As bad as the private talk sounded in the ears of Jonas, he just had to oblige. After all, he was still the chosen and the fate of the world rested on his young shoulders. A few of his girlfriend’s tears could not be compared to a world without earthlings to live in it.

In such situations, the best way out is, to protect the feelings of those you are about to hurt for as long as until just minutes or hours after you have left and they have to find out the truth the easy way or the hard way.

The easy way of course would be to have you back with them and the day’s program not messed up with. The hard way though is quite the opposite of that.
