CHAPTER FORTY

Kayla hustled down the hall, heels clicking urgently on marble floors. She was running late for the merger negotiations thanks to the misinformation. She was sure this meeting was set for 10:00 AM, but as soon as 8:00 AM the representatives of the Zhang company were already around. Now she had to scramble to make it in time.

‘...who the hell gave them a wrong information?’

Were they the one given wrong information or was she the one?

Rounding the corner toward a certain conference room, Kayla collided forcefully with another person. Papers exploded into the air as she crashed backwards, barely catching herself against the wall.

“I’m so sorry!” she exclaimed. Then as she caught sight of the man she’d run into, her expression hardened.

Tate. Her brother stood there straightening his suit, trademark smirk firmly in place as Kayla’s important documents fluttered around them.
