Nathan walked angrily, but no one took notice. Just when Dave was about to place his lips on Amanda’s, Nathan fiercely pushed Dave to the ground.

The whole crowd went ‘oooo’.

See, Nathan was far from popular in Luxton university as a matter of fact, he was the least famous person in the school. It wouldn’t be out of place to say ‘No one knew him’, but it would not be true, because that will not be correct.

A few months back, Nathan was walking into the lecture hall when a rat suddenly jumped out of his worn out backpack and scurried off!

Everyone burst into heavy fists of laughter. They laughed like it was their last day on earth. The embarrassment was clearly spelt on the poor boys face.

So, yes, Nathan was known by a few people as a church rat, literally. He wondered what his little sister would have to go through because they were poor. They had always been poor and that was the only thing he knew about their past.

Luxton wasn’t just for him. If it weren’t for the NECA billion dollar company who sponsored scholarships exams for him and other exceptional teenagers like him, he would have still been stuck in the orphanage. He and his sister. And yes, no one would like to adopt an already grown man like himself.

“Fuck! Who’s this?” Dave roared as he immediately got back to his feet.

Nathan ignored him and turned to Amanda. “Amanda, what do you think you’re doing? What are you doing to me? I thought..!”

“Stop it, Nathan! Are you crazy? You wanna hurt him?” were the first words that escaped Amanda’s mouth. Like she didn’t even care a bit about Nathan’s presence.

Everyone kept watching to see what would happen next. They all followed Dave on his socials and they knew that Dave went to the gym and he would definitely beat up this poor kid.

“Amanda I.. I thought you loved me! What happened?” Nathan stammered. He was already shedding tears.

Amanda felt slightly remorseful. She was a bit guilty. She couldn’t look him in the eye. But she also didn’t say anything to defend herself. She was ashamed to be seen with Nathan.

“Everyone, look! It’s the orphan boy! The rat ‘n backpack dude! He wants to fight me!” Dave called out and everyone laughed.

“Booooo!!”

The words ‘orphan boy’ tinged in Nathan ears. He hated it.

He looked at Dave with intense hatred and anger boiling inside him. Nathan spent all his life doing hard labor, so he was mentally and physically strong!

But Nathan calmed down and turned back to Amanda who was still looking away with no response in mind.

“Look, Nathan, you’re a good kid and… I liked you! But I’m sorry. I can’t do this anymore. It’s over!” She finally said, confirming Nathan’s fears.

“Alright orphan. You heard her. Whatever child’s play you two played before is now over. The game is over. Now, beat it. Go find your daddy!” Dave aired.

His dark humor was loud enough to make everyone laugh intensely at Nathan. Nathan felt like a bird in the midst of snakes. Only, he had no wings.

He just stood there and looked at Amanda, tears all over his face. He should’ve listened to Marcus and Neil when they told him to let Amanda go. $300 every week? Was he crazy?

“Are you also deaf? You can’t be poor and deaf at the same time, so, beat it, orphan kid! Go cry to mommy” Dave pushed.

Nathan could no longer take it. He clenched his fist and sent a heavy blow to Dave’s jaw, sending him to the ground.

Nathan didn’t stop there. He pounced on the rich guy and began sending heavy blows to his face. Dave also gave him some smack marks on his face.

The students were all cheering for Dave. He had to let it get to his head. He wasn’t going to let this ‘nobody’ defeat him. It would be humiliating and would tarnish his image.

But Nathan dealt with him mercilessly and this made everyone shocked.

Luckily, the school security men rushed to the scene, and after chasing the students back to class, they zapped Nathan with a taser. Then they held him up and was about to take him away when Amanda stopped them.

Amanda walked up to Nathan and gave him a resounding slap and spat on his face! “Shame on you! You have no right to hit Dave that way! He can literally buy you! You know what? It’s over! I can’t date a broke orphan like you! What was I even thinking?!”

“Let me go! I didn’t do anything! He started the fight!” Nathan cried out, trying to break free.

But obviously, the security would not believe a poor boy with no good clothes and shoes. His father wasn’t a millionaire like Dave’s father, Mr. Lynch.

In fact, he didn’t even have a father. Nathan was the bad person here. Dave was innocent!

Right?

“You are under arrest young man! Now, move it!” One of the securities ordered.

Nathan took one last glance at Amanda. His tears registered her face before dropping to the ground.

The one place he feared all his life – police station. Now, he is going in there. Who will save him? What will he do?

Who will take care of his little sister?

“What are these papers for?” Nathan asked the lawyer who was seated perfectly on the chair on the other side of the desk as he scanned the series of documents in his hand. “Well, sir, your father. Mr. Daniel Reed, owned many companies. He ranked 4th on the list of world billionaires before he died, though he decided to remain anonymous.” “These companies included NECA, the art-tech company worth over $190 Billion, LetFod; the automobile company worth over $680 Billion, Brymid; the hospital chain worth over $300 billion, and numerous other ventures spanning various industries," the lawyer explained, his voice carrying the weight of the immense wealth and responsibility being passed on to Nathan. “Hold on. Did you say NECA?” Nathan asked calmly. He remembered that NECA was the company who sponsored his scholarship examination into Luxton University. He also knew LetFord. In business class, they always used it as an example for top automobile companies in the world, even competing

Mornings in the opulent Reeds’ mansion were usually quiet and boring. Especially Monday mornings like today. Only lawn caretakers, security guards and other service workers could be seen walking around the building. But it was different today. Papa Sam had promised to take her to amusement parks of her choice anytime she wanted. She was now rich and would be able to get everything she had always dreamed of having. This sight made Nathan happy. In fact, the bed he slept on felt like an automatic massager. It was just so comfy. The AC made his sleep smooth. He also found out that he had Alexa in his room and so he decided to sleep with a soft R&B by Billie Eilish to remember fragments of memories from his life with Amanda. But his happiness was short-lived. Marcus had called him the night before to remind him of the schoo

He couldn’t shake off the feeling knowing that now, everyone would be right about him. He was just a broke kid. But Fred’s response was shocking. “Sir, you are aware that the card in your possession is an exclusive card. This means that the card cannot be used just anywhere. Being an exclusive card, it can only be used in luxurious places like restaurants, hotels and shopping malls!” Fred explained to him everything in detail. This calmed Nathan down a bit. “But for minor purchases, young master, you can simply use the funds in your bank. A transfer of $1,000,000,000 has been sent to your account. In places where you cannot use your exclusive debit card, you can always switch!” Nathan began to walk out of the school with so much confidence and determination. He was secure. A wound that he was trying to heal, a wound he would spend a trillion dollars to completely close up. But Alex did not give a damn! He needed to lash out his own anger and cries. “I would kill you over and over again, brother. Our father was an asshole just like you. Alex Reed struggled to breathe as hard as he struggled to see. He looked around and could barely see a thing. He was in a dark room and whoever the fuck put him there was merciful enough to place a dim light above his head, just enough for him to see his own breath. He tried to move, but his body was numb, and yes, he was tied to a chair, so he could not move. He had been captured. He tried to recall the last incident that happened to him. He was in his car, driving to the airport for his departure, and then he was drinking… Yes. He was poisoned by a man who was not Mark, his driver. Someone had ambushed him, and now, he was tied up to a stupid chair when he was supposed to be on the seat of his private jet. Clearly, it was Megan. Alex had been humiliated to the core already. He had Vanessa slap him ruthlessly in public, diminishing his pride, lowering his esteem in front of the whole world. Then, he had Emma threaten him. This was not right. This was not the Alex he had envision

Marcus’s breath hitched. His heart pounded in his ears, drowning out the sound of the wind rustling through the trees. His fingers curled into fists, and for the first time in years, he felt something he had long buried—fear. His lips parted slightly, but no words came. April, oblivious to the storm brewing within Marcus, stared at Neil’s grave with a mixture of shock and grief. “Neil…” she whispered, her voice cracking. “I—I didn’t even know he was buried here. I mean, I heard he was killed. And whoever did it, death to the person.” Mr. Frost said nothing. He simply stood there, his hands in his coat pockets, his head slightly tilted, watching Marcus the way a lion watches its prey—patient, unhurried, and inevitable. “You seem shaken, Marcus,” Mr. Frost finally said, his voice smooth, almost amused. “Why?” Marcus forced a dry chuckle. “I just… I wasn’t expecting this,” he lied. “It’s just bringing back memories.” “Ah,” Mr. Frost nodded, taking a slow step toward Neil’s grave.

  • CHAPTER 427 (FINALE)

“You said you wanted to see me?” Asked Marcus, panting. He had been running. He dared not disappoint Mr. Frost or make him wait. Especially because Mr. Frost had been cold towards him for a while. Marcus was not sure why Mr Frost would tell him to meet him at the cemetery. He literally just returned from a journey, not a vacation trip, a work trip to Dubai and he had been there for over 1 month, alone and away from all social connections, online and offline. “Did you bring your girlfriend as I requested?” asked Mr. Frost. “Yes I did, sir.” Marcus responded and signalled for April to come over. This was yet another strange thing. Why did he request for April too? April walked up to them and greeted Mr. Frost respectfully. Mr. Frost looked into her eyes and smiled, the type of smile that came from past lives and would live on for millions of years. His smile was so endearing, thought April, the very first day she met him. There was an aura he exuded that was so… so familiar, so

Mr. Frost stood there, silently allowing the breeze to softly kiss his tender skin. Tender? No, more like rough and craggy. In this context, many people would say he had been through hell and back. But this was not the case for Mr. Frost. He lived in hell, ate in hell, cried in hell, burnt in hell, revived, burnt again, defeated demons, defeated the devil himself, and took over control. But he was close. He was this close to losing it, this close to becoming the very thing that destroyed him. His life had been a mystery, a story that could cover over 2,000 pages and 400 chapters. If only he had been writing a story of his life, or at least just documenting some specific events or even writing a journal, then it might probably be the best selling book in the New York Times or even in the entire world. Maybe he would title it, “The Man Who Survived Hell and Ruled It.” or “A Man Called Revenge!” He scoffed. He gulped down his bottle of wine as he reminisced back to early orphan

It was like he was standing next to a fire, a hot lava, and one push from an inauspicious wind could lead to an untimely death. “You!” he said to Megan before taking slow steps to his ex, who was not official. Finally, they were sharing the same oxygen and staring eyeball to eyeball. “V.. Vanessa. I… Look, I know that…” Slap! Alex held his face. He felt humiliated. But he had to try one more time. “Vanessa. Whatever you think is not true. I…” Slap! Slap again. Slap the fourth time. This got onlookers making videos of the lady slapping the man at the airport. And you,” Alex continued, focusing his attention on Megan, “You knew she was going in to see Mr. Frost, that… that god… or whatever his fucking title is.
