Kamu’s fate having been sealed, Lampa’s was on the weighing scales. Signs of tension could be noted from the sudden change of events in Kamu. Unalike the fallen hero, King Guantai, Kang’ethe had different views and ways of leadership and authority over his people. He was a man of tradition hence ruled by the tradition but had respect to the human life and the people as fellow humans.

Despite the separation of classes between the laypeople and those of the royal blood, he believed that, everyone deserved the privilege to happiness and the right to life. In this Kingdom, the populaces had to bear the name slaves but with additional privileges. That fact had the Kamu natives wishing they were in Lampa.

In contrary to this fact of the historical difference between the two Kingdoms, King Kang’ethe still had a dream of having the two Kingdoms unite one day. After the death of King Guantai, his dream became just a journey to infinity. He realized that, no matter how much he wished for that to happen, it was not meant to in his lifetime.

With Guantai’s son, Martin, as the King of Kamu, peace was a word yet to be accredited. To him, war was prove of power, the means to get honor from the other Kingdoms, his duty as King, and a part of living. The fact led King Kang’ethe to deep thoughts about what was to happen, and a query about the true existence of the gods.

For many years, King Kang’ethe and his wife Jacinta had talks and advices from the council members to adopt a child. At the time, those seemed like the chimes of the early singing birds to King Kang’ethe for; he had a different vision to this day.

King Kang’ethe was now in favor of the advices from the council members but it was too late for that. All he had left was, hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and believe in the gods. It was not much of an option but, since the dynasty needed a King, it was the best out of the pool of thoughts and back to being a King.

Every second counted, and King Kang’ethe had none to waste. He called his council members for a gathering. The Kingdom was at its wink of death. The turn of events in the Kamu dynasty had every one in shock and fear of what was to come.

The King had to have this fear transformed and get his populaces’ hope back as before. He had the council members spread nothing but a message of hope and peace. They had to do everything within their might to make sure that the publics’ hope was restored and to clear the tension.

Meanwhile, he and Captain Japhet had another mission at hand. In the anticipation of anything and preparation for the worst, the Captain had to have the warriors ready in case of an attack from Kamu warriors.

It was an era in which, dilemma was the theme of the day. While the council members were giving hope and preaching peace to the people, the Captain was alerting the warriors for readiness of war. That was when the real manifestation of the gods was prerequisite. Not only then would a warrior husband sit in wait for war and, the wife and children in peace with hope and faith for things not to change.

Lampa Kingdom was like a basket full of eggs and rocks hoping they never have to collide. Indeed, the gods were certainly by their side. The whole shebang went according to the plan. King Kang’ethe was at ease now that everything had gone smoothly, but still on his toes concerning the heir and waking up to a surprise visit by King Martin’s troopers.

King Martin, now a veteran on the throne, had a different rhythm for the same song. There was a thing about his love for swift changes especially when things went in his will. Although he ruled the Kamu borough, he still longed for more at his service and mercy. This meant taking the next step in his thoughts up the ladder of power and have the two cantons under the rule of one sovereign. It was time for the full bread on his table.

King Kang’ethe was too old for power and sometime off the throne is what he deserved, King Martin thought. Considering the fact of there being no heir to the throne of Lampa society, King Martin had a reason enough to rule the two Kingdoms. Unlike the Lampa’s council members, his were just a bunch of old folks. He was the council himself. It was time for his Captain Joseph to be called to attention, and a meeting to discuss matters at hand was scheduled.

The discussion though, was not for peace but for power even at the expense of human dignity and peace. Had King Kang’ethe to disavow the message and decline request to surrender the throne to him, he was ready to fight his way to the cathedra. He later ordered the Captain and a group of other few select warriors to journey to Lampa Kingdom. They were to deliver this message to King Kang’ethe. All those events took place a few months after the laying to rest of his father King Guantai.

His sister Dorothy, the Princess and acting Queen of the land was away. She had journeyed to another Kingdom just a few days earlier for matters concerning leadership. For this reason, King Martin was at ease sending those warriors. He knew there was no challenge from the sister and he did not have to explain to her. According to his plan, he wanted this to take place in her absence. Upon return, she was to meet everything changed and Martin in rule of the two Kingdoms.

Captain Joseph did as was commanded by his king. Early the next morning, alongside a few other warriors, they set off on a journey to Lampa Kingdom. After they left, King Martin had his time alone in the palace. He took this time conversating with the sculpture and portraits of his late father. He was promising to keep alive what he had started and, to accomplish what he, his father, had not a good chance to do when he was alive. This was to conquer Lampa Kingdom and take over the reign. “Father, it is sad that you had to die without having accomplished what you had always dreamt of; being a King to both Kamu and Lampa Kingdoms. I promise to carry on your legacy and dream to rule both Kingdoms for the both of us. I will make sure to prove to you what a King you made me to be. The gods rest your soul in peace father,” Martin conversed to the sculpture of his late father. Two days later, he was surprised by the return of his sister, Dorothy, from her tour. It is with much honor and need for peace that we stand before you and this throne. We come to deliver a message from our King to your highness. May you allow us to speak this message to fulfill our duty to our lordship King Martin?” uttered Captain Joseph. “I, the King of Lampa Kingdom, on behalf of my people salute you as well. Upon her arrival into the chambers, Dorothy was shocked by Jessica’s visit. Dorothy asked her of where she was and why she had visited even without notice. Although it was weird for Dorothy to question her visit, Jessica claimed to be checking on her. It was her duty as the chief maiden to check and make sure the Princess was okay. Due to the little span of time between the Captain’s departure and Jessica’s arrival, the Princess was sure of one thing. Jessica and Joseph must have met somewhere along the way. This was no good news to her bearing in mind the many secrets that needed to keep secret. Though Jessica was so close to her, she was not at a position to know about her relationship with the Captain or the mission. Without any further waste of time, Dorothy came up with a way to lower the heat in the room. ”I believe you have come across the Captain on his way out as you were coming?” asked Dorothy. “Yes my princess. I have met him just after the stairway. He has told me that,

Lampa Kingdom was still under tension and preparation in wait of this fateful event. King Kang’ethe and his wife Jacinta were the most troubled. They could not stop to blame themselves for having no heir to the throne, if not the gods. They were certain that it was the main reason why King Martin threatened to attack. If wishes were horses, they could have an heir to the throne for; they could have given an ear to the council members to adopt. King Kang’ethe, back in the days got married to Jacinta while still in power. After their marriage, he realized the pleasure of being in love. He loved Jacinta so much that he never dreamt of a life without her. It was during this time that he decided every man had the right to love and the people were at liberty to fall in love. A year later, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter and heir to the throne. Lampa being the only Kingdom where the people had the right to love, this brought a lot of tension in the other Kingdoms. After a while

In between the last day of battle and this day that he was summoned by the King, he took his time to consult the Princess of the way forward. He was cautious enough to avoid being spotted or raise suspicion. The reasons he gave the King were those they had discussed with his lover. This shifted the blame from his side to the battalion as a whole. Finally, they concluded that, something better needed to be done for next time. “Captain, tell me, what happened out there at the battle field such that I had to withdraw the warriors. Is this Captainship becoming a burden to you, or, what is it that made you lose to Lampa for God’s sake. Enlighten me Captain,” asked the King. “My lord, it’s not that the Captainship is a burden to me but, the Lampa warriors were quite prepared for us and some new warriors were not well prepared. We did not have enough time to have them be the best my King,” said the Captain. “So Captain, you are telling me that the warriors were not well prepared. Since whe

Without waste of anymore second, she came up with her own theory to get Joseph off the hook. In this theory, she made sure to implicate Mwithali to get him off their backs completely. This meant that Mwithali had to die no matter the cost. He was becoming a stump on their way to success. Although she had this figured out, she could not tell it directly to the King. It could either get her and Joseph exposed, else it could sound staged or vague. She had to do it in such a way not to raise an alarm. She also needed to make sure that Joseph knew of her plan. Their talk and accusations towards Mwithali needed to match; else, it could mean disaster. This approach to the King needed to use facts such that, he was supposed to convince himself of Joseph’s innocence. This therefore meant that, Dorothy had to use a trusted warrior to deliver an encrypted message to the Captain. He was to inform the Captain of her plan. After she did this, she was now free to open up to the King and tell of thi

What is there for me to offer more than Kamu could to you?” Catherine asked Martin.“Well it’s good that you ask that question. There is more to it than it meets the eye besides the good one feels in power. What good is power without happiness, without love and someone to care about and one who cares about you?” asked Martin.“True. There is not joy in power without happiness but I do not see how someone like me could offer you happiness my lord. I am not worthy of this.” replied Catherine.“Save it Catherine. You are worthy of every bit of my actions. Someone like you can offer me joy when someone like me is in love with you. I will say this that I have said to no woman before, I love you Catherine.
