Ch. 47 - Meeting

Blue and red lights lit in sequence across Jackson’s face. Each time his expression changed; it was as if he had been in a stop motion film.

Loud sirens echoed, overwhelming the soothing chirping of the crickets.

The cool breeze that night felt like no other. A sudden chill caressed Jackson’s cheeks, sending chills throughout his body. Shivers lingered for several seconds after the gust passed.

Just thinking about what happened almost made him vomit.

He held young Raios in his arms. Warm crimson fluid flowed endlessly from the youth’s wound. The intense smell made Jackson taste the metallic fragrance which remained in his nostrils after it violently infiltrated his nose.

Even though Raios confirmed it, Jackson still couldn’t believe what he heard.

The previous owner of the Fleeting Moon has died. An undisputed fact he couldn’t wrap his head around.

Raios bled profusely in Jackson’s arms. If the ambulance took a little longer, he wouldn’t have made it.
