CHAPTER 240

“What more assurance do you need?” Alan asked, his nostrils flared in anticipation and a slight frustration.

Elaine shifted comfortably in her seat before speaking. “Erm, I need you to help me negotiate with Felix Lincoln that he should give me the secretary position in his team if we are to give him the recording.”

“What?” Alan’s eyebrow furrowed.

“Yes, of course, Alan,” Elaine responded. “I am trying not to sound selfish but if I am going to go through all this trouble, I have to get something out of it, don’t you think? I mean it's only fair that I get something from it.”

Alan’s face crumpled with a deadly twist of exhaustion. It was already almost midnight and even though Elaine came in looking the tired one, it now seemed as if he was the exhausted one.
