The Escape

“Dad,” Trevor said, welcoming their father back to the hideout. Samantha suspected that her father was still angry about the earlier occurrence and her ‘tantrum’, as he called it. “How was it?” Trevor continued.

Edward Dennin simply threw her another displeased look, before fixing his expression and walking inside.

Trevor followed suit looking back to ask her what was wrong. He mouthed, his eyes widening as though he was shouting. “What did you do?”

Samantha simply gave him a look that would tell a dumb goat that she just told it that it was stupid.

Samantha stayed on the porch longer, hearing cheers from within the house. She suspected that her father was hoarding and soaking up all the praise that was poured on him.

The journey back had been a horror.

Samantha despite being so tired and exhausted didn't sleep a wink because of her deranged father.
