"Shit! Shit! Shit!"
Merrick was in the midsts of the spectators as Tyler made quick work of the waiters showcasing his new strengths.
His legs shook and he gasped in shock.
"What did I just see? He's... a monster!" he exclaimed, sweating heavily.
"Wait, what will that crazy guy do if he sees me? I can't fight him now, he'll definitely want revenge for messing with him in the original timeline."
Merrick turned and ran away from the group, giving up on reaching the food area.
"What's the use of getting food if I won't live long enough to eat it?"
But Tyler had already seen Merrick among the crowd. Merrick was the only one moving while everyone else stayed frozen in shock. A small smile appeared on Tyler's face, which was unusual for him.
"Where do you think you're going, you worthless jerk?" Dealing with Merrick would be easy, especially with Tyler's new speed and strength.
The idea of stopping Merrick's mischief and finally getting revenge felt good.
But just as he was about to move forward, a system notification appeared in his vision.
"SKILL ON COOL DOWN!"
Tyler sighed softly, his smile disappearing. "What the? Of all the time!"
The cooldown for his Blitz Skill meant he couldn't use it again for another ten minutes.
Tyler dismissed the cooldown inconvenience with a nonchalant shrug. "It's irrelevant. I have the strength to deal with that scoundrel without relying on Blitz."
Seizing the opportunity, Tyler swiftly grabbed the loot before vaulting over the counter. All eyes were fixed on him as he landed on the opposite side with a resounding thud, causing the serving area to tremble beneath his feet.
Without hesitation, Tyler traversed the room in a blink, effectively obstructing Merrick's intended path.
"And just where do you think you're scurrying off to, Merr?" he questioned, a menacing crack resonating from his knuckles. "We have unfinished business."
Merrick stumbled back, startled by Tyler's sudden appearance. He widened his eyes in shock.
"Tyler!" Merrick exclaimed. "How did you get here so fast?" He frowned, then gasped as he realized something. "You got a gift from a divine!" That was the only plausible reason.
"Yeah, and now... I shall unleash the fury of payback upon you for your sins. Are you truly prepared to face the consequences of your actions and repent?"
Suddenly, a bright blue light beamed down behind them, it was the means of transportation for the Streaming imps.
Emerging from the portal was Streaming Imp Ferahn.
" Huh? Something interesting is happening here. " Her voice rang with distortion.
Tyler clicked his tongue, "If an Imp is here that could only mean the Divines are watching..."
True to his words, Ferahn came accompanied by several camera-like system windows. She turned to the camera and smiled, "It's show time."
"Ferahn here, broadcasting live from Planet Delta-Seven."
"I'm saved," Merrick exclaimed, a glimmer of hope igniting in his eyes as he looked to Ferahn for potential salvation.
"Streaming Imp Ferahn!" Merrick cried out, pointing an accusing finger at Tyler. "This individual manipulated the system, acquiring a class prematurely! Justice must be served!"
"Regrettably, our system indicates that Tyler is not affiliated with any class," Ferahn replied, extinguishing Merrick's flicker of hope with her stark declaration.
Tyler shook his head disdainfully, a sardonic smirk curling his lips. "Save your breath. No one is coming to rescue you."
Before Merrick could muster a response, Tyler delivered a devastating blow to his abdomen, the force of which shattered his insides.
With a sickening thud, Merrick's lifeless body collided with the wall, bringing an abrupt end to his existence.
Tyler stood over him, emotionless.
"He's dead," Tyler said, finality in his voice. "Good."
The onlookers were wide-eyed with shock and fear. Even Ferahn was surprised.
"Such power..."
"YOUR ACTIONS HAVE DRAWN THE ATTENTION OF SOME DIVINES"
"THE DIVINE ARTHUR IS WATCHING YOU CLOSELY"
"THE DIVINE GARUDA IS WATCHING YOU CLOSELY"
"THE DIVINE LITCHT IS WATCHING YOU CLOSELY"
The stream of messages was not unexpected.
"In one way or another, I was bound to attract their attention," Tyler reflected, his recent display of lethal force leaving his opponent incapacitated with a single decisive blow.
"Tsk," Tyler clicked his tongue disapprovingly. "Those individuals treat us like mere pawns in their twisted game."
"Well, I suppose it's not entirely unwelcome," Tyler admitted, aware of the Divines' penchant for rewarding acts of chaos and disruption to the established order.
The Divines reveled in the spectacle of turmoil, and Tyler had certainly delivered.
Ferahn's whistle interrupted the contemplative silence. "Would you look at that! Your chat feed is buzzing with activity. You're already garnering quite the following, particularly among the more sinister factions of the Divine hierarchy. They're eager to learn more about you."
"YOU HAVE RECEIVED A LOT OF COINS."
"Good," Tyler muttered as he checked how many coins he had.
The more coins Tyler accumulated, the more resources and skills he could unlock.
Tyler scanned the area for Liz, "There you are."
"COOL DOWN FOR BLITZ REFRESHED."
"Blitz!"
In a split second he appeared in front of her startling her momentarily.
"Ty-Ty, you got the supplies?"
"Yeah, unfortunately I drew attention to myself."
"I saw the beam, a streaming Imp is here."
"On the bright side, I got alot of coins, now we can proceed, let's leave."
Liz smiled nervously. "Okay, Ty-Ty."
Suddenly, A loud scream rang out, drawing their attention.
"What was that?"
"They're here..."
As in on cue, everybody received a system notification...
"THE MONSTERS ARE HERE, KILL OR BE KILLED."
Tyler used his heightened sense to find the source of the scream.
"What do you see?"
"Kobolds..."
The gruesome scene unfolded as the Kobolds advanced, the Monsters invaded the ball room, they were armed and moved incredibly fast.
"Tch, we have no choice but to fight." One of the students stated.
"Get ready!" a student shouted, wielding a chair. "Defend yourselves!"
The clash threw the campus into chaos, watched by the Divines.
Tyler punched a kobold that came charging at him knocking him out with a single strike.
"This is odd..." He said as he kicked another one away while grabbing Liz's hand. "Kobolds are level 5 monsters, they're way too dangerous for this trial. What's happening?"
"True," Said Liz. "The first trial usually had weaker monsters like goblins."
"Could it be... Because of me?"
Tyler's abilities had caused an uproar with the Divines. They blasted Ferahn's channel for cheating so to avoid accusations and to calm the Divines, Ferahn raised the difficulty of the trial.
"But fighting monsters without skills or weapons seemed impossible!"
Tyler focused on the Kobold attack. "There's only one thing we can do now... We're kill monsters to earn coins and find a way out. Stay close. We don't want to get separated."
"Yes Ty-Ty!"
Together, they charged at nearby Kobolds. The battle was completely one-sided. Tyler kept knocking out the Kobolds with single blows.
The other students watched with awe as the regressor kept sending bodies of the monsters flying in different directions.
Liz did her best, using a Kobold's sword to defend herself. Though not as strong as Tyler, she held her own.
"This is too easy... I don't even need to use any of my skills."
Tyler's physical strength allowed him to make quick work of the Kobolds without so much as breaking a sweat.
It took them less than 10 minutes to clear the area.
Ferahn watched as Tyler made quick work of the Kobolds."What on earth is going on?" She panicked yanking her hair. "I'm losing more viewers!""I've already raised the difficulty level to persuade my viewers, this will only ruin me. Nobody wants to watch a boring scene such as this. What do I do!?"Ferahn decided to check Tyler's status but she received an error message."ACCESS DENIED."Ferahn plopped to the floor."Just who on earth is this human and what entity is backing him? I'll have to see Yoon about this."Ferahn summoned the beam of light and beamed away. The Dimension between the 3rd and 4th dimension was the home and work place of the streaming Imp. Ferhan stormed through the hallways of the Streaming Imp headquarters. She stopped in front of a door with a tag "Head Administrator."Ferahn knocked before entering, an Imp with Red horns was seated at a desk."Ferahn, what brings you here?" he asked."It's about a certain human..." Ferahn proceeded to tell him about the troubl
The setting was a corporate office building nestled in the heart of the bustling city.Sarah stirred, her head throbbing as she regained consciousness upon the frigid concrete floor. Slowly, she sat upright, surveying her stark surroundings. The room lay barren, illuminated by harsh fluorescent lights casting a pallid glow against the dreary gray walls. In the distance, faint murmurs of voices mingled with the mechanical hum of unseen machinery."Where am I?" Sarah muttered to herself, grappling with fragmented memories. The abyss of darkness from her previous existence lingered in her mind.In the previous timeline, Sarah was a merciless assassin, she was dubbed the queen of the night. Beautiful, fast and blessed with an Overpowered skill, Sarah was nearly invincible. She had an unbeaten record in 1v1's... That was until she encountered Tyler. He was the first person to defeat her in a fight that too during the night when her powers were at their peak. After that, Sarah fell for Tyle
"CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR LEVEL HAS RISEN...""CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR LEVEL HAS RISEN...""CONGRATULATIONS, YOUR LEVEL HAS RISEN..."Tyler couldn't tell how many times the system window kept popping up in front of him.But by the time the level up notification ended... "Status."Tyler viewed his stats. "Level 17 already... Nice.""Ty-Ty, I've reached level 13!" Liz cheered."DING! THE FIRST TRIAL IS OVER.""THE FIRST TRIAL HAS ENDED, CONGRATULATIONS FOR SURVIVING.""THE SURVIVORS WILL BE GIVEN A CLASS CHIP." All the survivors except Tyler received Class chips. They ranged between C-B class chips.Usually it would have been E-C, but given the heightened difficulty caused by Ferahn, the rewards were adjusted. As for Liz who had second place in contribution, she received the A-Grade Class Chip- Thunder empress. ""Congrats, Liz."Liz's cheeks flushed."Together?" She asked him with a smile."Alright then," He smiled back. They both pulled out their class chips and used them."YOU HAVE CHANG
"Ty-Ty, what route do you think we should we take to get off campus?"Tyler began to consider their options..."The main gate seemed the most straightforward route, but it wasn't without risks. I'd like to avoid any further distractions."Liz suggested, "Why not just power through the main gate? There are only low-level monsters there, right?"Tyler shook his head as he gave her a look of concern."Can't show off too much strength," he said, keeping his voice low."If I make things too easy, the Divines might get bored. That could lead to problems. They're already keeping a close eye on my actions. We should take a different route."Liz nodded as she understood his point."The path behind the college, then?" she asked, recalling a quieter exit."Sounds good," Tyler replied, as he leads the way toward the back exit. The duo arrived at the edge the broken college wall. They arrived at the remains of the falling-apart buildings, greeted by the sight of destruction and chaos left by the
With the info from the scavengers, Tyler found where the Drake was. Now, he, Liv, and his Radiant Spawns went to its nest. The thick forest surrounded them, casting spooky shadows.Tyler wanted to level up and make his light army stronger by getting the Drake on his side. He saw a chance and stayed alert. Suddenly, he heard a noise, a sign of danger.Quickly, he told his Spawns to stop and get ready for a fight. Out of the forest came mutated beasts, big wolves with strange features. Some stood like humans, surprising everyone.A big fight started between the Spawns and the strange beasts. Despite their scary noises, Tyler saw them as a way to get more experience. With a smile, he told his Spawns, "Beat them."Tyler, Liv and the Radiant Spawns sprang into action, they made thw ferocious looking wolves to resemble lost defenseless puppies.Tyler and the blind light swordswoman slashed through the wolves shredding through their ranks with ease."Die! Die! Die!" Liv once again revealed h
The Drake closes in letting out another roar, louder than the last as the ground once again quakes beneath their feet. The Drake hovered over the party as it casted its preying eyes letting out a growl.Tyler's heightened senses allowed him to deduce the stats of the beast."Level 35..." He muttered, "It's no pushover alright."Despite the vast difference between their levels, Tyler was not intimated by the presence of the dragon-like creature. If anything, he was glad he didn't have to spend hours looking for the Drake. His meal was brought to him. Tyler manifests his light katana, as he prepares for battle. He glances at the Drake's razor-sharp claws, venomous tail barb, and thick hide with keen focus. Being calm was one of Tyler's greatest weapons. His mind was already calculating the most strategic approach to victory."Attack," He ordered his long-range Spawns to attack. Archers fired glowing light arrows and the mages fired multiple spells. However, the Drake remained unfazed. J
Tyler heard a voice in his head...."Don't accept.""Huh? Who the heck are you?""I am unknown.""TYLER FLINT, IT IS RUDE TO KEEP YOUR BENEFACTOR WAITING." The Night walker declared with a hint of rage."Sorry... Mister uhm, Night Crawler.""I WILL FORGIVE THIS TRANSGRESSION ONCE, WHAT IS YOUR CHOICE?"Tyler instantly dropped the formal tone and addressed the Divine King the way he normally spoke."If you want me to sign a contract with you, I require one thing... An Absolute skill." He declared boldly, his voice unwavering despite the tension in the air.The Divine's reaction was immediate, its expression contorting with rage."AN ABSOLUTE SKILL? DO YOU DARE TO MAKE SUCH DEMANDS, A MERE MORTAL WANTS AN ABSOLUTE SKILL?" his voice thundered, shaking the very area. But Tyler remained steadfast."Without an Absolute Skill, the contract holds no value to me," he asserted, his gaze steady as he stared down the celestial being before him. "That's my deal breaker, so if you want me to be your
The Streaming Imp's blue light beamed down, illuminating her form as she reappeared before him.A smile played at Ferahn's lips as their eyes met. Tyler rolled his eyes and sighed."You've made up your mind already?" she inquired, her carried a tone of amusement with it. She was feeling confident thinking she had the upper hand.Ferahn exuded an aura of calm assurance, her demeanor betraying her certainty that she had presented Tyler with an irresistible offer. Surely, he wouldn't dare to reject it."I must say, I didn't expect to hear from you so soon," Ferahn remarked, a smug look crossing her features as she subtly reveled in her own cleverness. Her words carried a hint of satisfaction, as if she had anticipated Tyler's swift response and found validation in his prompt decision-making.Tyler met her gaze evenly. "Well I have... Regarding the contract..."With a subtle smile playing at the corners of her lips, Ferahn leaned in closer, her expression one of quiet confidence. "Ah, I
