Chapter 002

Edward chuckled.

“Many powerful men want favours from me. They even beg me to marry their daughters. You won’t regret marrying me. I promise.”

Grace frowned even deeper.

‘What kind of shameless man is this?’ She thought to herself.

How could he make such claims while looking like a beggar?

“Get over it! I know you want to marry me because of my family’s wealth, but I’ll never marry you,” she said.

Edward frowned because he did not even know who she was or her family.

“Let’s pretend nothing happened and go our separate ways. My family is very powerful, so if you don’t keep your mouth shut, I will make sure you lose your tongue.” Grace warned.

Edward shrugged and nodded.

“If that is what you want, you have my word.”

Since the woman had such a low opinion of him, he saw no reason to keep persuading her, making it seem like he was desperately eager to get married.

“Now leave!” Grace told him coldly.

Edward dressed up and left quickly without saying another word.

He felt a bit annoyed that she was acting like he had taken advantage of her, but what a joke.

He was a man with a fiancée. Now, he had betrayed his fiancee to save another woman.

Edward composed himself and pondered his next steps.

First, he was going to pay a visit to his fiancée for the first time as planned.

But before that, he needed to have breakfast.

Just as he stepped out of the hotel, a fleet of cars pulled over.

Edward watched as a man in his late fifties stepped down.

The man instantly fell to his knees before him.

“Master Of Infinite Powers, I am Albert Morgan, and it’s an honour to finally meet you.”

He kept his gaze down in a most respectful manner.

Albert Morgan rang the bell, and Edward smiled as he remembered who Albert was.

He was one of the leaders of Ironclad Enterprises, an organization run by 20 powerful men who controlled the city’s business hierarchy.

Edward knew that all of them were renounced business tycoons with limitless wealth.

Albert himself was the CEO of Globalrich Ventures and chairman of the Ironclad Enterprise in Crownmore district which controlled more than half of the city’s economy.

“Stand up, Albert,” Edward said, patting Albert on the shoulder. “I’m glad you look in good shape.”

“Thank you, young master.”

Albert bowed his head humbly.

If Grace were present, she would surely never recognize this humble middle-aged man as one of the city’s foremost figures, no matter what.

“Young master, I was overjoyed when I heard about your arrival. So I prepared a special gift for you.”

Albert said as he led Edward to his car.

“This is a Globalrich platinum card; only three exist. It has a credit limit of $999 million and can be upgraded anytime. You can use it at any Globalrich store or company,” Albert said to Edward.

Edward accepted the card with a smile. “This is very kind of you.”

“I almost forgot!” Albert yelped and pulled out a keycard. “I know you just arrived in the city, and staying in a hotel might be inconvenient. I heard that you enjoy gold, so I’ve prepared a luxurious villa with a gold course for you at Golden Homes. It’s spacious, and the views are gorgeous. Please accept it.”

Edward gave Albert a meaningful look, then calmly accepted the keycard.

“What can I do for you then?”

Albert sighed, and his eyes filled with sadness.

“I do have a problem.”

“My daughter, Amelia Morgan, has been ill for some time. She occasionally has seizures and constant migraines. We have seen numerous doctors in the past few months, but none of them have been able to cure her. I need your help, young Master. Please.”

“That is not a problem. I’ll come over to your mansion tomorrow and see your daughter.”

Albert almost fell on his face in excitement.

“Thank you, young Master! Thank you!”

Albert never thought Edward would accept to help him so quickly, but he had some hope, which paid off.

He’d learned from one of the Uppers that Edward, their Master, was also the mysterious medical immortal he had been searching for, and that’s why he came to seek him immediately after Edward arrived in the city.

“Tell me if you need anything, Master. I’m at your service.” Albert said eagerly.

His long-suppressed mood due to his daughter’s health issues had finally lifted considerably.

“I’m looking for a girl, and I believe she is in the city. I need you to help me find her.”

Edward said as he pulled out an old, yellowed photograph.

In the picture, a little pony-tailed girl was smiling shyly at the camera.
