Afraid

Lucas sat at the end of the large conference table, facing the projection screen that displayed complex graphs about the company's performance. Joe, who always accompanied him, sat beside him, monitoring the reactions of the meeting participants.

In the midst of the serious presentation, Lucas's luxurious phone rang. The dark screen of the phone displayed a picture of Bianca, his ex-girlfriend, in a very private moment with him. Lucas felt his heart rate quicken as a threatening message came in.

Joe, sensitive to his boss's expression, noticed the tension on Lucas's face. He hummed quietly, trying to ease the tension.
