Minutes passed, but it felt like hours to Jane. Her colleagues finally got bored of laughing amongst themselves before moving on. Yet, their words remained with Jane even after they had left.

As Jane continued to scrub the floor, she could no longer hold back her tears, and they began to fall, mixing with the soapy water on the tiles.

She had always thought she was untouchable, that she could do whatever she wanted and get away with it.

But now, she was nothing more than a tale of what happens when you cross Lord Cloud.

Jane’s hands trembled in anger as she gripped the mop, her knuckles turning white. The mocking laughter from Erica and her former colleagues was still echoing in her head.

She couldn’t stand it any longer. Every step she took, every whisper she overheard, made her heart ache, and her blood boil even more. She felt suffocated, as if she were drowning in the humiliation.
