RACE TRACK

Alarick finished his dinner and was about to head to bed when he decided to check up on his father because he seemed really upset after leaving the dining room earlier. He walked to his bedroom door and knocked. No one answered. He knocked again and still there was no reply.

Alarick chose to open the door and peep inside. He did and saw Cillian laying on the floor clutching a picture of his late mother, tears coating his eyes and cheeks. Cillian had fallen asleep crying over the fact that he couldn’t do anything to save her. Seeing Micah had made him remember his past and it hurt too much. He blamed himself and could do nothing now but to drown his sorrows in alcohol. A bottle of vodka laid beside him discarded on the floor half drunk, another empty bottle beside it.

Alarick sighed and stepped into the room. He crouched down to his sleeping father’s body and could smell the alcohol from his opened mouth. He lifted Cillian off the ground and rested him on his bed. Alarick picked up
