Chapter 18 – The Lying Pirate

“Ahh, phew.” Ying exclaimed as sweat dripped from all parts of her body. But just then she stared around the surrounding in search of Ghou who had suddenly disappeared from the area

“Guys, where is Ghou.”

***

Ghou whose eyes suddenly flung open met a cloud of darkness, followed by a source of glittery light.

“Ahh. Where am I.” Ghou who still laid down on the seemingly wet ground muttered as he stood up, trying to place his memory that seemed blur.

“Ghou Fe Ling, am I right.” A loud voice pushed him into reality as his eyes fell into a tall red dragon.

With a shriek of fear, Ghou once again fell to the ground, already shivering in sight of the monster that slowly advanced towards him. He immediately began to muttered words of denial as he disagreed with his eyes on what it had saw.

          No!

The existence of dragons in this world was too impossible as they were ancient or rather, legendary creatures that would never fall into the eyes of anybody. And by the way, legends and myths had it that the dragons and other relating creatures were beasts of the devils and were therefore killed by the gods. So this was too unbelievable

“You’re not real, please, don’t be real.” Ghou took a quick glance at the beast once again for confirmation, but it appearance did not change a bit.

“Don’t be a fragile object Ghou, I hate it when you aren’t looking at me.”

With fear of the words that the beast roared, Ghou turned his gaze to the creature that continuously gave him goosebumps.

“Ghou, you don’t need to be scared of……”

Ghou attention was instantly diverted with the appearance of the sparkles that appeared amongst the red scales of the creature

“You aren’t no dragon.” Ghou boldly stood up from the ground, after confirming the words of Kiara that defined the Pirate beast as a copycat

“But I could still squash you into grinded bits.” The supposed Pirate gave a direct answer, not denying the fact of it being the said creature “But, did you listen to all the words I’ve been saying.”

“Emm, no.”

“There is a man, who I overheard planning to take control over the empire and kill the empress, including you.”

Ghou fell into a round of laughter after listening to the Pirate who looked extremely serious with his words

“You’re…. You’re I very good liar.” Ghou returned to his state of laughter as he was unable to control the urge that grew more intense

“Why are you laughing.” The Pirate angrily barked at Ghou who returned to reality “Just remember that I’m still a ferocious beast, and I would not hesitate to kill you.”

Ghou gulped down his saliva hearing the remark of the Pirate who looked completely furious. But with the voice of the creature, Ghou began to suspect the statement if the Pirate was telling the truth.

But who would want to Kill him when he doesn’t even associate with people. Though Kiara had a lot of enemies who had also participated in the Ling contest, so it could had been understandable, but the story involving him now brought a whole new subject.

“Did you happen to see the person.”

“No, but he was short haired.”

“Is that even a feature to report a person, there are lots of people with short-haired people around the empire.” Ghou grumbled to the report of the Pirate who slowly began to transform into a Placid-snake.

The Placid snake was a rare pet that had the structure of a cat upper body, that still held its four limbs, but now replacing it tail into a snake’s under body.

The Pirate who finally ended its transformation now hid itself under the skin of a glittery-purple furry Placid, that had four elongated fins located on both sides of its head and various extensions that attached to the twelve meter long body.

“But I have his smell, so I could be this cute pet you found in the woods. And by the way, I could help you track down that man, and something keeps telling me he means no good.”

“I know, but you’re all so glittery and all that.” Ghou contemplated as his gaze glued to the Pirate that curled up it body into a mesmerizing beauty.

Already impatient for Ghou’s reply, the furry creature began to loose it nice face, already revealing the curved fangs that hid under his wide mouth “I’m not begging Ghou, but be up for a fight if you’re going to say no.”

“Okay, I agree.” Ghou reluctantly answered putting a smile into the face of the creature that quickly ran into his leg curling around it in a nice way. “Now where is my sword.”

He finally noticed the absence of the scabbard that was worn on his waist, along with the two sword that were given to him.

“I hate these type of things.” Cheng muttered to himself as he continuously called for Ghou who was out of sight.

The group were involved in a fight some hours ago, and suddenly Ghou seemed to have gone lost. The echo of his name went on for an additional hour until one of the guards caught sight of a teenager that laid unconsciously on the ground, wearing a long gown that was befitting only for a noble or merchant

“Over here.” The guard who stood some distance away from the girl called out to the group that ran to him within an instant

“Heaven’s flame.” Ying exclaimed already holding the girl’s arm that felt warm “What do we do about her.”

Ying’s hands subconsciously strolled to the long flowing black hair of the girl that matched her blushed cheeks and body stature

“Take her to the empire, she’s definitely no beast.” One amongst the guards suggested staring at Ying and the others that had no difficulty in meeting to the idea

“So, does this mean we’re abandoning the project, without Ghou.” Cheng stared at the others who went silent only allowing the chirping of birds and other creatures to resound the forest

“Well, yeah. We have no choice, we can’t leave her like this.”
