Chapter 8: Henry's fall

Lincoln Kelly, Alex's most trusted employee, had planned everything for the dinner ahead of time, even the speech he was going to give. The entire staff greeted him with a standing ovation as he walked through the door to show their appreciation.

Alex glanced across the room and found the Smith family sitting in the front row with Daniel.

The anchor cheerfully greeted the mayor of Rocky City. "It gives me great pleasure, ladies and gentlemen, to introduce you to the Mayor of Rocky City!"

The Mayor of Rocky City is known as an enthusiastic and charismatic leader who has helped the city achieve its reputation.

"We are gathered here to honor an outstanding group for their important contributions to the growth of Rocky City. It is impossible to overstate their contributions. I'd like to wish you and Rocky City all the blessings God has in store for you. In a loud voice, the mayor expressed his joy.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to welcome the Lioness Arts to the stage." Everyone stood up to show their unity and support for what they were doing. Alex walked behind the Lioness team as they made their way to the stage, keeping up with the group.

Everyone was overjoyed, except for the Smiths, who stepped into the standing ovation to express their joy.

When Alex took the microphone and addressed the audience, there was still some uncertainty about the situation.

Both Henry and Daniel were speechless as they listened to Alex's presentation. They stood there with their mouths agape.

They couldn't believe that Alex Benjamin, the Smith family's live-in son-in-law, had upset them in the bidding for the contract. Meanwhile, Henry and Daniel had earlier introduced themselves to Kelly and discussed the possibility of doing business with Lioness Arts, unaware that Alex was the owner of Lioness Arts at the time.

As Alex finished his remarks, the emcee directed him to take a seat next to the mayor.

"The mayor recognized our team," Alex said, "and this is a fantastic opportunity for us to succeed. From now on, I will keep the details of my identity under wraps."

Kelly was well aware of the extraordinary quality of this opportunity, as well as the insignificance of the crowd compared to the impending signing of this contract. She also realized that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As a result, she understood the reason for Alex's desire to maintain his incognito.

She told Alex that "this team has you for life" in case they needed anything in the near future. At this point in the interview, Alex was given a high-level overview of the potential collaborations on The Bull.

"They will help us with various aspects of the project, making things easier for us as a result of this excellent opportunity." Kelly continued.

"This company is owned by Henry, if I'm not mistaken," Alex interrupted as soon as The Bull's name was mentioned in the conversation.

Immediately Alex said in a cold tone: "The Lioness Arts will not be involved in any form of business with the contractors of The Bull. Put an immediate end to any and all partnerships, past and present. If The Bull succeeds in even one initiative, I will be forced to relieve you of your leadership responsibilities with the team."

Kelly's face changed to one of complete and absolute terror as soon as Alex said that. She didn't need to inquire, knowing that one of the Bull's members would have to be held accountable for the misdeeds committed against the young master.

Then she gave him a knowing nod and reassured him, "Mr. Benjamin, don't worry; I'm going to issue an order right now to stop any cooperation with the Bull contractors!" She made her point with a brief nod of her head before continuing.

"Let them know that under the CEO's direction, Lioness Arts will not work with low-quality crap," Alex said, adding a scary remark.

Kelly approached Henry after Alex left the mayor's table and informed him of Lioness' decision.

"After much discussion, the director of Lioness Arts wants you to know that Lioness Arts will not be working with low quality people like you, and from this point on, we will no longer be working with your company," Kelly said coldly.

"Wait, let me clarify: what exactly did you say?" Henry was speechless for a moment from the shock and astonishment that had gripped him. He thought this had to be Alex's work.

He was 100% correct in his assessment! Considering they attended the same college, Alex Benjamin's actions are understandable. Henry was troubled by this thought as he worked up the courage to ask Kelly a question.

"What exactly is he planning? Why would they cut ties with the bull when it is widely believed that the potential candidate will sublet to other similar companies?"

Henry felt like his mind was clogged with unnecessary mental garbage as he kept questioning himself.

The question is, what exactly happened?

Ending all cooperation in what sense?

Will Alex become a billionaire while he becomes the new son-in-law? No way!!!

Alex Benjamin is just an employee, lucky to get a job in this successful team.

"I want to see the director!" said Henry, who could not accept the situation as it was.

"I'm sorry, but our director will not see you, and you will not be allowed to enter Lioness Arts in the future!"  Kelly said coldly. In response to his actions, she scolded him harshly and said, "Are you trying to cause a ruckus, the mayor is sitting over there?" Kelly showed Henry that she would ignore what he had to say as she returned to her chair and sat down.

Henry's actions had angered Master Smith because he didn't know that Alex was the CEO that Henry had disappointed. He didn't have much faith that the land of milk and honey they had promised would ever come true. He yelled at Henry,

"Henry, can you explain what you've done?" when he could no longer control his temper.

"Who did you insult, considering the Lioness has decided to have no further interaction with you in any way, shape, or form?"

"Dad, I have offended no one," Henry angrily protested to his father-in-law, arguing that he had offended no one. "I just met them recently and introduced myself to them for the first time. I have yet to speak to the director about this situation."

"You don't get it, moron. The Lioness Arts has stated that the reason they ended their relationship with The Bull was due to your comments directed at the director."

"The family has suffered greatly because of your actions, so you must find a way to fix this mess." After being scolded by Master Smith, Henry walked out of the building and into the parking lot outside.
