I'm dragged into this weird situation. They start arguing over who will fight me without asking for my approval, but all the royal magnates recoil in fear.
"Let The Majesty Crown Prince fight him!" Bartos suddenly exclaims.
Leogus laughed softly. "No. I was there when he defeated the dragon. I believe he is a Hero."
He lies. He's the one who knows I'm not a hero. He can reveal it here if he wants. Why does he hide it? He must be hiding something. Suspicious.
"Then, we have no choice. Let him fight Gargan!"
Everyone is stunned to hear that name. Leogus' grin widens, giving chills to my skin.
"It's too much to involve Gargan. That thing can kill our hero!" The King rejects that weird idea. The veins in his neck look like a flowing river on the map.
"If he dies, then he's not a hero! A hero should be able to kill Gargan!"
"Who is Gargan?" I interrupt.
Everyone's faces are getting more and more uncomfortable. However, one of them steps forward on trembling legs.
"Gargan is a creature that sealed by our ancestors. That creature has existed for thousands of years and has never died. We can only restore its power due to the seal."
"Then, why didn't the latest hero kill Gargan? I heard he was here, right?"
"He won't," Leogus answers. "No one knows why my master didn't want to kill Gargan. He just didn't want to do it."
Or he couldn't. If the real hero couldn't beat Gargan, neither can I.
They took me downstairs to a large meadow in the middle of giant trees. I feel so small, like an insect. All the people gathered around me, some looking from the tree.
They stare at me like a prisoner waiting for execution. Due to Bartos' instigation, they are now divided into two. Some cheered me on, some mocked me and even spat at me.
"He's the hero!"
"No! He must be a curse!"
The commotion get out of control. They mock each other; some even fight because of me. I don't understand how important heroes are to them to do this. I must find out where they heard about the hero and the curse. Maybe that person also knows about Amenus.
"To prove his worth, Gin The Hero will fight Gargan!" Bartos shouts very loudly.
I won't be here if it isn't for Amenus. Attracting attention is not my forte. The old me would probably faint from seeing thousands of eyes like this.
A thud sound suddenly echoes, tightening the mouths of every spectator. The ground shakes, and leaves fall to the ground. Behind a tree, a giant appeared. Its body is orange with two goat horns on its head. Gargan's skin releases profuse slime-shaped sweat. When the sweat falls, the grass will dry and smoke.
Everyone's face is pale. Me too!
I lost my mind when I fought the dragon. It was like the system did it, maybe an autopilot mode. Now, I'm wide awake. I don't know how I can fight this monster.
I don't have any sword or weapon, while Gargan comes with an iron hammer, bigger than me.
"Let the fight begin!" Bartos gives the signal.
I really hate their creature. They always decide on their own and never answer my questions.
Now, how am I supposed to defeat this giant?
[Cursed Creatures]
[Gargan]
[Release Gargan's curse to defeat it]
So this giant is cursed. How do I release its curse?
No response from the system. Damn it!
Gargan starts running towards me. The ground shakes, and the grass instantly dies. The pungent smell of sulfur wafts from the mucus that fall from its skin. It's a bad idea to touch it.
Gargan points its hammer at me and hits me with its powerful strength. I hold it before the hammer hit me. I can hear the grunts of people who are disappointed that I don't die.
I push the hammer away and make Gargan back off with it. Gargan attacks me again senselessly. Punching and hitting, Gargan starts hitting in all directions. I am busy dodging until finally, I get bored. This won't be finished by avoiding it.
I clench my fist. If I'm strong enough to endure it, I'm also strong enough to do more. When Gargan hit its hammer to me, I counter it with a fist.
Krrrak!
The giant hammer shatters. Everyone freeze, including me.
I only intended to push the hammer away with my fist to retreat further than before. I didn't know that an iron hammer could break.
I stare at my fist. "This is scary," I say quietly.
I have this question for my entire life. The system said my power had been unlimited since I was born. But why I couldn't smack Amenus back then? Why am I still weaker than him?
Is the system lying? Or is Amenus too powerful?
I have magic resistance skills, which I'm sure works when I catch fireballs from dragons. Likewise, the absolute strength skill allows me to easily remove the dragon's head. However, I still need to learn about the magic of the abyss and how it works.
I start to wonder if I am strong enough to defeat Amenus. It will be ridiculous if I die first before taking revenge. Although I'm not sure if Disaster can die. My existence itself isn't normal like other creatures.
A disaster in the form of a human. I think I'm the only one.
"Aaaaa!" Gargan's shout brings my sense back to the battle arena.
Gargan shouts angrily while jumping up and down. "I don't want to be tortured anymore! I have to kill you!"
Gargan's frustrated scream makes my heart ache a little. Those elves must have tortured Gargan cruelly.
Gargan shouts as it runs to attack me with its bare hands. I manage to dodge, but my clothes get hit by its slime and have holes like a burn mark.
Focus. To beat Gargan, I have to focus on releasing its curse. I have magic now, it must have something to do with magic.
Gargan runs to me. Its screams turn into heartbreaking cries. The elves roared with laughter at Gargan. But I can't. There's nothing funny about a tormented creature.
I don't dodge anymore this time. I let Gargan run to me. When Gargan is very close, I close my eyes and point my palm at it. I hope it's working.
"Release the curse!" No other spells came to mind, that's all I can say.
Gargan's fist touches my palm. No burning, no killing blows.
I open my eyes and see Gargan's body glowing. Gargan's body is cracked, and each of its cracks shows light within it. That body finally shatters, and a much brighter light blinds all eyes.
I could hear the rushing footsteps of the panicked elves. I stand still, waiting for what will happen. From that light, a figure emerges. It starts with a woman's silhouette, then when the light dims, it becomes real.
A gorgeous woman stands in front of me. She has tan skin with silver eyes. Her long silver hair dancing with the wind. Never in my life seen such a beautiful woman.
She wears a white robe with a silver leaf crown.
"Who are you?" I ask her carefully. I don't want to scare her.
The woman kneels down, paying respect to me.
"My name is Gargan, My Lord. Holy Sword Gargan."
Gargan turns into a beautiful woman. She was a terrible creature with unstable emotions, but now there's only a beautiful lady before me.Some of the elves who are still there are amazed, including Bartos, Leogus, and even King Sarkan.Gargan stands up, she gives them a glare. "They tortured me with spells for this whole time," she says.I can see hatred in her eyes. She hisses like a snake and then growls like a lion. A little strange for me, who is not used to seeing beautiful women act like animals. But if she was tortured for that long, it is reasonable for her to hate them.I wonder what happened to her. But there are better times than now because people are starting to get curious and start new rumors."He's a true hero.""He can turn Gargan into a beautiful woman.""I've never seen this before.""He's very strong."All of them are just whispers, but too many people do it until it is almost a scream in my ear. I turn to Bartos to make sure I finish this battle. However, I don't
I stand in the middle of a chaotic street. People are running here and there, some lying under attack from the hideous creatures. The others try to fight with makeshift equipment.I'm back. This incident is familiar to me. I died at a time like this when monsters suddenly appeared and separated my head from my body.'This is your world when the gate opens,' the voice says.I remember seeing a gate and monsters coming out of it. So this scene really happened right after I died.I see that several people deliberately enter the gate. No! That is dangerous! They must be lost their mind to go in the direction where the monsters appeared.Other people scream, venting their anger at the loss of those who were precious to them. Those people come running into the gate. Should I follow them?An orc suddenly runs towards me and almost hits me."Keeeeuk!"The orc is split in two when a ten-year-old girl suddenly hits its head with a street lamp post. I blink a few times, thinking how preposterous
The gate that appeared on earth brought humans to Greyos, the place where I was reincarnated. I don't know what expression to show even though no one can see me. I still don't know if this is a good or bad sign."Do these humans want to take over Greyos?""Yup! They are here to take Greyos before people from this world take over the earth."Then I can't blame humans, though. If they don't attack first, the monsters from this world will attack them through the same gate. The sound of hoof ringing closer. From a distance, an army of elves with phoenix crests on their armor approaches. They hold arrows, while the commander carries a sword.Amenus lowers his sword, and so does Gerald. This situation is beyond their control. But I'm sure if the elves throw arrows right away, Amenus wouldn't hesitate to finish them off right away."Who are you?" The elf commander asks.Gerald bows his body like a noble. "Sorry for the commotion. We only came to defeat the boss of this dungeon. We promised n
"Amenus in Kiran? What do you mean?"The oracle doesn't answer me anymore. Everything goes black and dark. When I open my eyes, I'm back in front of the golden tree.I look here and there, there is only darkness around us except for the golden tree. Leogus comes to me with a serious face. It's the first time I've seen him that serious."We have to go back, I think there's something—"Ddaarrr! An explosion drowns out his words. Our heads turn together toward the giant trees, thick smoke rising in the air. Without being told, we immediately run there.Thick black smoke covers our vision. The closer to the tree, the heat around us stings our skin even more. Birds fly in panic, animals scurry for cover. The giant trees are eaten by fire. But our attention is immediately drawn to thousands of people surrounds by the green creatures I recognize as goblins. They are gathered under the burning tree with their hands tied. The goblins point their sword aim at each of them. Several burning tree
Gin lost his senses. There was fire burning in his eyes. His white hair turned long and blue like ocean waves. His skin was cracked and in every crack, there was fire within his body.{My Lord, you can't do this with your current mana. Your body can be destroyed!}He couldn't hear Gargan's voice anymore. The old Gerald was gone, it was only Gin the disaster remained. The true form of disaster. All the demons had disappeared into the river of lava. Meanwhile, Amenus froze in the sky. He finally realized who he was up against.Gin's body rose. He flew towards Amenus. Amenus eyes could barely catch his movements. Gin swung Gargan toward him and managed to hit his arm.Wide-eyed, Amenus backed away before his arm was cut off."So you are that disaster," Amenus muttered while holding his bleeding arm.Gin didn't listen to him. His mind had been taken over by the system. He again chased after Amenus and slashed him wildly.Amenus kept dodging, but this time he was starting to get overwhelmed
When Gin opened his eyes, he was blinded by a very bright light. It took some time to blink his eyes."My Lord! Finally, you wake up!"Gargan dropped her face on Gin's chest. He pushed her away with his finger. Gin watched his surrounding, he was in a tent. The hot air made him sweat until his clothes were wet.Talking about clothes, he just realized the clothes he wore were different from yesterday. Gin looked at Gargan who smiled innocently."I changed your clothes," she said with a creepy wide smile.Changing his clothes meant Gargan saw his body. Gin's face tensed even more."Your clothes are burnt, My Lord! I didn't do anything!"Burnt? Gin suddenly remembered about Amenus. "Where is he?" His voice was heavier than before."He ran away after you tore his body.""Amenus?""Yes, My Lords!"Gin pensive. He didn't remember anything. The last thing he remembered was the archdemons that had suddenly appeared. He was heavily attacked and he thought he was unconscious. He never remember
"You still think I'm a hero even though I'll kill you someday?"They looked at Gin then looked down. Gin couldn't guess what they were thinking. Gin thought they were starting to realize if what Gin said was true and started to see him as a threat. But a woman stepped forward with teary eyes."Wouldn't we also die without you at the hands of Amenus?"Gin almost nodded, lucky he didn't actually do it. They would indeed die if Amenus continued to attack them like yesterday. Gin had experienced the power of Amenus himself. Without Gerald The Hero, Kiran was a dying kingdom."When the day comes, can you do it quickly so we don't feel the pain?" asked an old lady. She might be smiling but her eyes didn't cover her fear. The cursed one was the creature they had been afraid of. For thousands of years, the oracle had warned them that there would be a great curse, a catastrophe that would end the world. But after Amenus came, they were more afraid of dying at the hands of that evil than a disa
The sprout emerged from the seed of a giant tree that was planted. Leogus gaped while Gargan blinked several times. Gin himself didn't understand how his magic worked.“It's growing,” he mumbled softly.A small tree appears. There were only three leaves there, just like a tiny tree. Gin was a little disappointed because he thought he could grow the seed into a giant tree right away."You said you don't know how to use magic." Leogus touched the tree's leaves gently."I don't know, that's why I asked you."The tree's leaves glowed when Leogus touched them. "As the prince of Kiran, let me give you the blessing," he said. The light was getting brighter and Gin could see the tree was getting a little taller. It gets higher and higher. Once again, they became the center of attention. People started to gather, King Sarkan was no exception.“How come…” The hopeless King was speechless.Hope appeared in the eyes of the people. Some of them even cried.Giant tree seeds were not easy to grow. T
