CHAPTER 7

After a lot of deliberation, Alora cleared her throat, looking into the decision made was nice, but then something was missing.

Which was inviting Gary over. Without that, their plans would definitely be fruitless.

As Sandra was on her tracks, she wanted to clear her name, and turned the table around so she would never truly be suspected.

Sandra, who had been staring down at her feet, lifted her head and raised her hand.

Hence, she walked towards her grandmother and said, "I'll invite Gary over, but then I have a suggestion on how to go about that." Sandra said affirmatively without shame.

At that, Alora tilted her gaze. "Wow, that's great. It's good to see the main victim try to take revenge. So let's hear you out Sandra." Alora said confidently with keen interest.

"I suggest we get him with his interest."

"His interest?" Alora was more interested than before.

"What do you.mean as regards to his Interest? None of us here knows what you mean, if you could just open up, it could actually go a long way to help us." Alora said.

"Yes grandma…" she paused but then continued.  "I need to infirm you all that Gary was actually here to blackmail me just because he wants to opt out of the marriage. He wants a divorce."

Several murmurs went round again. This was the first time they were hearing that that evening. Even Alora herself was surprised.

Funny enough, Gary had not brought it up, because they never gave him a chance to talk not to talk or speak out his mind. All of them had jointly ganged up against him believing that he was wrong.

Suddenly, a broad smile appeared on Alora's wrinkled face, and she said. "I see a bright light in what you speak of, but then expatriate more, let's all know how you intend going about this."

"It's simple grandma, all we need to do is tell him that the papers are ready and he needs to tender his signature just to complete the agreement and then the marriage can be dissolved."

"Wow, that's a nice idea." Several females murmured after listening to Sandra and concurring with her idea.

Alora however cleared her throat, the sound echoing through the large hall. "I have a question," she said, her voice deep and steady. "How are we going to get Gary to believe that the contract papers are ready when they really aren't?"

"It's much simple grandma, we should have a problem with that at all. Just leave it to me." she said, her voice trembling slightly.

Her grandmother looked at her, concern etched into her features. "Are you sure, dear?" she asked. "It's not an easy thing to do."

Sandra nodded, her jaw set with determination. "I have to do it," she said. "I can't let Gary escape after the amount of humiliation he caused today. Today was supposed to be your sat grandma!" A day you should share with loved ones, but now he turned into a day with no level of enlightenment. He really deserves to be punished and I'm definitely going to help out in accomplishing it."

The group fell into a tense silence, each one of them lost in thought. Finally, one of the men spoke up. "But how are you going to do it?" he asked. "Gary's not stupid. He's going to want to see the papers for himself."

Sandra took a deep breath, her mind racing. "I'll tell him that I have the papers, but that they're not with me," she said. "I'll say that they're at the office, and that we need to go there to sign them. Then, I'll make up some excuse for why we can't go to the office right away. Maybe I'll say that the office is closed for repairs or something."

Her grandmother nodded, a small smile spreading across her face. "That just might work," she said.

Sandra looked around at the group of people, feeling a sense of relief wash over her and also a smile of triumph.

While Brenda made to do her thing as promised, several other guests trickled into the hall, the air was filled with an electric buzz of anticipation.

The hall which was rented for Alora's birthday was actually a hall in Primestar hotel where Gary worked. Hence, the incidence of the Larson's was quick to spread across the hotel.

Several workers had heard about it. It was just quite unfortunate to discover that ninety nine per cent of those that worked at the hotel hated Gary, as such they wanted to see what would become of him after he was dealt with by his wife's family.

Many of them were as well ready to take pictures and videos and make sure it is distributed to the internet just to make fun out of him.

Whispers and murmurs floated through the room, as people speculated about what fate awaited Gary. Some guests seemed excited, their eyes gleaming with anticipation, while others appeared more solemn, their faces etched with concern.

As the minutes ticked by, the hall grew increasingly crowded, with more and more people pushing their way inside. The atmosphere was tense, with an almost palpable sense of unease hanging in the air. Everyone was waiting for Gary to arrive, and for the family to make their move.

A hush fell over the room as the door swung open, and Gary strode in. He looked calm and collected, with a slight smile playing at the corners of his mouth. The guests watched in silence as he made his way to his wife's side,

She was the only one he now had to deal with. All others, he had absolutely nothing to do with them at all.

"Where are the papers?" Gary said once again with a stern expression.

Sandra couldn't withhold her  stare into his eyes, as they looked so domineering and hungry, like a hungry lion would.

Hence, she merely gulped and signals to Alora to take over.

"You took us for a fool right?"

Gary remained dumb, realization dawned on him that he had been deceived into believing that the papers were already.

Instantly, as Alora continued to voice harshly. Gary noticed a familiar figure walk into the hall.
