Chapter 5

The entire place fell silent. Noah began to gasp for breath, while everyone else held their breaths.

Donald's heart began to race, and Sofia broke into a cold sweat. They were all praying that the general manager had only mistaken Henry for someone else, or that they were only having a nightmare.

Noah, who had been standing stiff for so long, felt the glass in his hand suddenly become lighter.

Suddenly, Henry took the glass from his hand. Overjoyed, Noah straightened his shoulders and his pale face became normal.

"Thank you very much for your mercy and forgiveness, Mr. Anderson." Taking out a handkerchief, Noah wiped away the sweat on his forehead.

He had received a call from Christopher, George's butler, when he had been away on vacation.

Christopher had told him that the new president would take office.

Noah had been drinking with some pretty girls at that time, and he did not expect the new president to appear all of a sudden.

Since he did not dare to delay any longer, he immediately rushed back.

He was indeed completely exhausted, but he comforted himself by telling himself that it was all worth it.

"Sir, you must have mistaken him for someone else. Our new president hasn't arrived yet, right?" Donald asked Noah in shock.

"Cut the crap. Hurry! Welcome our new president." Since Noah was feeling a bit woozy, he did not notice the awkward atmosphere around him.

"I mean, look at his clothes! How could he be the new president? He doesn't even own a suit and none of his clothes are from luxury brands!"

"Henry lives in an old shabby house in the slum. And he can't even afford a bike. How could you think that he is the president?" Sofia chimed in.

"The president can wear whatever he wants. Besides, it is none of your business."

Sensing that something was not right, Noah took out a document from his briefcase, and threw it to Donald. "Peel your eyes open and read it for yourself."

Soon the other employees also craned their necks to read the document. They could tell that Noah was trying to prove that the poor man before them was the new president, but they found it to be highly unlikely.

It was the appointment letter. When Donald saw Henry's name on it, he held on to the glimmer of hope in his heart, but when he saw Henry's photo and the seal from Anderson Group, he was absolutely flabbergasted.

All the other employees who saw that were also heartbroken. They felt as though they were struck by a giant hammer that weighed more than a thousand pounds.

Looking at the paper in his hand, Donald began to tremble. Everything that Noah said was indeed true.

Recalling all those terrible things that he had done in the past, he felt his heart fall into a deep hole filled with ice, and his face turned white with fear.

"Do you know how noble our new president is? Well, he is Mr. George Anderson's son!"

"George Anderson!" The crowd burst into an uproar.

"I have already asked Christopher many times, and I believe that he would never joke about such matters."

Although Christopher was George's personal assistant, everyone who had met him knew that he also owned a part of the shares of the Anderson Group.

In fact, Christopher was the fifth-biggest shareholder in the Anderson Group.

"And it's not just the hotel. Mr. Anderson here owns this entire area. If he is not happy with it, he has every right to destroy it."

"That can't be possible. No way!" Sofia was lost in thought, unable to accept the fact. However, Donald realized that Mathew was telling the truth, stumbled backwards in fear, and fell to the ground.

He had stolen Sofia from Henry, who could have become George's daughter-in-law in the future. He would be skinned alive if news of what he did spread.

Donald crawled over, knelt down in front of Henry, and held his thighs. "Mr. Anderson... Mr. Anderson, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!" He then began banging his head against the ground.

"I'm a bastard. I shouldn't have treated you like that, and I shouldn't have taken Sofia away from you."

Henry swirled the glass, smelling the sweet red wine. The enemy was kneeling down before him, and people who had looked down upon him were bowing their heads.

He had crushed an arrogant bully with his power. Henry had never felt so happy before.

"That kind of promiscuous woman is cheap and dirty. Are you trying to humiliate me by setting me up with her?" Saying those cold words, Henry kicked Donald away.

"No, no.. You can do whatever you want to me, and even if you ask me to jump into the dumpster, I will gladly do it!" Donald was absolutely horrified.

"How dare you bully the weak and judge people based on their appearance? Know your place and behave yourself! I don't need a scum like you in the A.G.N Hotel, so you're fired!" Henry announced in a loud voice.

"No! No, Mr. Anderson. Please, I... I know that I was wrong. I won't do it again. I promise I will be better in the future..." Donald pleaded.

He had spent a lot of time and put in a lot of effort to get where he was now, so how could he let himself get fired so easily?

But when the others saw that their vice general manager was fired, they became so nervous that they felt their heart jump to their throats.

All those who had laughed at Henry before, were now terrified to even look at him. They feared that if Henry was in a bad mood, then he might fire them too.

Henry placed his finger against his lips. Henry placed his finger against his lips, signaling Donald to shut up. "Do you remember what I said when I came here? I said, I hope you can still enjoy drinking wine later."

Donald felt his scalp tingle. Looking at the wine glass in Henry's hand, he trembled with fear. The longer he stared at the wine, the more it looked like blood. Henry was slowly torturing him. But he did not dare to go up against George's son.

"Pin him down'' Henry said lightly, looking at the guards. The guards exchanged confused glances.

After all, Donald was really powerful at the hotel, and they did not want to offend him.
