"Then what about my friends who don't know about this?" asked Arryn. He was shocked and worried about the condition of his three group mates.
“In each reference book, the risks are explained if you choose the wrong Arcana. If they're careful, they'll be able to do it right,” replied Quentin, walking up to Arryn while carrying a book about Arcana.
Quentin opened the book and showed the arcana items in each type. Before he could start crafting it for Arryn, Quentin needed to explain this important matter to him.
“Though I will guide you, you should know five items in the attack type arcana, starting from Spirity, Examiner, Bloodline, Yoaxin, and Cleave. Each item has a different status increase,” replied Quentin, pointing to the five red round items with a different symbol in the center of the circle.
Not only the attack type arcana, but Quentin also explained the heal and support type Arcana. He needed to explain the three because, according to Quentin, Arcana's healing and support were useful for Arryn's survival when fighting.
“For Arcana, heal consists of Lux, Crosslife, Purify, Alter, and Fier. As for support, namely Areacane, Secretlife, Lightspell, Orion, and Sarana," explained Quentin.
"Do I have to memorize everything?" asked Arryn.
Quentin explained that Arryn didn't need to memorize the names. Arryn just needed to know which items he needed and which matched his original magic. Quentin also told Arryn that he would understand all the arcana items as time passed.
“Those are the arcana items you should know about. Alright, we'd better start crafting your Arcana," replied Quentin, pulling a wooden chair while both hands placed the reference book on his office table.
Arryn began to stretch his right hand forward, his mouth moving to read a magic spell to open his arcana runes.
[Summoning System: Open Rune Arcana]
Suddenly a blue panel appeared in front of Arryn in the same condition as when it was in the library; none of it was filled. Quentin looked closely at the panel, though it wasn't very clear.
"All right. Now you look at this book,” Quentin requested, pointing to the detailed item section for each arcana type.
Arryn's eyes turned downwards, following the direction of Quentin's finger. Arryn could see the difference in the status increase in each item carefully.
“Now, before I choose a suitable arcana for you. I will let you choose five arcana items that you think are suitable according to your strengths," Quentin asked, trying to test his son's arcana selection strategy.
Arryn remained silent for a while. His thoughts and feelings were going wild, thinking about what items were appropriate for him.
If you looked at Arryn's goal of avenging his death when he was Alan, then Arryn thought of filling most of the circle with attack-type Arcana.
Spirity gives Arryn a 4.5 increase in ability power status and 0.8 attack speed. The Examiner gives an increase in status in the form of 2.5 magic power and 2.2 magic pierce.
Yoaxin also provides several status increases for Arryn, in the form of 2.5 ability power and 1.2 magic power. Bloodline provides a 10% increase in status for magic lifesteal and ability power of 2.5.
Lastly, Cleave provides an increase of 15% magic lifesteal and an attack speed of 1.2.
Apart from the attack-type Arcana, Arryn also saw differences in the healing and support Arcana. Arryn concluded that the healing Arcana provided many status increases in the form of max HP, life steal, magic defense, and armor reduction.
While the increase in status for arcana support is more for HP regen, magic defense, armor defense, and magic rage.
Quentin watched Arryn's face carefully. The man didn't know whether Arryn understood these items or not.
“Do you get it, Arryn?” Quentin asked.
Arryn nodded. He also said he had determined what items he thought could be applied.
Quentin was excited, with a smile spreading across his face, “Really? Then tell me."
"I chose Spirity, Cleave, Bloodline, Crosslife, and Lightspell," Arryn answered. Quentin nodded several times.
What Arryn put together really wasn't that bad. Crosslife items will increase Arryn's maximum HP status, and Lightspell to increase magic defense.
Meanwhile, the remaining three items focus on magic power and lifesteal. Quentin doesn't mind the support and healing arcana because they don't really have much of an impact in terms of visible impact.
However, Quentin disagreed with Arryn's arrangement of attack arcana. Lifesteal was an admirable stat, but it didn't match up with Arryn's original magic. Lifesteal can only greatly impact those who have original magic like necromancer/ summoning mage.
Quentin recommended that Arryn put together Examiner and Cleave. With these two items, Arryn gets an increase in abilities and magic power, as well as lifesteal and attack speed.
"Is there something wrong?" Arryn asked, concerned by Quentin's silent response.
“There's nothing wrong. It's just that you'll progress so slowly. You're only focusing on lifesteal in attack items. It doesn't suit your abilities," Quentin replied.
"Then what do you think I should use?" Arryn asked, confused.
Quentin pointed at the Examiner item with the symbol of three spheres forming a triangle, and the Cleave, which was a leaf with a wind line. Arryn looked carefully, including the status details given.
"Two are enough for attack items, use one more for magic rage," Quentin explained.
The magic rage that Quentin meant was Sarana, meaning Quentin's suggestions for Arryn's Arcana were Examiner, Cleave, Crosslife, Lightspell, and Sarana.
Quentin had actually set up another, stronger Arcana, but he couldn't do it, seeing that Arryn's arcana line-up almost matched his.
“How is it? You will get an increase in all attack stats and additional HP, magic defense, and magic rage," Quentin replied, sitting back in his wooden chair.
"What is magic rage?" asked Arryn.
“Magic rage will activate if your HP or MP falls below safe. You will feel great strength rising in your body when you are in a critical condition,” Quentin explained, Arryn nodded several times while looking at the arcana items in the book.
“Are you sure that this arcana suits me?” asked Arryn. Somehow his heartfelt anxiety, afraid that the arcana arrangement would not match.
"I'm sure," Quentin explained.
Arryn and Quentin looked at each other for a few minutes. Before long, Arryn agreed to Quentin's suggestion and started placing the items in the arcana tree.
Arryn's right hand touched each empty circle, selecting the appropriate arcana item according to Quentin's suggestion until all the empty circles were filled. The submit menu, which previously could not be pressed, can now be done after all Arcana have been filled in.
[You have succeeded in applying the Arcana]
[Arcana activated]
Arryn felt that something had entered his body, neither visible nor smelly. He felt his heart excited with the comfortable feeling that came together.
"What happened to me?" Arryn asked, asking while closing his eyes.
“That is the initial stage of adapting the Arcana to your original magic. Don't worry. Those adjustments won't have a fatal impact on your body," Quentin replied, closing the book about the Arcana as he walked over to his bookshelf.
The adjustment stage consists of two stages: the initial and finalization. The initial adjustment stage lasts about five minutes with different feelings for each magic user; some are comfortable, cool, cold, hot, anxious, restless, and the most extreme is dizziness.
Then comes the final adjustment stage, the finalization stage. The finalization stage will occur when the change of day occurs. So, Arryn will feel this stage when he falls asleep at night; many don't realize it because most of them are asleep.
About five minutes passed, and the feeling of comfort and excitement from Arryn's body began to fade. Arryn no longer felt that, and his body returned to normal.
"How do I know if the arcana is working properly?" asked Arryn.
"You need to battle with someone. Of course, you have to do it tomorrow," Quentin replied, taking a seat behind his desk.
"Why?"
“Because your Arcana didn't fuse at all until midnight. So, rest or go to the library to learn something."
Quentin started to open his document, writing down what he had done in the document. Arryn nodded; at least he believed what Quentin told him.
Arryn stood straight while looking at the arrangement of bookshelves in Quentin's office, "Can I have a look at the books?"
Quentin looked up at Arryn, pointing at his book stack. In the end, he lets Arryn find whatever book he wants.
"What exactly do you need?" Quentin asked flatly.
“Information about dimensional magic.”

*** The next day. "How are you feeling after the arcana arrangement yesterday?" asked Ivy, perched on a wooden chair with both eyes on Arryn. Arryn was still lying on his bed because he had nothing else to do. Lucas, Aurora, and Lorelei were still busy with their unfinished Arcana. Among the fifteen apprentices, Arryn was the only one who had finished crafting the Arcana. "Quentin said that the stage of adjusting Arcana to my body ended at midnight. I don't feel any different," Arryn replied, raising his right hand before his face. "It seems like your Arcana has integrated with your body well," Ivy said. Arryn nodded as he closed his eyes. "Then, do you have anything to do today?" Ivy asked again. Arryn was silent. The next lesson in Riviela's class would take place next week, so Arryn had plenty of time from today until next week. The books Arryn had read in Quentin's office weren't helping. No single text could explain dimensional magic's origin nor how to control it. Arryn
They immediately took their seats in a room commonly used for discussions. Aurora took the seat adjacent to Lorelei while Lucas took his seat at the side of the table. Lorelei began to open her reference book as she pointed out the arcana items written in it. Aurora and Lucas watched with moving eyes. Aurora nodded her head several times. She already knew the items of each type of Arcana, but Aurora chose to remain silent to avoid acting arrogant in front of her friends. "Before you choose the items to be attached, you must understand what the Arcana is," said Arryn, sitting on the opposite side of Lucas. "I already understand what Arcana is. Can we continue to discuss these items?" asked Lorelei. Arryn looked at Lucas and Aurora, and they nodded in agreement with Lorelei's proposal. The three of them had learned what Arcana was and its functions yesterday. Not only that, Aurora had even made some plans for the items she would use. "You'd better show us your Arcana and explain wh
Arryn invited Aurora, standing next to him, to enter the portal. At first, she was afraid and anxious, but after Arryn convinced her, she decided to enter the portal of light. Aurora was surprised when her feet felt like she was stepping on something warm and soft. The girl kept walking out of curiosity until she stopped in front of a shady coconut tree. Arryn followed Aurora from behind as he looked right and left. He and Aurora were now on a seemingly deserted island. White sand, blue waves, and shady trees welcomed the sea wind. Now, Arryn again didn't know which world he was in. "So, your original magic power is time and space travel?" asked Aurora, her eyes rounding as if impressed by Arryn's magic. "Something like that," replied Arryn, walking to Aurora, playing near the seashore. "Wow, that's awesome magic!" praised Aurora. Arryn smiled as he joined the girl in the water. The two of them enjoyed the moment together until the sun began to fall into the evening. Aurora sat
"Fifth day? I haven't arranged my Arcana yet," Aurora replied. Arryn turned his head slowly to look at the girl hiding behind his back. He realized that this was all his fault. Arryn was unable to estimate how much time was spent inside the portal. "My class is over. We'll meet again next week," said Riviela. It was a coincidence that their instructors were both in the same room. "Did you give us another assignment?" asked Aurora, her mind filled with anxiety about missing Riviela's class. "You have to learn all the spells of basic five-element magic. While practicing, you may feel changes in your body according to the chosen Arcana," replied Riviela. Aurora nodded obediently. She had no problem with five-element magic considering she had mastered it long ago. However, Aurora was still worried about her Arcana, which had not been completed. "Sage Quentin. Can I ask you a favor?" asked Arryn, turning his head to look at the man standing before him. Quentin nodded, his hands folde
*** The following day Aurora's Arcana arrangement went faster than Arryn had expected. Aurora felt different compared to Arryn when adjusting the Arcana to her body. Aurora felt warm and excited after a few minutes of doing the final Arcana setup. Different feelings were felt by people, including Aurora. Now, Arryn was not with the girl. He was still silent as he stared at the roof of his bedroom. "Aren't you going to try your magic again, Arryn?" asked Ivy, staying close to Arryn. "My magic? It seems not, Ivy. Don't you remember the advice Quentin gave me?" asked Arryn, turning his head as his eyes looked at Ivy perched on the nightstand to Arryn's right. Ivy knew and remembered the advice Quentin had given Arryn, especially about the effects of the young man's original magic. Quentin had clearly said that Arryn was forbidden to use his original magic under any conditions, whether in Riviela's classes or during his spare time. "But if you worry too much about Quentin's advice,
"But Quentin must know that you've broken his advice," Ivy said. Arryn nodded. What Ivy said had some truth to it. "You're right, but even though he'll scold me, he'll be very interested when he sees what I find," Arryn replied. "I won't push you. You will do it, and you will be responsible for it," Ivy said, flying next to Arryn and starting to use her invisible ability. Arryn decided to go visit Quentin's office. He wrapped the reptilian head in a large piece of cloth to avoid panic in this place. Ivy flew off to follow Arryn wherever she went, unseen. Even though the reptilian head was well wrapped, blood continued to flow down the cloth. Surprisingly, not a single person had any intention of questioning this. They seemed to pass by unconcerned about Arryn even though they saw the strangeness in the cloth Arryn was carrying. "What caused them to be so indifferent to you, Arryn?" asked Ivy. She, too, felt the strangeness shown by the people in this place. "I don't know. It see
*** Arryn didn't understand what Quentin meant to him. Making him the most advanced magic user would take a long time. Arryn wondered, would Quentin teach him directly about it? He and Ivy began to leave Quentin's office after there was nothing more to talk about. The two left, heading toward the Obelisk library. Unlike them, the apprentices in Riviela's class began practicing basic magic skills. Arryn certainly didn't want to be left behind them. He borrowed a book on basic magic and started practicing it in the backyard of the Obelisk tower. "I don't understand Quentin's intention at all," Ivy said, discussing what Quentin had said to them earlier. "I'm sure he was too excited about the discovery to imagine such a thing," Arryn said. "But to reach the Noble Tier takes a long time. There are many requirements you must complete," Ivy replied. Arryn agreed with Ivy's words. After all, it took a lot of effort to reach that level. Arryn was sure that Quentin also took much time to
In Alicia's eyes, the color of mana released by Arryn was dark blue, almost reaching black. In contrast to Quentin and the others, it was more light-colored such as red, yellow, light blue, green, and white. "Do you know where your strength comes from, Arryn?" asked Alicia. Arryn wondered what Alicia meant by saying that. Did she want to know about Erina? According to Arryn, there was nothing important to tell Alicia about the origin of her powers. "Everyone else doesn't know about it because they get it at birth," Arryn explained, using someone else's analogy. Alicia continued to stare at Arryn's face with a smile. The woman realized something seeing Arryn's response. She realized that Arryn was lying to her. Even so, Alicia had no intention of bothering him further. Alicia understood that Arryn was trying to hide it because of the type of mana he had belonged to the dark type of mana. Only certain races had a type of mana like Arryn, one of them was the demon race currently at
