CHAPTER TWO: FALLEN FROM GRACE

Lucas laughed after receiving a punch from Jamie.

“You're quite bold,” Lucas said, chuckling as he wiped out blood from the corner of his lips. “I'll give you that. You really got me but it wouldn't be right if I don't return this kind gesture you've shown me. Right boys?” Lucas asked, facing his friends as they responded positively.

“Get him,” Lucas said as his friends charged towards Jamie but Jamie took them down.

“I think you'll be next,” Jamie said, giving Lucas two more punches. “This is for humiliating me,” Jamie added with a punch. “And this is making Bella, the woman I love break up with me,” Jamie said as he punched Lucas on the face, breaking a nose.

“He's the one. Please arrest him. He has been behaving unreasonable and being a mad dog,” Bella said, arriving with security.

“What are you doing Bella? What is all this?” Jamie asked, shocked at what Bella did.

“What does it look like to you? I'm getting rid of you once and for all,” Bella said smirking.

“Didn't know you had it in you. Took you so long to call security,” Lucas said standing up with a groan, nursing his broken nose.

“A simple thank you would do,” Bella said, folding her hands as she rolled her eyes, while Lucas just chuckled.

“What are you waiting for? Bundle this trash out of here and hand him to the police and have him thrown in jail,” Lucas ordered as the security nodded.

Knowing who Lucas and Bella were, the security immediately bundled Jamie and took him away.

The news of Jamie's arrest spread like wildfire and it also reached Willowbrook University. Jamie's school.

Chancellor Cole Blair, the Chancellor of Jamie's campus and second to the school's president, didn't hesitate to get Jamie rusticated because of the accusation he received against Jamie.

At first, he just wanted to give Jamie a punishment till he got a call from Lucas' parents and because of the loyalty he had for Lucas' father, Peter Boswell, he had no other choice than to rusticate Jamie.

Jamie was locked up, and some officers just looked at him with pity.

“You should have known better than to pick a fight with the son of the Boswell over a girl and she's no ordinary girl. Bella Blair. You made a grave mistake, son,” an officer said, shaking his head.

“Hey kid, you've been rusticated from school,” an officer said announcing to Jamie who had a look of shock on his face.

“You've got it bad, kid,” the senior officer said leaving.

“What! I've been rusticated from school?” Jamie muttered as all his dreams flashed in front of his eyes. He was in trance that he didn't notice his mum and how she was ill-treated.

“Please can I speak with the chief inspector?” Jamie's mum pleaded.

“And who are you?” An officer asked.

“I'm the mother of the boy that was just brought in. Please can you release him? My son is innocent. I know that. I'm his mother after all. I can plead on his behalf. I know my son is not guilty of the charges laid against him,” Jamie's mother rushed her words as she continuously hit her chest pleading that her son wasn't guilty, while the officers just laughed at her.

“He should have thought about that before offending one of the powerful families in Brooklyn,” the officer said.

“But please, let me see him,” Jamie's mother cried out.

“Ma'am, you're causing a ruckus here. Please leave or we'll be forced to throw you out,” an officer said.

Jamie's mother felt so helpless. She just stood there watching her son in pain and then they tossed her aside.

Jamie's mother stood outside the station feeling lost when a stranger who walked out of the office of the police chief saw her and recognized her.
