10. Steal CCTV Footage

'My workplace?'

Warrick almost forgot about his job because many things happened. He had been fired, but the system instructed him to create chaos in his workplace.

Now, he was thinking about it. Surely, everyone would mock him upon hearing that he had lost his job.

"I need to recover my reputation," Warrick said, gritting his teeth as he memorized the mistreatment he endured at work. "Alright, I'll accept that quest!"

But what should Warrick do? He did not want to create chaos without reason, as it would further damage his reputation.

After careful consideration, Warrick finally finished drawing up a plan. He was fired for a mistake he did not make.

If he had evidence of his innocence, he could cause a commotion at the workplace. He would not let go of Jeff, who had treated him badly all this time.

"I've made a decision. Tonight, I'll become a burglar!"

Warrick left the house after taking the items he needed. He had a mask over his face, showing only his eyes.

His destination was Orionis Star Brokerage, where he worked as a salesman. It was one of the Rauveron family's companies specializing in financial services and securities.

Zayden held significant influence at Orionis Star. He must have instructed someone to change Warrick's report.

That's why Warrick intended to infiltrate Orionis Star's office to steal CCTV footage. Zayden would not delete the CCTV footage, assuming Warrick was incapable of doing anything.

Since it was late at night, all the overtime workers had gone home, leaving only the security guards behind.

Warrick had to infiltrate the security to reach the control center. He had prepared some tools that could assist him.

"Catch this trap," Warrick muttered before tossing a stone at a window.

Afterward, he threw an MP3 player that contained a recording of a woman pleading for help. He had taken the recording from a movie clip.

The security guards on duty were startled by the woman's scream.

"Let's check what's happening!"

The security team's leader and the other guards hastily left.

Ernest would be furious if a big incident occurred at Orionis Star. That was the main reason they panicked, fearing they would not be able to resolve the issue.

They thought it was fine to leave their guard post for a while. After all, there had never been a theft case since there were no money safes, and important databases were regularly stored on a secure server.

Moreover, the security team was not only located at the gate's security post. Other teams were guarding every floor and important areas.

Even if a burglar managed to enter, another security team could easily handle it. But they were unaware that they would be dealing with a special burglar.

Warrick climbed over the gate and sneaked into the office. He would only activate the 'Hands of Torment' skill in case of an emergency.

"The control center is on the first floor, so I don't need to move far."

As Warrick planned in his head, he saw shadows on the wall. Some guards were patrolling, and they would discover him shortly.

Warrick did not want to be caught. He tightly gripped the crowbar he had brought. As the shadows got closer, he counted silently.

And on the count of ten, Warrick struck a guard in the head with his crowbar. The other two guards immediately got into defensive positions.

"Intruder!"

They brandished their iron rods at Warrick.

"Forgive me. I have no choice but to hurt you," Warrick told before launching another attack.

He ducked to avoid the swinging iron rods. At the same time, he hooked the legs of the guards, causing them to lose their balance and fall to the floor.

Without a second thought, Warrick struck the guards on the head, and after they fainted, he quickly moved toward the control center.

Others might consider him evil for infiltrating and attacking the guards, but isn't the risk of encountering intruders part of their job?

Every job has its risks. Warrick still had a conscience, as he did not seriously injure the guards.

Warrick sighed in disappointment. But he needed to focus as he had arrived at the control center. He knocked on the door as if he were not an intruder.

The CCTV operator checked first who was knocking on the door. A while ago, he had watched a masked man attacking the security team.

And that man was the one knocking on the door. The operator swallowed hard, fearful, and immediately alerted the security team on the other floor to come quickly.

Meanwhile, Warrick had no choice but to break through the door. On the fifth attempt, he finally managed to break it. He ignored the operator's shocked screams.

"I won't harm you if you cooperate," Warrick threatened, placing his crowbar at the operator's neck. "I want the CCTV footage from one week ago. Copy it here!"

The operator grabbed a flash drive that Warrick tossed. He stared at it with hesitation.

Warrick increased the crowbar's pressure. "I'm sure you understand the situation. You don't want to end up like the guards, do you? Don't expect help from the other guards, because you will be dead before they arrive."

Those words sent shivers down the operator's spine. Warrick's hazel eyes gleamed with determination.

"A-Alright. I'll copy the footage you're asking for."

Warrick continued to press the crowbar against the operator's neck. After a few moments, the CCTV footage he wanted had been copied to his flash drive.

At the same time, another security team had arrived on the first floor. Warrick grabbed the flash drive and ran fast while the guards chased him from behind.

All this time, he had secretly trained his physique at night. Aelish did not even know about it. His training turned out to be useful, as he managed to climb over the gate without being caught by the guards.

The next day, the employees were in uproar over the mysterious intruder. They wondered why the intruder wanted the CCTV footage from a week ago.

"That intruder is ruthless! He hit three security guards and threatened the CCTV operator," Madison, an accountant, spoke angrily.

She glanced at Zayden. "Does Mr. Ernest know about this? I hope the intruder receives severe punishment!"

Zayden jolted from his reverie. He merely smiled and explained that his father would handle the intruder.

Even though he appeared calm, his heart had been uneasy since hearing the news.

'Why would the intruder want the CCTV footage? Is it Warrick? That's impossible. He wouldn't dare to disrupt our father's company.'

Zayden was somewhat relieved, believing that Warrick would not do something to provoke Ernest's anger.

Perhaps the intruder was an enemy of the Rauveron family. Large companies always faced disturbances from their adversaries.

Unfortunately, Zayden's peacefulness was shattered by Warrick's arrival.

People stared at Warrick with disdain.

"Why is he here? Didn't Jeff fire him?"

"It seems like he came here to beg, haha!"

"Exactly! He must have cried all night about losing his job."

"He has no shame. If it were me, I wouldn't dare to come back here."

Warrick ignored the people's ridicule. He approached Zayden. "Can you tell me where Jeff is?"

"Why are you looking for him?" Zayden squinted suspiciously. "If you want to protest your termination, let me talk to him. I'll persuade him not to fire you, so you don't need to beg."

"I didn't come here to beg."

"Then, what brings you here?"

Warrick took a flash drive from his shirt pocket. "I want to show the CCTV footage that proves I'm innocent. I didn't make the mistakes in the report!"

Everyone was surprised by Warrick's words. They were all suspicious of the same thing. Warrick might be the intruder from last night.
