THE ACCUSATIONS ARE ALL UNTRUE!

Daren stood tense, his hands still cuffed, feeling the blood at the corners of his lips still flowing slowly. His heart sank when he saw the pale face of Laura, his wife, who was sobbing in Charlie's arms. Daren didn't expect to be slandered this badly. All the accusations directed at him felt like an endless nightmare.

"The accusation of your stepmother's death is enough to shock me, but now I have to face even worse accusations?" Daren shouted with mounting anger.

Daren couldn't help himself; his patience was at an all-time low. "Why would you say such a thing, Laura?!" he exclaimed. He felt torn between disappointment and anger, unable to understand what was happening.

Through a sad, tear-drenched gaze, Laura looked at Daren and replied shakily, "You... you can't deny it anymore, Daren! I've found the proof myself!"

Before Daren could argue, Charlie tapped him on the shoulder, a mocking smile etched on his lips. "That's enough, Daren. For now, you are guilty. And accept the punishment for what you've done to my wife!"

The policemen dragged Daren away mercilessly. Daren screamed, trying to convince everyone that he was innocent. But no one would listen to him. "Why doesn't anyone believe me?" Daren shouted in frustration.

As soon as he was put in the cell and the cell door was locked, Daren screamed in anger. "I'm innocent! I never did what they accused me of! Oh God, what am I supposed to do?"

"Be quiet!" snapped a man who had been in prison longer and was stocky. He was uncomfortable with Daren's constant complaining. "Will you shut up, huh, killer?!"

"I'm not a killer!" Daren argued, a fire of anger burning in his chest. "I was accused for no good reason. I never touched my mother-in-law, let alone killed her! How can they not care about the truth and judge me on such false evidence?"

The burly man did not laugh mockingly. Frustration welled up in Daren's mind, wishing he had the strength to break free from this cold prison.

Then the burly man gave Daren a sardonic look. "Ha! Everyone here says the same thing. I was also accused for no apparent reason. But, you see, I've been here for five years, and no one cares. So, you'd better shut up and accept your fate!"

Daren felt that the world was no longer on his side. He didn't know what to do other than surrender and accept the fact that he would end up in prison. However, he was convinced of his innocence.

Before he succumbs to fate, Daren is determined to prove the truth and clear his name. Daren vows that he will break out of this prison and uncover the truth, no matter how difficult the obstacles he has to face.

Once Daren was in jail, the medical team examined Vivian's body to find out the cause of death. The results showed that Vivian had indeed died from poisoning, and the type of poison found was cyanide.

"So, the cause of my mother's death was cyanide?" asked Laura incredulously with teary eyes.

"Yes, Miss Laura. We conducted a detailed examination and found the poison in Mrs. Vivian's body," replied the Chief Medical Officer.

After Laura, Charlie, and the police had found out the results of the examination of Vivian's body, they immediately rushed to the house where the investigation took place.

The house has been marked with a police line, and Laura and Charlie are forbidden to occupy the house until the investigation is complete. The entire contents of the house were examined by the police, including looking for CCTV. However, it turned out that the house did not have CCTV.

"Why is there no CCTV in this house?" Inspector Barra asked Laura and Charlie.

"Mr. Police, we feel safe here, so we never installed CCTV," Charlie replied.

"Okay, but we'll keep investigating and search the whole house," said Inspector Barra.

The police began to search the house, looking for evidence related to Vivian's death. After a few hours, they found a surprising object. In the pocket of Daren's pants, which he had used this morning, the police found a small bottle of cyanide poison.

"This is it, the cyanide poison that was allegedly used by the perpetrator to kill Vivian," Inspector Barra said, showing the small bottle to Laura and Charlie.

"Whose pants are these?" he asked later.

Laura covered her mouth, unable to believe what the police found. "Mr. Police, those are my husband's pants. He used those pants this morning," Laura said in a trembling voice.

"Yes, Miss Laura, Mr. Charlie. We still have to conduct further investigations. For now, Daren remains the prime suspect in this case," Inspector Barra explained.

Charlie let out a long sigh, feeling saddened by the circumstances that had befallen his family. "Let's hope the investigation is completed quickly, and the truth is revealed soon," he said in a desperate tone.

"I promise, we will work as quickly as possible to solve this case. Please cooperate with the family," Inspector Barra pleaded before leaving the house.

"Mr. Police," Laura called out suddenly.

"Yes, Miss Laura," replied Inspector Barra.

"I found this in my mom's room," Laura handed over a photo, not just one. There were five of them. It was of Daren and Vivian having sex.

In the photo, the two were in a hotel room. Vivian and Daren's bodies were only covered by a blanket.

"I also found a video of Daren and Vivian having sex on my wife's cell phone," Charlie said, handing over Vivian's cell phone. "There are even traces of Vivian and Daren's chats that have not been deleted."

The police immediately secured Vivian's cell phone and the photos for investigation.

Meanwhile, in prison, Daren was silent in his cell. He couldn't stop reflecting on the bad luck that had befallen him today.

Upon arriving at the police station, Inspector Barra made his way to the interrogation room with firm steps. There, Daren was waiting, handcuffed and dressed in prisoner's clothes. The atmosphere in the interrogation room was thick and oppressive.

"Here we go again, Daren. This time I'll show you the evidence we found," Inspector Barra said as she placed a plastic bag of cyanide poison on the table. "We found this poison in your pants pocket during the investigation. Do you still want to argue?"

Daren tried to remain calm. "Mr. Inspector, I swear, it's not mine. I don't know how the poison ended up in my pants pocket," Daren tried to explain calmly.

Inspector Barra's face grew redder, anger evident on his face. "You're really stubborn! You've got the evidence in hand, you still dare to deny it!" Barra snapped.

"Mr. Inspector, I really didn't know. I had no ill intentions whatsoever. I never touched the poison before, let alone kept it in my pants pocket." Daren was getting angry, but he tried to hold his temper.

"So, after you see this. Are you still going to be evasive, Mr. Daren Navarro?" The man showed the photos he had gotten from Daren's wife.

"What the hell is this? That picture must be a fabrication! I've never had anything to do with my mother-in-law!" snapped Daren, his eyes perfectly rounded.

"So, are you still not going to confess after you've seen this?" Inspector Barra showed Daren a videotape of Daren and Vivian having sex.

Daren shook his head; he didn't understand why a disgusting video that he had never made was on Vivian's phone.

"Do you have a special relationship with the victim, Mr. Daren? Do you not want your relationship to be exposed to your wife and the victim's husband? Or do you have other motives besides that?" Barra seemed to be patiently interrogating Daren, the suspect.

"THE ACCUSATIONS ARE ALL UNTRUE!" shouted Daren as his patience began to run out again.
