Realization

Max sighed as he came to a realization. Money was everything. Without money, one was pitiful and there was nothing one would be able to do. Without money, one was the lowest in society.

How foolish was he to think he could live a peaceful life by just being a live son-in-law, it seems like he was rather stupid for thinking like this. It was because he didn't have any money and his mother-in-law didn't like him.

Also, it was the same reason why she had offered him a large amount of money so he could divorce his wife. Also, he couldn't give his wife what she deserved, and never for once had she complained.

At this moment Max was feeling guilty, he knew that there was no way he was going to make it without having money. Without money, nothing was going to work out. He was destined to be trampled on by others.

He had seen the evils of society and how they treated those who didn't have money. The ones who didn't have money were destined to be trashed and used as the others wished.

They had no say no rather did they have any rights, they were treated worse than criminals who have killed a lot of people. At that moment, Max couldn't help but clench his fist as he thought about all this.

He was one of the victims, ever since had graduated from the University, he was turned from a promising young man to a useless errand boy. This was the ills of the world. Without money, you're destined to stay at a place forever and never to be looked upon again.

Max sighed and took his phone, even though he didn't want to do it, he had no other choice at this point. He couldn't endanger his Foster mother's life just because he had a feud with him.

He was probably the only person who would be willing to help, no rather had been waiting for the day he was going to come to seek help.

Max sighed and dialed a number on his phone, he had ignored the number for too long. He just couldn't remember when he last called the number. After a few hesitations, Max dialed the number.

The person he was trying to call was his father, but he hated him to the guts. His mother had died because of his father's mistress and yet, he didn't do anything about it. How absurd?

He had left home angrily that year and his father was the one whom he had loathed the most. He would never forgive his father for his mother's death, nor his mistress.

If not for his father's negligence, his mother wouldn't have died, if he had never brought home the evil woman, nothing would have happened to his mother. His father knew how much he hated him and over the years had been trying to make him go back.

If not for the threat he dishes out some time ago, he was sure that there was going to be no end to the pestering. Also, he was sure that his father had heard of his foster mother's sickness and how much he needed.

If it was not that he had no other choice, there was no way he would have turned to his father for help, after all, he labeled him as a murderer.

"You finally called, young master." An old voice sounded, bringing Max out of his thoughts.

"I agree to inherit all the properties and be proclaimed as the heir, but I have one condition," Max stated coldly, he could care less about anything else.

The person who picked up the phone was his father's butler, Albert, even though the man was a good man, Max could care less about it at the moment.

"What's your condition?" The old voice replied after some time.

"He should never think I'll forgive him nor should he come to ask me for my forgiveness." Max spat.

"I'll tell the master your condition, also I'll come over to where you are soon." The old voice replied and the call was disconnected.

Just as Max had guessed, he knew his father had people who were following him, if not there was no way his father's butler knew where he was.

In just about ten minutes or so, Max heard some hurried footsteps and a rather familiar figure stepped into the ward.

The figure was an old man with gray hair and a wrinkled face, he was holding a briefcase and was panting heavily.

"Young master." The old man said excitedly looking at Max who only nodded.

If people saw how much Albert was excited at the sight of Max, they would be left dumbfounded. Who was Albert? He was a big shot and not many people had seen him.

Even the ones who had seen him were either lucky or had a very high position. But here he was, acting like a parent who met his long-lost child.

"Young Master, please sign here." Alfred smiled as he brought out a contract from the briefcase.

"What's that?" Max frowned.

"You'll be taking over Cisco," Albert replied smiling.

"I see," Max muttered and took the pen from Albert signing the contract.

"I'll inform the higher-ups of the company of the change, also you should go visit soon." Albert grinned after Mark signed the contract.

"I'll see to it when I have the time." Mark nodded.

The Cisco company was the largest in the city and was worth trillions. Even though Max was made the head of the company, he wasn't exhilarated and was calm about it.

His temperament had undergone a huge change at the moment, and it felt like he wasn't the one.

"Young master, take this." Albert smiled as he passed Mark a black card.

"The password is 0000, also the master has transferred some money to you." Albert smiled.

Max didn't want to talk to his father, also he knew the latter wouldn't try to call him since he had already said he wasn't going to forgive him.

Max nodded, not wanting to talk much, stretching out his hands to collect the card.

"I'll take my leave, young master." Albert smiled and walked out of the ward.

Max sighed and took out his phone only to see there was a message.

"Dear customer, you've received 100,000,000 from 23xxxxx, your balance is 10xxxxxxxx."

Max sighed as he read the message. He smiled and shook his head before standing up to go pay for his foster mother's surgery.
