CHAPTER TWO

The bright ray of light flittered into Ethan's eyes after what seemed to be like forever as he opened up slowly.

He lifted his body upwards after Lying on the same position for what seemed like ages.

"Where am I?" Random thoughts ran through his head.

The door cracked open and I noticed an old man walking into the room slowly with his clutch.

"Ethan." He heard him saying to his utmost surprise

He turned around slowly and his eyes met with an old man. And for the first time, he noticed the bodyguards outside.

And his face was familiar too.

"Now that is it, leader of the Geftan group." He recognized him immediately

"Good day sir." He greeted me, about to get off from the bed but he stopped Ethan..

"Don't." The old man noted.

"But what are you doing here sir?"

"And how do you even know my name?" The thoughts rang in his head and from the last time that he checked, the voice that he was hearing at the Moment was different from the last one that he heard.

"I can't believe that you are safe after so many years."

There was some much affection in his eyes; it seemed as though he was going to tear as he sat down on the bed right beside Ethan.

Something that he never thought of all his life

From the words that he just spat oh from his mouth, flashes of what happened initially flashed in his head.

"Father." He heard echoes from a distance.

"What's going on?" He stammered.

"Ethan there is a lot that you need to know about right now. But first, you have to take some rest. Everything would be revealed in time." He explained.

But even with his explanation, Ethan was so restless that he could not rest.

He drew over to Ethan and held him tightly by his arms, staring right into his eyes.

"When you were born, your mother and father went sightseeing and there was a heavy flood that washed your mother away."

"We searched for the both of you and when we found your mother, she was already dead." She explained.

"So how am I the lost child?" He inquired trying as hard as he could to process everything in his head.

"The birthmark.." Your father saw it when he tried to...

Ethan paused for a while, still trying hard to believe what he just heard.

"But what if you are wrong? What if I am not the one that you have been looking for?" He inquired, shivering his head.

"Even though they brought you a week ago, I also thought the same but after multiple tests, it was duly proven Ethan, you are my grandson."

Then for the first time, Ethan realized that the man who helped him wasn't around.

"And father?"He was still a little bit uncomfortable today it

Mr. Geftan's eyes brightened and he could feel the genuine happiness screaming through him after such a very long time.

"He is away for a really important business meeting and he will join us soon enough." He explained.

But his face and his voice were somehow downsized. Ethan could feel that something was wrong but he could not tell what exactly it was.

"Maybe I am just overthinking." He pushed the thoughts off his head almost immediately.

His grandfather drew over to him and hugged him tightly.

"So we will be leaving today." He explained.

He was duly discharged from hospital and his grandfather decided to take him for a surprise.

When they got there in the car and a lot of guards and before Ethan laid a magnificent and gigantic house.

"Do you like it?" He inquired.

"Like? That's an understatement. I love it." He yelled.

"I am glad you liked it. It's yours now." Mr. Geftan smiled.

But there was a sudden pause from Ethan as his lips fell apart in shocks.

"What.. But." He could not believe his eyes and he could hardly breathe.

"No buts." Mr. Geftan returned.

He brought out a card from his pocket and handed it over to Ethan.

"That card costs 500 million dollars to change your wardrobe." He explained.

Ethan still couldn't believe him as he was already gasping for breath and he already had tears in his eyes.

"Don't you think that is too much?" He Inquired.

"It's certain not. He handed over another card.

"That's the trinity hotel whenever you want to eat." He explained.

"Will we be staying here tonight?

Ethan thought about his old home and decided that there was still a lot that he needed to get

"I will have to get a few things from my former home." He explained.

"That would not be a problem." He explained. Turning over to one of the drivers, he was about to gesture to him but he was stopped by Ethan.

"Is there anything wrong?" He inquired.

He thought about going home in a Porsche. It was going to raise a lot of eyebrows and that was something that he could not afford now since everyone in his neighborhood had always known him to be poor.

"I will go home by myself. You don't need to bother any of them." Ethan chuckled

"But..."

"Don't worry about this grandpa, I insist." He smiled.

"Did Dad say that I am going to be meeting him anytime soon?" He Inquired

"Maybe by tomorrow's morning. I will send you an email to brief you about where we are going to meet." He explained.

Ethan nodded his head and walking away from the place, he got a cab home.

He could feel his stomach aching, using that he had accepted his grandfather's offer for food.

Then the tickets to a five-star hotel that were given to him flashed in his head.

He never even knew for once that they excited such a part of the city.

After taking his bath, he walked into the hotel to get himself a meal. It was a sight to behold.

The floors glittered like gold and the pillars were made of pure gold. While he continued to walk, he bumped into someone and looking up, he noticed that it was his wife's best friend and she was with her millionaire boyfriend.

He tried as much as possible to avoid them knowing we'll take they were only going to cause him trouble.

But then, it turned out that they had already sighted him already

"Isn't Ethan?" He heard her saying to her boyfriend

"A glimpse of him I think. Why don't we go over to him and say hello?" He replied

They walked over to him, staring at him from his head to his feet while he tried to look away

"Wouldn't you be nice and just say hello?" Evelyn glared at him.

"What do you want from me again this time?" He inquired with a thick frown hanging on his face.

"What do I want from you? Oh. I think that you are ashamed for us to witness the fact that you are here to pick up leftovers but you aren't even worthy enough to do that."

"I came here to get something to eat. Now if you will excuse me?" He inquired staring right into her eyes with a frown hanging on his face but it didn't seem as though she was ready to leave anytime soon.

But Immediately he spat out the words from his mouth, and instead of getting out of his way, they burst out into laughter.

"Are you for real? Do you even realize that a meal here costs a million bucks? Something that the whole of your life isn't even worth?" They laughed.

Ethan clutched his hands so tightly that it made a cracking sound.

He had enough of this already and he was going to make sure that they paid for it.

He waved his shoulders away from them slowly with his heart racing fast.

He walked over to the receptionist while they followed him closely from behind.

"What's the process of getting a meal here?" He Inquired.

"Sir?" She shot a stare at him.

"Is there a problem?" Ethan shot a stare at him.

"No, certainly not." The receptionist replied, looking at him From head to toe.

"But don't you think that you came to the wrong place?" She made a face.

"Isn't this Trinity plaza?" He frowned.

"Sorry to interrupt but I think that he came here to beg. But I have a dollar bill, I can pass it on to you." Evelyn laughed out loud making the receptionist's face twist into a frown.

"Please this is not a charity organization. I can't have you guys always coming here to beg. Please go away." She frowned.

"And how do you know that I am a bagger?" He shot the words back at her, trying as much as he could to control his rising anger.

"I'm getting my meal. If you don't mind, I would love to know how things work here." He clarified.

"It's either you have a million bucks per hour or you have a cover membership card."

"If I find out that you are one of those bums, I am going to make sure that you certainly pay for it." She sneered.

Without spitting out a single word from his mouth, Ethan reached out to his pocket and brought out his membership card, placing it on the table.

For a moment, they were all speechless until Evelyn decided to speak.

"It's obvious that it is fake." She flared.

"Young man. I am going to warn you cog the last time. You have a chance to leave now and   I might not be that strict with you." She sneered.

"And what if it isn't fake? What are you going to do?" Ethan returned.

"I will lick the dust off your shoes." She returned.

"We have a deal in that case."

The receptionist Walked away and returned a few minutes later with a strange machine that had a little card slot.

Placing the card into it, Ethan held his breath tightly.

"Declined." It beeped, making Ethan's heart skip a thousand beats.

"What!" He exclaimed bewildered.

"How is that Even possible?" He inquired but the frown on her face showed that she wasn't even listening to him.

"What were you expecting in the first place?" Evelyn chuckled while thoughts flared through Ethan's head.
