The Serum

"If you keep skipping important meetings, people are going to start getting suspicious of you, Mark." General Allen cautioned the younger man before him. He strolled casually to the center of the laboratory, and without a care, settled on the table.

Mark ignored the general's remark and continued with the experiment he was currently working on. After he was done with his calculations, he finally took off his goggles and turned to face his visitor.

"If we're going to be successful then I need all the time I can get. I don't have time to spend arguing with those four."

"Any progress yet?" General Allen inquired before rising from where he sat. He inched in closer to the papers close to Mark, and after taking a look at the calculations and written down notes, he returned his gaze to the scientist, his eyes wide with curiosity and expectation.
