to be in the place and their names were not even on the list.
"That's just way too impossible. He is the CEO and he can get the card without even a blink." He added.
"Yeah, I owe my own company unlike." He sneered at him.
"Will see about that." She added.
She turned around towards the guards and stared at him.
"I think that you are making a huge mistake ma'am, there is certainly no way that we can afford the card." He added.
Cold sweat broke out from the corner of his head praying that the manager was certainly going to consider her decision
"I you saying that I made a mistake after issuing this card myself?" The anger that was littered all over her voice was vivid as she continued to stare at him.
He took a glance at Joshua again still trying hard to believe what he just heard.
"How did you guys get to know each other?"
"I think that should be the least of your worries. He is..." He was about to say but then Joshua stopped him from spilling out the words from her mouth because she already knew what it was that she wanted to say.
"Because I saved her life that is." He chimed him.
Immediately he spat out the Words from his mouth, she chiseled a stare towards his direction, seeking an explanation in her eyes but he only nodded his head.
She knew that there was absolutely nothing that she could do about it now so she just had to play along.
Meanwhile, Henry scoffed right on the point that he was standing even though it was only audible to Evelyn who was standing right beside him.
"I knew it right from the start, the relationship isn't that strong."
The guard was already shivering to the point that he was standing knowing fully well that his boss would never take a joke for what this stranger did.
"Now I get it." He nodded his head walking in between them.
"But it wasn't a big deal, right? Anyone would have done it."
"But he did." Helena scoffed floating in perfectly into the character that Joshua already paved for her.
"That's the reason that I should appreciate him. By getting him a job or even paying for saving someone as Precious as you."
He searched through his pocket for his card trying as hard as he could to make a positive impression of the Lady that was standing before him.
Victoria who had already seen several of his kind already knew the moves but this time it was very different. It seemed to have something personal with her young master and she was going to get to the bottom of it.
Finally, he brought out the card from his pocket and stretched his hands over to Joshua.
"Here is my card. The pin is MY LADY'S BIRTHDAY. Get yourself anything that you want." He added with a smile hanging on his face stretching the words lady.
He could already feel his heart burning with so much rage as he stared at the card and back at the man who was reaching out to him.
Victoria gasped at the sight of it.
'Does he even realize that the man that is standing right before you can buy that card, you and your company?' her eyes widened waiting for what Joshua was going to say about it.
"I think that you should keep it. You need it more than I do." He said pushing the card back.
Henry was flushed with so much embarrassment but he tried as much as he could to force through a smile.
'Wretched dumbass, I am going to make sure that you pay for this.'
"He saved me so I should be the one repaying him. Thanks for the kind gesture though."
His face broke into a smile before he went ahead to give a response.
"You are Very much welcome."
"But it wasn't needed though." She added.
Turning over to the guard her face squeezed into a sudden frown.
"And as for you, you are fire. And don't dare to plead. I am going to get you out of the city if you provoke me." She glared.
The eyes of the man almost shot out his eyes as he already knew the situation of the city labor market.
Random thoughts ran through his mind and for a while he didn't know what to do
He fell to his knees immediately, walking towards his boss who stood just before him with a deadly glare hanging on her face.
"Miss Helena. It would be preferable for you to kill me than to let me out into the city jobless. Please forgive me. I am going to do everything possible to make amends for my mistake." The tears flooded off from his eyes but the young lady that was before hee didn't seem to be moved by any of the show.
"I think that you still don't get it. I'm the one that you wronged."
His eyes ventured towards the point that Joshua was standing and he crawled over to him.
"Please, sir. Forgive me."There was not a single trace of sincerety in his voice as he thought Joshua wasn't any way special and only wanted his job back
Joshua wanted him to know about it. He our off the dark card that was given to him and pulled it over his face.
Meanwhile, Evelyn and Henry were far off and could hardly see anything that was happening over there.
"Young master?" He shivered almost immediately.
"Yeah, you should leave already or you are going into a whole lot of trouble." He replied.
Knowing that there was nothing that he could do now, he walked away from the place.
Meanwhile, Victoria turned over to Evelyn and her newly found boyfriend.
"It's already settled already Mr. And Mrs. So why don't we go in already?" She spilled out.
"Sure." Henry glared at Joshua almost immediately but before he could get to pull away from the place, Joshua stopped him with his hands.
"And what is the meaning of this?" Henry sneered at him.
"Aren't you forgetting something already? The bet! You are supposed to lick the dust off my shoes right?" His eyes farrowed towards him.
"What?" He frowned at him.
"A bet is a bet and I think that the only thing that you should be thinking about is how to save your face." Joshua sneered.
Chapter 8"You know that I am certainly not going to do that right? Licking the dust off your shoes? Do you expect me to catch an infection?" The frown that was hanging on his face was vivid but it only made Joshua smile for a while. But a dark smile only hovered at the side of her s face as he already had his plan perfectly sorted out and he was just going to go on bit by bit."But you made a deal right? Has the CEO of a trustworthy become so deceitful?" He shot a deadly glare at him making Henry's face twitch what a frown Helena's ears itched at the sound of the words and though she was afar, she pulled a swift stop. She walked towards them gradually towards them and pulled a stop right before Henry with a weird expression on her face."What is going on here again?" Her face was clouded with so much curiousity."Did I just hear something or did hear wrong?" There was a strange expression that was hanging on her face.Seeing Helena standing before him, a large lump went down his thr
Evelyn quivered and gritted her teeth at the thought that Joshua was going to be taking glory when he wasn't even worthy licking the dust of the shoes of the heir that everyone had been expecting. Her feet swayed off from the glittering seat that she was sitting on but she was intersected by Henry who shot a strange stare at her before she could get to do anything abnormal."And what are you trying to do?" He shot a demanding stare at her speaking in whispers so as not to bring too much attention to themselves."Do you just want me to watch him take credit for something that he is not...""But it's not in your power to say. Why don't you just allow the management to decide for themselves?" He replied in whispers, trying to seat her back but she was not ready to give up on her quest."No, I can't. And besides, if we stand up for them now, don't you think that is going to be a plus on our side?" She inquired further with her hands running through the outlines of her heir to make sure t
"Could he be that he is the one that we have been expecting all this while?" Whispers went all around the hall as heads rolled side by side."That's certainly not possible. How can this poor punk amount to anything." Henry thought in his head as a slight scoff fizzled out of his mouth.Joshua drew closer to the central mic as a slight cough escaped from his mouth bringing everyone in the hall into a sudden calm."Hey everyone. I'm sorry to say this but I am not the one that you are expecting. I met the heir on my way to this place and I was pre-formed that he would not be able to attend anymore due to an emergency." He revealed. "But how come a poor-looking man had to get such information instead of his secretary?" He heard someone whispering under their breath."The number of the secretary wasn't going through and since I was already making my way here, he just decided to do the needfuls." Joshua explained further hoping that no one was going to question him any further. And ju
With a sudden rush of strength, the dizziness in his eyes steamed off immediately as he rushed towards the bath room to take his clothes. His heart raced fast as he got into some casual clothes, hurrying as much as he could. He thought about the driver taking him to the hospital but that was going to delay him even further so he decided to get a cab insteadJoshua boarded a cab and rode to the place and soon, the glaring height of the specialist hospital was right from him.Coming down from the car, he walked swiftly towards it and tried to get his way into the hospital but he was cut off by a really strange hand. His eyes stormed upwards slowly only for them to meet with someone familiar. "What's going on here?" He Inquired staring right into the eyes of the security officer who flung a stare at him."Excuse you lame brat." The security officer shot a deadly glare at him almost immediately."What are you here to do? Beg for treatments? Do you realize where this place is? It's a spe
A pattern of feet emerged from the other end of the room large hall The stranger who walked into the place stormed out from the office of the head doctor while the doctor followed him closely from behind with his speedometer firmly around his neck.Without hesitation, Joshua turned towards the doctor and shot a stare at him, abandoning the receptionist and the security agent.Without a single trace of hesitation, the doctor pulled his eyes away from him as though he was on a way with him, transferring his stare to the security officer and the receptionist. And his stare said. "How the hell did he get in here?"Joshua could already see the swift connection in their eyes as a strange shiver went down the spine of the security officer when the receptionist pointed towards him."I tried to." He was about to say but the doctor only raised his hands, preventing him from spitting words out from his mouth and making him shiver even more.Joshua returned his gaze to the doctor with a strange
He brought out the phone towards his face and punched some series of numbers on it while everyone continued to watch him with some sense of mockery or pity in their eyes."Let's just go somewhere else." His mother was trying to say knowing what he was capable of doing even with a single call but he only smiled at her tapping her on the shoulders with love in his eyes."Mami, it's already come to the time when you should stop worrying about me and it should be the other way around now." He replied as he stared at her with so much love and affection in his eyes, making her smile a little bit as memories of the past flashed in her head."He is not the young Joshua that I used to know. He is now my young master." He said to himself. He placed a call across the Victoria and she picked up the phone as though she was already waiting for it."Good day, sir." She was the first to greet swiftly."Good day, Victoria. Are you really busy with anything? I need your help urgently." He said. A stut
"Him?" The words of the doctor broke into a stutter still trying hard to believe what he just heard."But how is that even possible... Madam Victoria, you are making a real grievous mistake here. He can't be the heir that everyone has been expecting. But there is no way that is possible right?" He was still finding it difficult to believe."You still have the guts not to believe what is just said? Are you trying to say that I am lying?" Her face tightened into a frown as another slap landed on his face. His eyes grew hot red with so much embarrassment as his eyes skimmed through his subordinates staring at him with every trace of pity in their eyes."Meanwhile, a slight cough escaped from the mouth of his foster mother making Joshua turn toward her."Are you okay Mami?" He inquired but even though she nodded her head, he could already tell that she was not and was only trying to lay his mind to rest.Turning towards one of the guards, he snapped his fingers and to the surprise of ev
Jace's eyes brightened with so much surprise but after seeing what had happened, he was a little bit frightened of Joshua.Joshua's feet moved closer to him and even though he was trying to control himself, he could not help but shiver. His eyes scanned through every single detail of the hall and he finally beckoned on Victoria who walked swiftly towards him."Young Master." She noted getting over to him."I want everyone out of the hall. I want to have a separate time with him." He said moving his eyes away from her.She got off her trails and walked swiftly towards everyone, chasing them away until Joshua was left alone with Jace."You should sit." Joshua's face split into a smile trying to calm the tense air but even with that, their heart of Jace was still racing fast.He got up from his kneeling position and sat down on the chair."Now, I need all the details about you..." He said. But even though his words were calm, his face broke up in cold sweat, getting Joshua a little bit
