The woman had a surprise look on her face as she heard what the old man said.
"Grandpa, I don't understand! How can this thug here be the miracle doctor you told me about?" The woman asked, standing up. Gerald was mad at her for calling him a thug but he decided to control his anger out of respect to the old man. "With all due respect sir, I do not appreciate your granddaughter calling me a thug! It's an insult to my person." Gerald complained. "Oh please cut the crap!" The woman shouted at Gerald. "You are not just a thug, but a pervert also!" Gerald became angry. He could not understand why the woman kept insisting that he was a pervert when everything was just a mistake. He regretted his good intentions to help her. He would have just allowed her to fall down and maybe then she would not have been insulting him right now. The old man saw that things were beginning to escalate between Gerald and his granddaughter. So he decided to stop the matter from escalating. "Grace." He said to his granddaughter. "Please sit down and hear me out. I don't know what happened between you and Gerald, but this approach you are taking is not the right one." Grace was furious and she was not ready to listen. She was still angry with the fact that Gerald was insisting on coming right that it did not have anything to do with touching her when she saw what he did. She stood up and was about to leave, but then she remembered that her grandfather had told her that Gerald was the only person that could save him. Grace sat down but she was still angry. She turned to look at her grandfather after giving Gerald a death stare. "Grandfather, we have all the resources. I can mobilize every doctor you need and they'll come to your rescue and heal you. We don't really need this sham of a doctor and besides, we don't know him. We don't know how true his work is and if it will have any side effect on you." She said. Gerald scoffed at her as he heard her doubting his ability, but he also refused to dignify her insult by replying her. Instead, he turned away and waited for the old man to reply. In his mind, whatever the old man was going to say would determine his next move, if it would help him or if it would work in ways. Though he needed the money, but he was not ready to be insulted over something that he knows he did not do wrong. "Grandfather, I understand that you really want to get well and you want to get healed. But I don't think you will believe all these people that call themselves miracle doctors. You never know whatever they use in their treatment. Why don't we take you to a more better hospital where you will be treated professionally and legally?" Grace continued talking. Gerald knew that Grace was referring to him and he could not take the insult anymore. So he stood up to leave. "You can go and meet a more reliable doctor that will treat you, because I don't think I will be able to do it with your granddaughter doubting my medical skills," Gerald said to Mr. Wellington. "No, please, Gerald. Don't go. I really need your medical skills. Please, don't mind my granddaughter. She's just trying to be caring, and she's being careful because a lot of doctors have come, and I've been scammed. She does not want the same thing to repeat itself," The old man pleaded with Gerald. Gerald was not ready to listen. He was already at his wits end, and he could not take the insult anymore. "My problem is not with you, Mr. Wellington." Gerald said. The old man did not want to let Gerald go because he knew that this was his last chance at getting him to heal him. So he quickly went to Gerald and held him. "Please don't go. I believe in you and that's all that matters. Look, I already have all the herbs that you asked me to bring," The old man said. He brought the herbs before Gerald. Gerald was shocked at the speed with which the old man used to assemble the herbs. The herbs were not easy to find, and yet the old man in a short time had already gotten them. "How did you get the helps assembled in such a short time?" Gerald asked the old man. The old man smiled at Gerald. "It's because of the herbs business I am into. That's why I was able to get them." The old man explained. Grace looks at Gerald in a mocking way. "I don't think you even know how to use these herbs. “This is the method you used in collecting money from people and deceiving them.” Grace accused him. Gerald refused to answer Grace and just ignored her. He picked up the herbs and told the old man to wait here while he went to the kitchen to prepare the herbal medicine.A few minutes later, he returned with a bowl of foul-smelling black soup.
"Drink it."
Grace tried to stop her grandpa but he drank the soup in one gulp. As soon as he put the bowl down, he coughed up a mouthful of black phlegm and said he hadn't breathed so easily in a long time.
Seeing that her grandfather was finally feeling better, Grace's dislike of him eased somewhat.
"The herbal soup should be taken once a day for 30 days, after which I would inform you of the next stage of the medicine." Gerald said.
"How should I thank you this time?" the old man said.
"Can you also help me find some herbs? " Gerald quietly told the old man the names of the herbs he needed.
"These herbs you asked are very precious and it will take me some time, but I will definitely help you find them.” the old man said。Gerald nodde his head.
"Gerald, there is another main reason why I invited you.”
Gerald was surprised that the old man had another reason for calling him. So he sat down. "What is it, Mr. Wellington? Gerald asked the old man Grace also wondered what her grandfather had said. As far as she knew, her grandfather had only told her that he had found a doctor who could cure him. Mr. Wellington looked at Gerald and then at Grace. "I called you here because I wish you could marry my granddaughter, Grace." The old man said. Gerald and Grace were both surprised. Gerald wondered why the old man would want him to marry his granddaughter while Grace was also surprised at why her grandfather would want her to marry a stranger. Gerald was thinking if the old man did not trust him enough to heal him, and wanted to use his granddaughter as leverage, because if he get married to a member of his family, he would have no choice but to treat him well. Gerald knew that he was not ready to remarry again, not after the recent betrayal he just experienced from his ex-wife, Fion
The next day, Gerald went to Grace Company, Yola Company. She was busy writing and did not notice him at first. She was putting on a tight suit, and Gerald could not help but admire how she looked good in a tight suit, and he continued staring at her. Grace suddenly felt like she was being watched, so she raised up her head and noticed Gerald staring at her. Grace was angry when she saw Gerald, and she gave him a cold look. "Good morning." She e greeted coldly. "I can see that you arrived quite early and on time." She said. Gerald smiled and ignored a cold attitude, and then he said, "How are you? You look good in your tight suit," he said. Grace frowned at the compliment. Then Gerald continued to stare at her, breast button, and she became angry. After what happened between them yesterday, she thought he would have changed. She became annoyed as she remembered the incident of yesterday. Gerald had noticed her annoyance, and after what happened between them yesterday,
Ivan landed on the floor with a thud, but he quickly stood up. He was embarrassed, but he refused to show it. He was not ready to show how weak he was. He moved towards Gerald again and tried to punch him, but Gerald overpowered him and kicked him in the chin, and he fell down on the floor again. He could not believe that Gerald was stronger than him."How come? How come you are stronger than me? I am the disciple of a master." Ivan said to Gerald. Gerald ignored Evan's question and looked at him contemptuously. He walked towards him to where he was and stepped on his chest. "Now, you must apologize. Who is useless? Who is the useless one among the both of us?" Gerald asked him.Ivan refused to back down, he refused to accept defeat, and instead he continued to threaten Gerald. "You don't know what you have just gotten yourself into. You are in for a big mess. I will make sure I deal with you." He said. Gerald got more angry and was about to land another punch on him when Fion
Gerald scoffed at Henry. He believed that if only Henry knew that he was invited by Grace to come work there, he would not be talking to him the way he was doing.Gerald believed that Henry would have been addressing him with respect if he knew the connection he had with Grace and her grandfather."How dare you scoff at me?" Henry asked in anger. "You bloody ex-convict!" Gerald did not want to get angry with Henry because of Grace, so he kept quiet while Henry called him names.Henry on the other hand became more angry with the silent treatment Gerald was giving him.He could not stomach the fact that someone who he believed was beneath his status would keep silent as he was talking to him."You have the guts to ignore me when I'm talking to you? Who the hell do you think I am?" Henry shouted.Gerald was beginning to get tired of Henry's childish outbursts but he still refused to lose his cool."I don't know what you want me to say or do. When I talk, you pick offense, when I keep si
Henry and the security were both stunned to hear what Gerald said. The security quickly stood up and he became scared not knowing if he had offended someone higher than Henry unknowingly to him. Henry quickly let go of his shock and his face turned into a sneer. "You are not just a criminal, but also a pathological liar!" Henry shouted. "What?" Gerald said. Henry burst into a mocking laughter before he answered Gerald. "You must think that I'm a fool to believe that my boss would stoop low as to date a low-life criminal like you!" Henry jeered. The security nodded his head in agreement with what Henry said. He thought about it and he realized that it was unrealistic for their boss to date someone like Gerald. He began to curse himself for getting scared easily. "That is true!" The security blurted out. "There is no way our boss would date someone like you!" Gerald looked at both Henry and the security and he scoffed. He knew that they would find it hard to believe him and he
Henry saw the call end and he smiled in triumph that Gerald had failed in his plans."I knew that there was no way my boss would stoop so low as to come here to save a criminal like you." Henry mocked. He and the security started to laugh and make mockery of Gerald who only stood there staring at them in silence.Gerald had a strong belief that Grace was going to come. He knew she was too inquisitive to let the situation pass without her knowing what exactly was wrong which was why he did not explain to her on the phone."Sir, I knew this criminal here was just wasting our time, allow me to teach him a lesson." The security said."You are right." Henry agreed with security. He called in two extra security guards and they came."Drag him out of here and let's teach him a lesson," Henry instructed the security guards. The security guards were about to drag Gerald out when they heard a knock on the door. The security opened the door and was shocked to see Grace standing at the door. "W
Henry and the three security guards, on hearing that Grace was about to fire them, quickly lay down on the floor and started begging. "Please, Ma, don't do this to me, please. I promise it will never repeat itself." Henry begged. "That's your own. Use this experience you have here and correct your next job in whatever company you find yourself. Now get out of here before I do something more terrible than just firing you." Grace shouted. Henry and the security quickly stood up on their feet and scrambled out of the office. Grace was afraid that Gerald might not want to help her grandfather again due to the treatment he received from Henry, so she turned to him to apologize. "I'm sorry for the way you were treated by the security guards and by Henry. It was never my intention. Please, forgive me." Grace begged.Gerald was surprised that Grace was apologizing on behalf of Henry and the security guards. This was a new side to her that he didn't see coming. And he could not help but wo
Fiona and Ivan walked out of the Cafe. They needed to go somewhere to celebrate."I'm going to check for an expensive restaurant where we can have our celebration," Ivan said with a huge smile on his face.Fiona loved the sound of that."Okay, baby, I can't wait," She said to him. They walked towards the Yola company parking lot where their cars were parked. The Cafe where they went was close to Yola company."What do you think about this place?" Ivan asked Fiona as he showed her his phone. It was the photo gallery of a new restaurant that had just been opened.Fiona's eyes glowed as she scrolled through the pictures."I love it Ivan, it's perfect," She said to him with a huge smile. She kissed him on the cheek, which made Ivan happy. He felt proud that he had made her happy."Okay, let's go have some fun," Ivan said.He was about to open the door for Fiona when he saw Henry coming out from the back entrance of Yola company that leads to the parking lot.Henry looked depressed as walk
Brian walked gently towards his car which was parked outside waiting patiently for him to get in. He gave a fake smile at whom he found inside and she returned his gestures. The chauffeur drove them to the airport and they got there thirty minutes before the flight takes off. It was a business trip along with his secretary lucy and planned to be back within a month even before it was over. They got to their destination safely and Lucy handled everything properly while they got off the plane. He wasn't ready to address anyone that day and Lucy had to inform those who wishes to see him that he was unavailable for that moment. It was late at night and he intended to take a walk around this place where he was going to stay for a while. He had an earpod on listening to music that could soothe his mood. As he strolled, he took pictures of captivating features in this place. His eyes met a girl who seemed stranded by the bridge side, she was wincing and shivering in the cold. Perhap
He turned off the phone immediately and warned Brian to stay off his family as he got informed that his wife was involved in an accident."You made a wrong choice by messing with those that were dear to me" Brian said as Felix narrowed a brow at this man right in front of him who always does as he threaten. He couldn't say a word back at Brian as he hurriedly rushed out while his brother glared at the table with an evil intention written all over his face.It rained heavily as he could be found drained in the rain, every effort to get in touch with those whom he lost in the fire outbreak proved abortive as deep in his heart. He didn't want to believe that they were consumed in the fire, he had a lot of memories attached to those people mostly the woman who stole his heart. His life was a mess as he had lost the one whom he tried to protect. He suddenly felt a shield covering him from the rain and when he lifted his head. Brian found someone holding an umbrella over his head and he s
She studied her son, the brief smile that escaped his lips. When she mentioned Julie's name, which made her heart flutter. All she wants this time is to hear Brian call her mother again."How about we pay her a visit tomorrow?" She suggested, he grimaced at her and sighed, and she knew that was a yes. His father demanded to see him privately, and he yielded to his demand. The old man laid on the bed exhausted for the day as the party was getting dismissed gradually. He smiled immediately he saw Brian and got relieved that at least he was forgiven."No one is giving me the answers I need…why did you send me back?". His scoffed and rose from the bed while beckoning on Brian to pick a file which laid on the desk."Someone talked some sense into me" he confessed sad at heart and Brian smirked at him while picking up the file lazily."Transfer of property?" Brian read and his father nodded."I don't need anything that is yours…""I knew you would say that, but son you're the only one I
His eyes strictly monitoring her hair and shoes."You can't follow me with that" he stated and offered to follow her to her room. She smiled as she followed suit. To be honest, she did that on purpose. The hair thing actually."I won't wait all day!" he yelled from the room as he got there before her. She rolled her eyes and hastened her footsteps into the room.He pulled out her makeup seat and tapped it with his hands, beckoning on her to sit down. She sat down as he instructed and stared at the mirror. She wondered if he can really dress a person's hair because his own hair never looked properly kept. She gulped as he began combing her hair with his hands."Shouldn't he be using a comb for that?" she questioned. He began twirling part of her hair and held it up with a pin. He made a twirl with another part and made held it again. She placed her hand on her cheek and let him do his thing. He was done in a minute. She kept staring at her hair while her eyes admired it.She didn't
The thought of her former apartment popped up in his memory and he decided to drive off there. Josh who was hurrying up to met his mother's needs found him at the gates."You came for her?" He just said with a wry smile."Where's she?" Brian asked with the assertion that this naughty boy was referring to Julie."Mom's apartment, she's a psycho this time around, so be careful" he advised with no formal gestures as though the kid was having an indifference attitude towards him. Brian intended him to ask him a question which concerned a drawing of his but he had to see Julie first. Brian rang the doorbell and josh scoffed;"Why are you acting like a gentle man?" He asked opening the door for Brian. In here, everyone surrounded someone and he guessed it was Julie. Quickly, he excused himself through their midst to take a look at her and once their eyes met, she flinched and folded her legs on the bed frightened. This act of hers averted their gaze on him as they sensed he was danger.
The wailing of siren could be heard as it drove to the nearest hospital. Some doctors could be seen hurrying to take a woman to the ICU. Brian got worries written all over his face, as he hoped the victim wakes up. Lucy was less bothered besides this woman would be out of her way. She glanced at the doctor who got out of the room to address them. He was sad too. Brian had it in mind that this doctor was going to tell him that the patient lost her memory. Lucy ticked her tongue hoping that she hears this woman was dead."Can I see her?" Brian asked in whispers and the doctor nodded. They transferred her from the ICU to a ward where she could be visited. Brian wasn't allowed in as he could see nurses and a security agent rushing. After the doctor assign to administer medication to her sighed sharply and ushered Brian inside. The door glide open gently as he paced towards were she sat chained to the bed, he narrowed a brow at her surprised at the sudden scene. Her hair was wet an
"Do always cry like a child whenever she spoke to you this bad?". She scoffed and ditched the coffee in his hand again."Are you here to hurt me the more""No! I'm just learning new features, you know I despise people when they cry, but you look beautiful when you do such" he teased, and she smiled wiping her tears the more and then collected the coffee from him yet again. It seems she was going to keep to act this way with the pissed off mug of coffee."Really?" She beckoned, bringing out a mirror."Seriously? You always keep a mirror with you?""Yeah, to see if I look good when I'm done" she said laughing as he only smiled a little. It didn't take long when she began yawning by then, she was done with coffee and handed him back his mug."Goodnight Brian, I've got a lot to do tomorrow at my restaurant…stay happy! But don't cross that lioness part, she's scary when she's angry" she said in a faint voice as she walked away."Julie, are okay right where you are?" He thought, glancing a
"My biggest fan?" She echoed impressive though because she never knew she's got fans from just saving lives and her biggest fan was definitely jimmy disguised; however, the late line was awkward as he says she should be grateful he wrote it. There was no doubt that she needed to call him, although she still got my pride. She carried the box inside because she didn't want anyone to see the gift inside. Once she got in.She unfolded the wrap from the box and found a necklace. It was gorgeous and made of pure diamond."Not bad" She commented because it was expensive and wow he sure knew she wanted such. Julie was more like a materialistic person, although it would have been romantic if he wore it on her and then say: "I'm sorry love for suspecting you". It wasn't only a necklace she found but a pen and diary which wrote;"Pour it all out to me, I might be of great help". Weird right but this damn book got her laughing, just what she wanted, a diary. Well, the last two gifts she saw wa
The rain had started falling and Brian intended to leave the office. He was somewhat jealous when he mistakenly found jimmy and Julie kissing. It got him all riled up, he picked an umbrella from his office and dashed outside, however Julie's voice drew him back when she said;"Please wait, let's go together". He glanced at her as she ran through the rain to meet with him, Julie had no umbrella and once she reached out to him, she went under his umbrella while rubbing her palm together annoyed. Brian wished to ask a question but couldn't, he had snubbed her earlier because he didn't want to admit to himself that he was having feelings for this woman.Besides wading off any such feelings was for good because she was going to die someday. He kept staring at her and not taking a step forward neither was she, rather this woman was staring at the rain drop."Let's go Brian" she uttered, turning her gaze to him. He felt like telling it to her face that she should end any relationship she had
