Revenge Continued

Dorian’s eyes went wide hearing that. His hands turned into a fist as he was ready to punch that girl in front of him.

He was just about to go towards her when suddenly the lawyer arrived.

Dorian had also brought his lawyer with him. He called out to him before he even got out of the house and told him the location where he had to come to.

He asked the lawyer to get the divorce papers ready and bring them with him.

“Sir, the divorce papers are ready. Would you like to go inside and sign them?” The lawyer asked, stepping beside Dorian.

“No. I don’t want to go to a house where bitch like her lives. I will sign it here.” With that, Dorian got the divorce papers from the lawyer’s hands.

Putting the papers on the bonnet of the car, he signed them with no feelings for that girl anymore. After hearing what she had just said to him, he wasn't even sad any longer.

“Looks like I am free again. Fake people are out of my life now.”

With a smile plastered on his face Dorian turned around and threw the papers at Emily. Emily was taken back by his behaviour. She was expecting him to beg her not to leave him but his whole demeanour seemed to have changed.

‘What happened to him?’ She couldn’t help but think.

Dorian snapped his fingers in front of Emily who was standing in a daze holding the divorce papers in her hands.

“Sign them now. Or are you regretting it now?” Dorian’s lips twitched up into a satisfying smirk.

He had everything in his control now and was definitely going to make her regret it but not now. He was just going to make her sign the divorce papers and after she would have no way of coming close to him again then he would make her life miserable.

Emily scoffed, “In your dreams.”

She put the papers on the bonnet too and after getting the pen from the lawyer she signed it.

“Here you go. I hope I never see you again in my life.” She pushed the papers towards him.

Getting the papers from her hand he gazed at them before he said, “Good girl. Now I will make sure you regret your existence.”

With that Henry pushed the papers towards his lawyer and went towards his car. Sitting in it he gave her a last glance before wearing his shades and drove away from there.

Dorian reached his house and went directly to his room. Lying down on the bed in his dimly lit room, he sighed with relief before he thought about the system again.

He muttered to himself, "Now how can I call that system again?”

He started to think about it and said, “Hey System?”

“System, start.”

“System, come in front of me.”

He said loudly to no one in particular, hoping that the system would appear in front of him. But even after he chanted those orders like some kind of spell for some time the system still didn’t not come in front of him.

He groaned with frustration, “Ahhh where are you, system? I need you."

Dorian thought to wait for some time as he laid on the bed again gazing at the ticking clock watch hanging on the wall in front of him, "Wait a minute. Did the system go away? It won’t give me anymore money? No. No. I just need to figure out how to call it back."

As he recalled how effortlessly he had summoned the system so many times, he smiled,  "Focus, Dorian. I can still do it. Concentrate. System, appear!"

But nothing happened. There was no sign of the screen in the room. Dorian clenched his fists. "This can't be it. I won't accept it."

There was a sharp growl from his stomach, reminding him of his hunger, "I can't even order a pizza. What do I do now?"

As Dorian considered his options, he felt his mind racing. "I spent all my money on that car and house. I'll have to wait until my account gets recharged."

Eventually, exhaustion overtook him, and he sighed in defeat. "I can't think straight on an empty stomach. Maybe I should sleep for some time."

As he drifted into light sleep, his last conscious thought was a request to the system. "Please, come back. I can't do this alone."

The next morning, Dorian woke up. Rubbing his eyes he pushed his body up from the bed. Even though he used to sleep on the lavish bed of his wife before too, this felt different.

He was the owner of that house, that room, that bed, all of the things belonged to him. He wasn’t living depending on anyone any longer and it gave him a sense of relief.

Upon opening his eyes, he saw the translucent projection of the system's holographic screen.

Dorian grinned, feeling a rush of relief and joy. "Finally! You're back! I thought I'd lost you."

The voice came out of the hologram.

[ Your account has been recharged. ]

Dorian practically jumped out of bed, with excitement, "That's fantastic news!”

[ Current Balance: 1 Million $ ]

[ Spend it by 12:00 ]

“Of course. I think I might spend it all in the morning only.”

As he continued lying on the bed, he began to ponder on his thoughts.

He muttered to himself, "If I keep spending money like this every day, what if the system disappears? I won't have anything left then."

Dorian's mind was racing with possibilities. He needed a more comprehensive plan, something that would ensure his future even if other plans were made by the system. There was a spark of inspiration in his eyes.

"I know what I'll do. I'll buy a company."

Dorian remembered his classmate Alex, who always talked about starting up a business one day. He was studying business subjects at that time. Dorian decided to reach out to him. Taking out his smartphone, he scrolled through his contacts until he found Alex's number. With a tap, he called him.

After a few rings, Alex answered with a casual tone. "Hello?"

"Hey, Alex? It’s me Dorian," he replied confidently. "Remember me from college?"

After a brief pause, Alex's tone changed, reflecting recognition. "Dorian? Wow, you are still alive? I am shocked."

He laughed saying that while Dorian scrunched his nose hearing that.

Dorian got straight to the point. "I wanted to meet up with you. I have something you might be interested in."

Alex scoffed, sounding suspicious. "Really? Do you have something I would be interested in? I don’t think so plus I'm pretty busy these days."

Dorian leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips. "Let's just say you would be. How about we meet at a restaurant? My treat."

Alex's tone shifted again, this time with a hint of amusement he said, “Alright. Come to Dobaris restaurant. But I hope you will bring some money so that you won't have to wash the dishes later."

“Don’t worry. I know what I am doing.”

"Sure, I'll be there," replied Alex, sounding slightly surprised by Dorian's sudden invitation.

Dorian ended the call with that.

Getting up from the bed he decided to wear some clothes which would make Alex jealous even more. It was clear that Alex was taunting him and that Dorian was still poor, in his mind. But Dorian instead of saying anything wanted to show him what he could do now.

He remembered how all the kids in school and college used to bully him just because his family disowned him and he was poor.

He went to his wardrobe but found only one shirt hanging there in the closet and even that was worn out.

“Looks like I need to do some shopping before going.”

With that Dorian grabbed his car keys and moved out of the house. His car was standing in his garage in all its glory. Seeing it Dorian couldn’t help but smirk.

Soon he ignited the car’s engine and drove off to the nearest mall.

Soon he reached there and parked the car. Getting out of the car he let his eyes wander around the area. Dorian could see people in rich designer dresses moving around.

‘I can’t believe I am one of these people now. No one can look down on me anymore.’ He proudly said to himself, causing a smile to appear on his lips.

Soon he went inside the mall. He couldn't help but notice the well-maintained shops displaying the latest fashion trends as he strolled through the mall. He knew exactly which brand to explore, a name closely associated with luxury and style. As he walked into the well-lit store, he took in the sleek displays of clothing and accessories.

Almost instantly, a salesgirl approached him, her perfectly styled hair and designer outfit completely opposite to Dorian's. When she glanced at his faded jeans and scuffed sneakers, she could not hide her disdain.

Her tone was polite but distant, clearly expecting a quick dismissal, as she asked, "What do you need, sir?"."

In spite of her judgement, Dorian remained calm. "I would like to see your latest collection."

Her judgmental eyes flicked once more over Dorian's clothes as she hesitated for a moment. Seeing that someone dressed like him couldn't possibly afford the items in the store, she decided to humour him and fetch the manager.

Moments later, she returned with the manager, dressed in a sharp pantsuit. Dorian's manager assessed him carefully before speaking to him.

As she inquired with practised courtesy, "How can I help you today?"?

There was a subtle shift in the manager's demeanour, her tone more professional and accommodating than the salesgirl. Nevertheless, he could sense a doubt under the surface.

"I'd like to see your latest collection," Dorian said calmly.

In a barely perceptible nod, the manager signalled to the salesgirl to fetch the requested items. During her disappearance, Dorian overheard the salesgirl speaking in hushed tones with her manager.

Her voice was full of disgust as she whispered, "I can't believe he thinks he can shop here. Look at what he's wearing! I bet he's just here to rob us."

Dorian's jaw clenched at her audacity, but he decided to take the high road. When the salesgirl returned with an array of clothing from the latest collection, Dorian examined them with genuine interest.

"I'll take everything you've brought," Dorian said calmly, making sure his voice carried throughout the store.

Her cheeks flushed crimson in shock as her eyes widened in shock. It took the manager a moment to comprehend what had just happened.

He continued, his gaze unwavering. I will pay for everything in advance. Please pack the entire collection."

The salesgirl stammered as she struggled to cope with the unexpected turn of events. As she led Dorian to the counter to complete the purchase, her earlier assumptions were shattered.

Soon the payment was successful. The salesgirl and the manager were shocked as the whole payment was 20,000$ and he paid for it without any difficulty.

He gave them his address and told them to send all the clothes there by tomorrow while he wore a set of clothes himself and got out of the mall.

Soon he reached the restaurant.

As he stepped out of his sleek car, he couldn't help but smirk. As he closed the door behind him, he could still hear the low hum of the engine. He could sense admiring glances and hushed whispers as he approached the restaurant entrance.

A group of girls nearby began whispering excitedly. “What a cool guy! Did you see him?"

“The car is amazing, too!"

“He's like a celebrity!"

The satisfaction Dorian felt couldn't be denied even as he pretended not to notice. Just a few days earlier, it was a stark contrast. With his new confidence and success, he drew attention wherever he went.

He found his classmate at a corner table in the restaurant. Clearly not expecting Dorian to arrive in such style, his classmate's eyes widened in surprise as he approached.
