"Huh!"
The on-looker gasped seeing Max alight from the car with his shabby clothes. Even Michelle couldn't help but gasp when she saw Mark. Her brain couldn't process what was happening.
Max on the other hand had a smile on his face, it was finally time to give his wife all that she deserved. There was no way he was going to let her suffer unjustly again. He was going to Make sure he spent no effort to make Michelle happy.
Seeing the gaze on the crowd's faces, he could guess what was happening. Seeing this a smirk appeared on his face as he walked towards Michelle.
"Shall we?" He smiled holding Michelle's hand immediately he got to her.
"Yes," Michelle muttered as she nodded weakly.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" A yell came just as Max was about to proceed to the car.
"Where do you think I'm taking her to?" Mark smiled as he stared at Smith.
"You are just good for nothing, you're not qualified to hold her hands." Smith frowned staring daggers at Max wishing he could take his place.
In his mind, Max was just a road who wanted to eat swan meat which would be impossible.
"Either I'm worthy or not, it's none of your business. Besides, are you fucking blind to see that I'm taking her home?" Max frowned as he berated Smith.
"Fool, do you think you can fool me? Even if you can fool others, you can't do that to me. Do you think I don't know this Rolls Royce Phantom is rented just for you to show off? You are just a good-for-nothing who couldn't afford a new set of clothes, do you think I'll be fooled with such a lowly act?" Smith sneered.
"I can't believe he borrowed the car to show off. How disdainful." Some of the onlookers whispered, not caring to keep their voices down.
"Fool, do you believe it's a rented car? Don't you know how much a Rolls Royce Phantom costs?"
"It's over a million dollars. Who in hell would rent out such a car?"
"Also, would he even be able to afford it even if he wanted to rent it?"
"Are you saying it's probably not a rented car but his car?"
"I'm not sure, but that's the speculation."
Michelle's heart tightened when she heard the words of the onlookers. Rented or not, she was still appreciative of what he had done. Coming to save her in such an awesome manner.
"Idiot!" Max cursed.
"You should know your worth before comparing others to your useless self, don't go around bullying my wife next time, or else I won't take it lightly with you.."
"Michelle, let's go," Max whispered to Michelle slowly, bringing her to the car.
Getting inside the car, Michelle heaved a sigh of relief as the car drove away.
The onlookers watched as the car drove away while they continued to whisper to themselves.
Smith on the other hand was convulsing with anger, "how dare he?" He muttered as he gritted his teeth.
That useless son-in-law. How dare he disgrace him. This was just too much, he was going to have his revenge sooner or later. He was going to make Max watch as he slept with his wife.
"Thank you, Max," Michelle muttered as she stared at Mark who seemed to be deep in thought.
"Huh!" Mark froze for a second. Did his cold wife just thank him?
He must be imagining things. He knew Michelle well, she was cold to him and would never allow him to touch her. She wouldn't have allowed him to hold her hands if not for the fact they were in public.
"Max, where did you get the car?" Michelle suddenly asked, bringing Max out of his thoughts.
Max smiled bitterly as he racked his brain, he couldn't tell her that the car was arranged by the president of Cisco. Even if he told her, was she going to believe him?
"I met a friend from college and he ordered his driver to drop me off at home so I used that opportunity to come pick you up."
"Make sure to return the car quickly once we get back, we can't afford to be in debt." Michelle frowned.
Max smiled and didn't say anything. He was going to reveal his identity to Michelle but not yet. It couldn't be done so soon, he had to make her accept some things or else she was going to freak out.
Soon, the car pulled up in front of a rather small house. It was a house in one of the rural areas and was just big enough for two to three people to live in it.
Coming out of the car, Max asked the driver to go back and enter the house with his wife.
"Wifey, I think this belongs to you." Max sighed as he passed a bag to Michelle.
"What's that?" Michelle's face turned cold as she stared at the bag.
"I'm sorry, but I can't accept your money, it's something you worked hard for."
"Are you rejecting my benevolence?" Michelle frowned as she glared at Max.
"It's nothing like that, but it's what you worked hard for and besides, you need to hurry and pay back the loan shark you borrowed money from."
"Did my secretary let her mouth run wild again?"
Mark smiled bitterly and didn't say anything. There was no way he was going to reply.
"I won't be accepting back what I've already given out, it's left to you if you want to save your mum or not." Michelle spat coldly and walked away leaving Mark dumbfounded.
Mark sighed as he didn't know what to do. His wife was just this cold to him. Even though she had always defended him, she was cold when they were together.
He wondered if he could make her stop being cold towards him or else, there'll be problems in the future.
Ring! Ring!
The doorbell came just at the moment. Mark frowned as he walked towards the door, but before he could open it, Michelle beat him to it.
"Mum, what are you doing here?" Michelle frowned as she stared at her mum.
"Can't I come here?" Rachel frowned as she stared at her daughter."Mum, every time you come, you end up wanting to make me divorce Max which is impossible, no matter what you'll say I'll never divorce him," Michelle argued."Foolish girl, who said I'm here to make trouble for you both?" Rachel smiled while shooting Max a disdainful glare. She wondered what sort of sorcery Max had used on her daughter that was making her refuse to divorce a useless man like him. There were young masters of many prominent families she could get married to and live a better life other than living in such a crappy place. Her eyes were full of disgust as she looked around. If only her daughter could be more sensible, then she'll be living a good life instead of living such a wretched life.Well, she wasn't to blame, she could only blame her father who had approved of the two marriages before he died. If only he hadn't given his consent then this wouldn't have happened.Max on the other hand didn't care ab
(THE NEXT DAY)Max smiled as he watched Michelle walk into the company. He had his bike brought back the night before as he would be needing it. He would have carried Michelle straight to the hotel but then the appointment wasn't till in the evening which made Max even more doubtful.Well, then that wasn't his problem. He was still going to find out what was happening sooner or later. First, he decided to do some work as he had some delivery piling up.He was going to quit the job sooner or later, but then he had to do some last job since he loved the job so much.It was what had saved him from joblessness for three years and he had grown to love the job. Even though he was going to quit sooner or later, he wanted to do some delivery before he did so.In no time, it was noon. Max sighed as he wiped away his sweat. He had been working nonstop since morning and was very hungry at the moment. Looking at his pocket, he noticed he didn't have even a dime. This was bad, after thinking about
Max's expression changed seeing that the call was disconnected. Immediately, he knew that something was wrong."Mr. Max, if I may ask, what's wrong?" Ethan frowned when he saw Max's unnatural expression."How many minutes from here to the Four Seasons hotel?" Max asked, ignoring Ethan's question."It should take about thirty minutes.""I want to get there in ten minutes.""Sir, the fastest route ignoring all road rules, you'll get there in fifteen minutes.""Fine." Max frowned."Yes sir," Ethan replied and rushed out of his office while Max followed closely.Getting to the garage of the company, Ethan got into a car that Max was sure was his. But then it was none of his concern.Soon the engine of the car came to life and Ethan drove out of the company at a very high speed ignoring everything.-----"I'm sorry Mr. Lucas, but I can drink anymore, we've not even had the chance to talk about the contract." Michelle rejected the toast, her face blushing red as she managed to keep herself
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Lucas raged looking at Max who was staring at him. "You dare ask me who I am after wanting to take advantage of my wife?" Max growled, kicking Lucas as he walked towards Michelle who was lying on the floor. At the moment, he couldn't hold back his anger and all he wanted was to make sure his wife was safe. He just couldn't believe that Lucas was about to take advantage of Michelle. "How dare you hit me?" Lucas yelled, staring at Max apprehensively. "You idiot," Max roared, picking Lucas up and flinging him across the room like he was a piece of paper. "Argh!" Lucas screamed as he hit the glass table breaking it into pieces. But then Max wasn't done. Walking towards Lucas, he stepped on his hands and soon breaking of bones was heard making Lucas scream out in pain. But still, Max felt it was not enough and stepped on his legs. "The Claros wouldn't let you off," Lucas said through gritted teeth as he stared at Max with hatred in his eyes. "Th
"It seems like they are here." Max smiled, sipping the tea in his front."Hahaha, Max, you're dead, my father is here." Lucas laughed as he looked at Max."You still have the nerves to talk?" Max frowned, staring at Lucas.Immediately, Lucas shuddered as he shrank his head back. The powerful aura Max gave off just now was so intimidating that for a moment he thought he was going to kill him.Bang!"Who dares to threaten my son?"The door of the room was pushed open followed by a loud voice as a figure walked in. The figure was a rather average man who had a close resemblance to Lucas."Dad, save me!" Lucas cried immediately after he saw his dad walk in. He seemed to have gotten back his confidence all of a sudden as he stared at Max."Dad, you must help me take revenge, he broke my leg and arm, I want him dead and also want him to see how I'll play with his wife.""Don't worry son, I'll help you have your revenge, he won't go Scott free." The man smiled, squatting to observe Lucas who
Max smirked as he looked at the men rushing to attack him. Since they had dared to be greedy for money he wasn't going to go easy on them.Skillfully evading the attack of the first person, he grabbed the man by the wrist and sent him flying across the room. In no time what filled the room was the shouts of the men.A minute later, they were all lying on the floor with one of their limbs broken. The men looked at Max in fear as they couldn't believe what had just happened. Throughout the process, Max hadn't left the spot he was standing, yet, he had managed to trash all of them."Just..just who are you..." Kelvin shuttered looking at Max like he had seen a ghost. His face was as white as a sheet of paper and his legs were trembling as if they were going to give way any time."Kelvin, I don't think much of your family. Submit to me in the next twenty-four hours or face the consequences." Max smirked, staring at Kelvin who had yet to recover."Think about it well, I'm sure you'll know w
(The Next Day)"Max, aren't you going to go to work today?" Michelle frowned looking at Max as she descended from his bike."I've gotten another job." Max smiled. He had already planned to quit his job, but then he knew Michelle wasn't going to take it lightly with him so he had prepared what to say. He was going to have to reveal his identity to her sooner or later so it would be better if he let her accept some things."Which company?" Michelle frowned. Even though she was frowning, she couldn't hide her surprise."My bad, I forgot to tell you." Max smiled, "Yesterday, I applied for a job at Nebula Enterprise and I successfully got one.""Wow, that calls for a celebration, remember to come pick me up early so we'll eat out to celebrate your new job." Michelle smiled."No worries wifey, I'll be on time.""Also, make sure not to annoy your superiors, you can't have them fire you, don't forget you've been looking for a job for a long time.""I'll take your advice wisely." Max smiled.H
Not long, a car pulled up not far from the van. Next, a shirt chubby with scars all over his face descended from the car. Beside him was a familiar figure."So it's you?" Max squinted his eyes as his mouth curled up into a mocking smile."I see you have some nerves to beat up one of my men." The chubby man frowned, walking towards Max."Yeah, I just gave him what he deserved." Max shrugged."Are you sure he's the one who beat you up?" The chubby man frowned, turning to his subordinate who was standing right beside him."Yes he's the one, he even said that you mean nothing to him even after I told him who you are." A man with a swollen pig head nodded quickly."I see you're quite brave." The chubby man smiled as he looked at Max."I can forgive you if you kneel and ask for forgiveness then pay for his medical bills.""Are you sure you'll be able to handle me asking for forgiveness?" Max smiled, staring playfully at the man.No one in the world would ask him to kneel and ask for forgive
