Chapter 6 MEETING CEO

The next day, Nicola went to Skyline company just like he was invited. He was unable to sleep the whole night, thinking about the sudden change in his life. 

He got humiliated by a lot of people yesterday. Does he really have a wealthy family out there waiting for him? Can he really change his miserable life once and for all? 

He called the butler's number from the card he got yesterday. The butler told him to go straight to the CEO's office so that everything was prepared for him. 

Nicola felt relieved that this is true after all. He entered the elevator where there were a few more people, it was crowded. Just when the elevator was about to go, another person rushed in. 

A beautiful girl came into the elevator, looking like she ran all the way to the company. She looked very worried because she was going to be late. 

She kept moving her feet for the elevator to move fast so Nicola immediately gathered she must be in a hurry. 

So he wanted the elevator to close fast but someone else stopped the door and walked in. Fortunately, when she entered the elevator, it didn't alert her of being overweight. 

But a fat man entered at that time. He tried his best to get on the elevator, when he pedalled on it, it alerted. Everyone else looked at each other. 

The fat man frowned, looking back at the two people behind him. He suddenly pointed at the both of them arrogantly. 

"You both should get out of the elevator now! Can't you read the room. You can take the stairs if you can't wait." The fat man fired at Nicola and the girl. 

Both Nicola and the girl are in awe. Who the hell is this man and what is he feeling like asking them to get out of the elevator for him?

They were both angry because they got there first and someone from nowhere wanted them out of the elevator. 

"Are you both trying to act dumb or what? Didn't you hear me ask you to get out?" The fat man fired at them again, seeing they refused to listen to him. 

The fat man was observing the girl. She did not like the way he was looking at her. In fact, she felt like it would just be better if she got out of the elevator. 

Nicola sneered, "Why should we listen to you? We came first and you want us to get out? Why don't you just leave first?"

They heard everyone gasp in the elevator when Nicola said that. The fat man was more angry hearing Nicola's statement. 

"What? How dare you talk back to me? Do you know who I am?" The fat man yelled at him. 

Nicola looked at the girl beside him, she wasn't comfortable because she was still in a hurry. The fat man's eyes also went there. 

"I don't care who you are. Why don't you just get out of the elevator now and stop wasting our time? Everyone is in a hurry you see." 

The fat man was furious because they ignored his order and Nicola insulted him. He looked at the girl again and tried to pull her dress with a skeezy eye. 

"You both dare ignore my order? I don't think I've seen your faces around here and now I am marking them." 

Nicola scoffed, "You can use a marker if you want. Just get out of this elevator, you are wasting my time and patience." 

The fat man hated Nicola's confidence so he decided to face the girl instead. He would deal with Nicola later on. 

"Why don't you come out with me instead? You and I should go up together then." 

The girl was uncomfortable with the man touching her so she screamed. Nicola already had enough of the annoying man who won't leave the elevator. 

"What do you think you are doing?" Nicola yelled and kicked the fat man on the belly. 

The fat man fell out of the elevator, on the floor and the door started closing. The girl was terrified so Nicola pressed the button quickly. 

"You should try walking the stairs. Maybe you'll lose enough weight if you do that everyday." Nicola tipped the fat man. 

The fat man cussed as the elevators closed, they could hear his voice even as the elevator was lifting up. 

"How dare you?! I am going to make you regret this! You don't know who you just messed with! You both are done for this company!"

Nicola shook his head, thinking to himself. “He doesn't know what he is in for. I'll be the one to carry out that threat.”

Nicola wondered how the company manager kept people like that fat man around. The fact that he goes around harassing the employees means this is not his first time. 

Why do other people have to put up with his arrogance and all? The girl was staring at Nicola all this time. She made a mysterious smile. 

"Hi, my name is Liliana. Thanks a lot for saving me." She thanked him, stretching her hand for a handshake. 

Nicola nodded, taking the handshake. "Nice to meet you. I am Nicola." 

She nodded, "Nicola, you are familiar though."

Nicola got confused. Does she know him before they met now? Then was she pretending not to know him at all?

"Do you know me? I don't think I know you." He inquired from her. 

She shook her head, "Probably not. You look like someone I know." 

"Today is my first day at work. I can't believe I had to start it with that annoying man." She muttered. 

"The same goes for me. I am new here, some people just know how to ruin your day." 

At this time, one of the employees in the elevator spoke up, cutting their conversation short. 

"You both did the wrong thing, you know. You shouldn't have kicked him out of the elevator." The employee said. 

Nicola looked back at the person who talked and frowned, "Are you defending him right now?"

"I am not defending him. I am just telling you this for your own good. That man holds a high position in this company and it won't be good for both of you unless you're higher than him." 

It then hit Nicola what the employee was trying to tell them. But Nicola wasn't worried since he would be holding the highest position in the company. 

However, he saw the girl fidgeting her fingers. It seems she is worried about the issue. 

"Come on, there's no way you'll be in the same department with him." He tried to comfort her.
