Chapter 4

Sonya, was more than shocked by the confidence in Jake's words, she stared at Jake, her mind stitching every piece of the word together.

“Jake, you must be out of your mind asking for divorce.”

Interrupting her Jake voice was sharp and emotionless. “Is that not what you wanted, why are you acting like I betrayed you. I was there Sonya. If I was told you'd cheat on me I would deny it but I witnessed it firsthand.”

Panic seized Sonya, all this while Jake stayed at home and tended to her ill father, now that he's divorcing her who will take on the role.

“You want a divorce! After everything I have done for you. You're so shameless.”

“I have made up my mind, I can't bear being made a fool while you claim to be single with your lover.”

Sonya stepped forward and slapped her hand across Jake's face, “I will divorce you whenever I want. It was just a show, I haven’t made up my mind.”

Jake's anger pushed him forward with glaring anger and he grabbed Sonya by the arm. “Look Sonya, I treated you in the best way I can yet you humiliate me because of your lover.”

Jake closed his eyes shut at the thought of what Sonya did, how she lied to him all this while and his dream of starting a family was shattered.

He grabbed the pen from his pocket and swiped the pen furiously on the divorce paper. Sonya’s face twitched, she didn’t expect Jake to react.

Jake clenched his jaw, frustration churning inside him amazed by how Sonya was reacting when she was the one that hurt him, and he was trying to stay strong and taking time to mourn with his family.

“What about father? You made him in that situation, who will take care of him.” Sonya shouts from behind shamelessly. Her voice chiming with nonchalance although her inside churned with anxiety. “Who do you want to leave him for?”

Before Sonya could act, her boyfriend showed before the both of them. The man smiled warmly rubbing his well groomed beard and his eyes twinkled towards Sonya. “My dear, you must be mad at me for not being available when you needed me so I rushed down after my meeting,” he said in a charming voice flaunting his expensive debit card.

“I wasn’t mad at you at all, I know how busy you can be, I'm happy now you’re here.”

“I thought you would divorce this fool yesterday.” The man scanned Jake, disqualifying him immediately. “I don’t know how you’ve managed to keep up with a man you can’t be proud of.”

“Well, I have given you the privilege, I divorced her before she could divorce me.” Jake cut in.

Jake was less bothered about Sonya now especially when she humiliated him in public and chose her boyfriend she’s been having affairs with.

Sonya bit her lower lips, trying to remain calm and to hurt Jake's emotion, so she then moved softly towards her boyfriend. “James you must be feeling bad for not being here, having the hospital bill covered is so manly of you. Some people tried to take the credit.”

Sonya rolled her eyes when they met Jake. “No, I didn't cover the hospital bill.” James said curtly.

Sonya's mind flies instantly to Jake's statement. “No way you will move on quickly.” She muttered quietly, “you love me too much to do that.” Then it hit her that he was the first to divorce. The Jake she knew will never hurt her, he will cling onto her and worship at her feet,

Arrogant smirk on Sonya's face was wiped off. That was the final straw, Jake moved out of the hospital ward and grabbed the Uber driver.

“Where are we going sir?” The uber man inquired.

Jake opened his eyes. He lived as the underdog of the Cotoroni family, he returned from Silver planet to Crystal planet like a homeless dog. He will never allow himself to commit the same mistake again.

“To the biggest star shuttle on the planet.”

“You want to buy a star shuttle!” The uber man exclaimed.

Jake nodded bitterly. “Yes.”

“What kind of shuttle do you want to buy?”

Jake smiled and blinked at the rear view mirror. “Have no idea, just the one I can drive around.”

Although Jake had grown up in an average family he never had to worry about money.

So when he fell in love and married Sonya he thought none of those mattered, that love will give him the security he wanted to keep low profile and avoid being kidnapped again he lived as the useless don in law.

But Jake didn’t know that those around Sonya and even Sonya disdained him.

Jake touched his face. On the crystal planet everyone thought he’s dead. On the Silver planet everyone thought he was sponging off the Cotoroni family, now he can live as he wants without bothering about other people’s opinions.

“Here we are sir.” The cab driver announced stopping in front of the star shuttle.

“Thank you.” Jake paid the f*e with generous tips and walked out of the cab shuttle.

“Welcome, may I ask what you need? Our star shuttle is of premium quality’s md the price is starting at 20 million.” The beautiful sales girl emphasizes the digits. “20 million.”

Jake smiled calmly, he was looked down upon by everyone, his dressing even made the sales girl express her disdain and remind him he couldn’t afford a star shuttle.

“The Phantom star shuttle you fancied is made on Watercloud Planet. There are only 15 shuttles of the same brand on the whole Crystal Planet. The price is a bit expensive; it costs 50 million, but it's worth it! We have special offers these days in our store. If you don't have enough money, you can apply for a loan. The interest rate on the loan is only 14%; it's a real bargain!" The manager was following a man called Manson and was trying hard to sell a Phantom star shuttle to him.

Manson hesitated for a long time and gritted his teeth. "Okay, I'll buy it."

When Jake saw Manson, he couldn't help frowning. Then Jake was a sidekick of Sonya when they were in college. When Jake and Sonya were engaged, Manson also followed Jake everywhere. But the moment Jake turned to Cotoroni family pushover Manson was the first one to mock him.

Jake knew long ago that he would meet old friends since he came back to Silver Planet, but he didn't expect it to be so fast.

"Jake, what a coincidence!" Manson looked at Jake up and down and smiled.

Manson's face was full of smiles, but deep in his eyes, there was disdain.

Jake raised his eyebrows. The clothes he was wearing were aunctioned. They were cheap but very comfortable.

"Jake, are you here to buy a star shuttle? The shuttles here are not cheap! "Manson reminded Jake that he could only admire good things from afar.

Jake nodded, "Yes! I know that."

"Master Manson, do you know this gentleman?" The sales manager looked at Jake and asked.

Manson with a smirk looked at Jake and said, "This person has a great background. He has a deep relationship with the Cotoroni family"

When he heard Manson's words, the sales manager's expression turned serious.

Jake couldn't help but smile bitterly in his heart. In Manson's opinion, he was nothing if he could not be related with Sonya.

"Sir, do you need anything?" The sales manager asked Jake.

"Is there a Voidom star shuttle of the Phantom Series here?" asked Jake..

Manson frowned and hurriedly said, "Jake, why are you asking about this? The Voidom is very expensive and you cannot test drive it before you buy it. If you want to experience the feeling of driving a Voidom, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed." A Phantom star shuttle was worth about 68 million, and a Voidom star shuttle was worth about 386 million.

"There is only one Voidom left," the sales manager said.

Ignoring Manson Jake asked. "How much is it?"

"380 million."

“I’ll pay by card." Jake said.

“Jake Where did you get so many star coins?!" Manson asked in surprise.
