Chapter 6. Don't Stop Me Now

"No! It has nothing to do with you. Just calm down."

Of course, Cory didn't believe it so quickly; he immediately grabbed Cleo's phone roughly. "I need to know everything about you, Darling. Don't make me wonder."

Cleo, who was not pleased, immediately grabbed her phone again, although eventually, the device fell onto the sofa, and Cory managed to see it. "Give it to me!"

Cory's angry face was visible once Cleo realized who was being watched. Cory's face began to turn red as he couldn't contain his anger. "What? You're still keeping an eye on the man you divorced?

What's wrong with you, Cleo? Am I not enough for you?"

Feeling like this argument was futile, Cleo then stood up from her seat while holding her phone. "I think it's time for me to meet that man; he has to forgive me, and I'm sure he can put me back in my rightful place."

Cory firmly grabbed Cleo's hand, trying to stop this beautiful woman's crazy intention. "No! You're mine now. Don't you dare approach that man again. Enough!"

With strength, Cleo pushed away Cory's hand, hoping to go to Dennis to ask for forgiveness. "Let go!"

Slap!

Cory's hand flew to Cleo's beautiful face, leaving the woman who had been willing to be his mistress shocked. "What are you doing? Why did you slap me?"

Cory, who didn't expect his hand to slap Cleo's beautiful face, fell silent for a moment before finally reaching for Cleo's hand. "I—I'm sorry, Darling. I didn't mean to. I did it because I don't want to lose you."

Angered by Cory's words, Cleo's cheeks turned red with her palm's imprint. "Ouch! If you dare to hit me again, I'll leave you!"

Cory knelt in front of Cleo, wearing a pleading expression. "I'm sorry, Darling. It was unintentional!"

Although Cory continued to apologize, Cleo was already too angry with her lover. She then put on her clothes and hurriedly left to find out where Dennis was.

It was easy to find out where her ex-husband lived, and in less than half an hour, Cleo arrived at Dennis's new, much larger house than hers.

Cleo's eyes were filled with admiration as she looked at the spacious front yard, neatly arranged by professionals. She then pressed the doorbell, and soon, a servant rushed to open the door for her.

As the servant opened the door, Romaria quickly approached to confirm who her master's guest was on this bright morning. "Who is it?"

Cleo smiled at Romaria and tidied her hair, tousled by the wind. "Hi, I'm Cleo Smith. Can I meet with Dennis?"

Romaria narrowed her eyes at Cleo, whom she immediately recognized. Romaria tried to convince herself about the guest who arrived this sunny morning. "Oh, you're Mr. Dennis's ex-wife?"

Cleo chuckled at Romaria's cynical words. "Ex-wife? Hehehe! Not yet, I haven't filed for divorce in court. So, I'm still Dennis's wife."

Hearing his ex-wife's words, Dennis, who happened to be on the stairs, shouted. "What did you say earlier? Hahahaha!"

Cleo pushed open the door that Romaria had only opened halfway to show her presence in Dennis's new home. "Dennis, it's me."

Dennis tilted his smile and reached for Olivia's hand, who stood so gracefully beside him. "Why did you bother coming here, Cleo? Do you want me to introduce you to my new fiancee?"

Olivia, upon hearing Dennis's sweet confession, smiled broadly at Cleo. "Satisfied! This arrogant woman will surely be very surprised when she finds out that I, who have been looked down upon, have succeeded in winning Dennis's heart," she murmured.

Dennis heard Olivia's words but still maintained a flat expression to prevent Olivia from becoming conceited because of her reaction.

Cleo refused to give up. She approached Dennis, whom she knew would surely help her out of her troubles, as he always did to protect his ex-wife's career. "Dennis, I know you're the one who leaked that scandalous news. Can you retract it so my career can recover?"

Olivia, knowing that those sweet words were just a lure, immediately grabbed Dennis's hand and shook her head.

Dennis, seeing Olivia's headshake, then nodded. "I know you don't want me to do it, Darling. Don't worry; I've always intended to make him regret throwing me away so cruelly."

Olivia smiled satisfactorily at Dennis's words. Then she turned to Cleo, who was staring at her sharply.

Suddenly, Cleo's eyes, seeing Olivia's gaze, immediately clenched her fists. "Damn it! Why does Dennis have to meet Olivia, whom I've been bullying from the start?"

Dennis turned to Olivia and smiled broadly before asking. "What do you want us to do with Cleo now?"

Olivia's smile faded upon hearing Dennis's words. "Kick her out of here. I don't want her to ruin our togetherness."

Dennis nodded quickly. "Romaria, kick her out!"

Of course, Dennis's harsh words made Cleo angry. She then approached Dennis as a last effort to defend the career that she had worked so hard to build. "Dennis, listen to me first. I came just to ask you not to be too harsh on me. We can talk about this!"

Seeing Cleo's unyielding attitude, which Romaria couldn't stop, Dennis grabbed an old telephone on the table by the stairs and called the security guard. "Quickly come here! There's an uninvited guest who you need to kick out!"

Cleo became even more furious upon hearing her ex-husband's words and shouted as loud as she could to stop Dennis's intention. "No, Dennis! I'm not done yet!"
