Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Their face was flushed with so much confusion as their gaze returned from Joshua to the strange lady.

"I'm very Sorry manager. I know I should not have allowed him here in the first place." He shivered.

Meanwhile, the eyes of Henry brightened Even more as there was a dark smile hanging on his face.

"Manager?" The words rang in his head again.

He had always heard of the strong lady boss who ruled the greatest business empire in the City but never had he thought that he was going to see her anytime soon, especially in that kind of situation.

This was his one-way ticket of earning the respect g the company and he was not going to let it slip.

Walking toward them, he straightened himself once again and a slight cough escaped from his mouth just to alert everyone about his presence.

"Don't worry ma'am. There is always this kind of situation nowadays and you know what, you don't have to worry about this type of situation, and." Before he could even get to finish the statement that he was trying to make, she shot a deadly sneer at him making him fall backward almost immediately with shock.

"Keep out of something that you know nothing about." She growled and turned around towards Joshua.

"Can I have your card, sir?" She nodded her head and he got the message immediately.

His hands reached out to the card in his coat and he handed it over to her. Her eyes caught a swift glimpse of it and she pointed it over to the card

"Did you even care to examine it? Cause if you did, you would have noticed that it's owed only by VIP."

Their Jaws fell apart with so much shock. At first, Henry wanted to let it slip and stay out of the discussion but after hearing that, he just couldn't hold himself back from interfering anymore.

"I think that you are making a huge mistake here ma'am. Just take a good look at him. Can he even afford a cleaner job here?"

"I wonder if that isn't for you," Evelyn Noted because she had a solid list of all the guest that was going to be in the place and their names were not even on the list.

"That's just way too impossible. He is the CEO and he can get the card without even a blink." He added.

"Yeah, I owe my own company unlike." He sneered at him.

"Will see about that." She added.

She turned around towards the guards and stared at him.

"I think that you are making a huge mistake ma'am, there is certainly no way that we can afford the card." He added.

Cold sweat broke out from the corner of his head praying that the manager was certainly going to consider her decision

"I you saying that I made a mistake after issuing this card myself?" The anger that was littered all over her voice was vivid as she continued to stare at him.

He took a glance at Joshua again still trying hard to believe what he just heard.

"How did you guys get to know each other?"

"I think that should be the least of your worries. He is..." He was about to say but then Joshua stopped him from spilling out the words from her mouth because she already knew what it was that she wanted to say.

"Because I saved her life that is." He chimed him.

Immediately he spat out the Words from his mouth, she chiseled a stare towards his direction, seeking an explanation in her eyes but he only nodded his head.

She knew that there was absolutely nothing that she could do about it now so she just had to play along.

Meanwhile, Henry scoffed right on the point that he was standing even though it was only audible to Evelyn who was standing right beside him.

"I knew it right from the start, the relationship isn't that strong."

The guard was already shivering to the point that he was standing knowing fully well that his boss would never take a joke for what this stranger did.

"Now I get it." He nodded his head walking in between them.

"But it wasn't a big deal, right? Anyone would have done it."

"But he did." Helena scoffed floating in perfectly into the character that Joshua already paved for her.

"That's the reason that I should appreciate him. By getting him a job or even paying for saving someone as Precious as you."

He searched through his pocket for his card trying as hard as he could to make a positive impression of the Lady that was standing before him.

Victoria who had already seen several of his kind already knew the moves but this time it was very different. It seemed to have something personal with her young master and she was going to get to the bottom of it.

Finally, he brought out the card from his pocket and stretched his hands over to Joshua.

"Here is my card. The pin is MY LADY'S BIRTHDAY. Get yourself anything that you want." He added with a smile hanging on his face stretching the words lady.

He could already feel his heart burning with so much rage as he stared at the card and back at the man who was reaching out to him.

Victoria gasped at the sight of it.

'Does he even realize that the man that is standing right before you can buy that card, you and your company?' her eyes widened waiting for what Joshua was going to say about it.

"I think that you should keep it. You need it more than I do." He said pushing the card back.

Henry was flushed with so much embarrassment but he tried as much as he could to force through a smile.

'Wretched dumbass, I am going to make sure that you pay for this.'

"He saved me so I should be the one repaying him. Thanks for the kind gesture though."

His face broke into a smile before he went ahead to give a response.

"You are Very much welcome."

"But it wasn't needed though." She added.

Turning over to the guard her face squeezed into a sudden frown.

"And as for you, you are  fire. And don't dare to plead. I am going to get you out of the city if you provoke me."  She glared.

The eyes of the man almost shot out his eyes as he already knew the situation of the city labor market.

Random thoughts ran through his mind and for a while he didn't know what to do

He fell to his knees immediately, walking towards his boss who stood just before him with a deadly glare hanging on her face.

"Miss Helena. It would be preferable for you to kill me than to let me out into the city jobless. Please forgive me. I am going to do everything possible to make amends for my mistake." The tears flooded off from his eyes but the young lady that was before hee didn't seem to be moved by any of the show.

"I think that you still don't get it. I'm the one that you wronged."

His eyes ventured towards the point that Joshua was standing and he crawled over to him.

"Please, sir. Forgive me."There was not a single trace of sincerety in his voice as he thought Joshua wasn't any way special and only wanted his job back

Joshua wanted him to know about it. He our off the dark card that was given to him and pulled it over his face.

Meanwhile, Evelyn and Henry were far off and could hardly see anything that was happening over there.

"Young master?" He shivered almost immediately.

"Yeah, you should leave already or you are going into a whole lot of trouble." He replied.

Knowing that there was nothing that he could do now, he walked away from the place.

Meanwhile, Victoria turned over to Evelyn and her newly found boyfriend.

"It's already settled already Mr. And Mrs. So why don't we go in already?" She spilled out.

"Sure." Henry glared at Joshua almost immediately but before he could get to pull away from the place, Joshua stopped him with his hands.

"And what is the meaning of this?" Henry sneered at him.

"Aren't you forgetting something already? The bet! You are supposed to lick the dust off my shoes right?" His eyes farrowed towards him.

"What?"  He frowned at him.

"A bet is a bet and I think that the only thing that you should be thinking about is how to save your face." Joshua sneered.
