Camille and Arthur remained in the car staring at the exquisite hotel. It was a five-star hotel. The most expensive in the city.
“Do you think he is lodging here?” Camille asked Arthur. “He hasn't been outside in almost an hour. They won't let him stay that long if he was walking around,” Arthur retorted. Camille stared at the hotel once again, a puzzled expression settling on her face. “Where do you think he got so much money from? He just threw the Carters’ networth in their faces without even blinking…” Camile trailed off. Arthur opened the car and got out. “Definitely not by any clean means. The last time we saw me, he was on the streets, wearing nothing but rags. We took everything from him, and even then, he didn't even have up to thirty million dollars,” he said as Camille joined. “We will go in there and confront him. He's hiding something big and if he won't say it, we'll let the police force the truth out of him then.” They walked into the building and Camille was immediately taken by the beauty. She'd never lodged in this hotel before. Not because she couldn't afford it, but because it would cause a tooth and a nail to blow such an amount in one day. “Hello, welcome to Grandeur Hotels and Suites, how may we help you?” The receptionist asked with a polite smile. “We need a room,” Arthur said. “Unfortunately, we are fully booked for the next two days. Perhaps you can come back next week,” The brunette said and Arthur exchanged glances with Camille. Didn't Luthan just walk in there? Yet it was fully booked? “I'm sorry, but while we were coming, we saw a man with a young woman. Disfigured face and all…” Arthur began describing Mary. “Ah yes! He was the one who booked the entire hotel,” The receptionist said. Arthur and Camille were beyond shocked. A regular room at Grandeur was already a fortune, and Luthan managed to book the entire hotel with almost a hundred rooms, if not more. “Surely you must be mistaken. I'm talking about Luthan King, the one carrying a woman…” “Yes, that is him,” the receptionist cut him short. “Could you check back next week? As I said, we're fully booked.” “Sure. We will be on our way now,” Arthur forced a smile. Although there were no witnesses, it didn't make it less embarrassing. Camille was unsure whether to say a word or not. She could see his wounded pride right through his eyes. For a man who barely worked for anything in his life, Arthur had quite the ego. On arrival at the King's mansion, Arthur stormed inside, leaving her behind. Anthony Kings was seated by the bar with a sullen expression and having Arthur join him with the same expression was quite worrisome. “I take it, the event didn't go as planned?” He asked as Arthur picked up a shot glass and poured some whiskey into it. “I could say the same for you, Dad,” he responded, taking a sip of the drink. He picked up the cigarette pack while Anthony watched him curiously. “Ask away,” Arthur sighed. “I had five meetings today with different investors. They all rejected Kings Corporation. In their words, my proposal wasn't good enough. It was almost as if they planned,” Anthony sighed. “But I already anticipated the results long before I got it so it didn't faze me much. In your case, a birthday celebration? What could possibly go wrong?” “A lot of things, father,” Camille responded, walking towards them. “Let me guess; you weren't picked as the best-dressed couple?” Anthony's tone was light but taunting. Arthur refilled his glass. Another thing that made the night a lot more intolerable. Everyone was too busy paying attention to Luthan to care about something so irrelevant. Besides, even if they did decide to create time for that item, they would likely have given it to Luthan and his faceless bride. “Luthan is back,” Camille spilled the beans as Arthur didn't seem like he would speak. “Luthan is back with a lot of money.” Anthony dropped his glass. “I fail to see how his return concerns us. Whatever money you may think he has is only a fickle to what we own,” Anthony's indifferent response triggered a laugh from Arthur. “More like the money we have is a fickle to what he has. Father, that man blew twenty million dollars to get in, thirty million dollars to see Mary Lynn and another eighty to take her home with him. Do you have any idea how many millions that is, father?” Anthony's facial expression was slapped by surprise. His eyes squinted at Arthur as if trying to fish out the lies in his words. “Don't forget he booked the entire Grandeur hotel too,” Camille chirped, catching Anthony off guard once again. The old man blinked rapidly, struggling to process everything. “What do you mean by boked the entire Grandeur hotel? That would cost him more than a fortune.” “Probably,” Arthur shrugged. “Or it could just be chicken change to him.” “How is that even possible? We took everything from him! The lawyer… he gave us everything! Even kicked Luthan out of his office…” Anthony started. “I don't think any of that matters, really. Back then, he was worth only ninety million dollars, but now, I'm not even sure how much he has,” Arthur sighed. “Where did he get so much money from?” Anthony asked. “There are only a few things in this country that give people a ridiculous amount of money in a short time. One is lottery, the other is drugs and lastly, weapon snuggling and organizing trafficking. The question is, which of them is he?” Arthur presented. Camille and Anthony fell silent, considering Arthur's words. After careful consideration, Camille spoke up. “I have been with that man since childhood. He would rather die than get his hands dirty. It has to be a lottery.” The words triggered an unpleasant feeling with Arthur. Despite the fact that he had successfully snatched her from Luthan and had children with her, Camille had never fully let him into her heart. With Luthan back, there was a very high possibility of her running back to him. He didn't realise he was clenching hard on the glass until it shattered, startling everyone. Camille rushed to him immediately, “Are you okay? You're bleeding!” She gasped, taking his hand. “I'll get the first aid.” “Are you alright, kiddo?” Anthony asked. “What if he comes back?” Arthur asked, suddenly, staring at the blood trickling down his palm. “What if he comes to take back everything we took from him?” “Well, good luck with that. The company is on the verge of going bankrupt, and no one is willing to risk their money on it. Our net worth is dangling at a miserable thirty million. He can take it if he wants. Perhaps he can put that reckless spending into good use,” Anthony snorted but Arthur didn't find it funny. While Luthan was selfless to a fault, he was vengeful too. The rage he saw burning in those eyes when Mary Lynn was presented was proof of it. “I don't think he is going to be that merciful, father,” Arthur stood up, stepping over the shards of glass. “I wouldn't.” “He can't come back here, Arthur,” Anthony called after him. “He would be a fool to do so. King's Corporation is ours. We might be in a sticky situation now, but I am ready to give that up.” “Me neither,” Arthur said before heading to his room. He found Camile going through the drawers, searching for the first aid box. He crossed his arms, leaning against the door frame to watch her. Many years had gone by and her beauty was starting to fade. She still had the body, certainly still at the top of the list of beautiful women. “He's not going to take you back, you know.” The words startled Camille just as she found the box, and it came crashing down. She turned to Arthur with a frightened but puzzled expression. “You almost gave me a heart attack, and what in heaven's name are you talking about?” Her hands rested on her waist in a dramatic poise. “With his reckless spending, the money will be exhausted faster than he can say his name and then he will be back on the streets where he belongs!” Arthur said. “Obviously,” Camile threw her hands in her air. “Lotteries don't even give that much money and I'm very certain he has spent the greater part of it already.” “Do you mean that?” Arthur asked skeptically. Camile walked over to him and cupped his face with an assuring smile. “Yes. You shouldn't get yourself worked up over a one-time wonder. Give it a few days and everything will die out. He will crawl back to whatever hole he came out from.” “You don't seem to have any interest in going back to him,” Arthur chuckled. “Why should I? You're ten times the man he will never be,” she kissed his lips gently. However the next day, she was in a cab, heading to the Grandeur Hotels to have a word with her ex-husband.Luthan sat in the hotel lobby, eyeing his unwanted visitor warily. Camille sipped her coffee, throwing him casual smiles.“I didn't come here to watch you drink. Get to the point and leave,” Luthan said candidly, but she remained unfazed by his words. “How have you been, Luthan?” She asked instead. His eyes narrowed at her.“My well-being is not the reason you're here, Camille. Cut the chase or I will be forced to leave you,” Luthan coldly stated. “You are still as impatient as ever my dear, Luthan,” she smiled. “What is wrong with checking up on my ex-husband, huh? Can I even say that? Last time I checked, we were still legally married.” Luthan was flabbergasted by the boldness. First, she connived with his family to take over his properties and slept with his brother, even had children for him, and now, she was here, reminding him that they were still legally bound. “I suppose you're here for a divorce then. I'll have my lawyers prepare the papers and send them over to you,” Lut
After his tour with Raven, Luthan decided to visit one more person before returning to the hotel. When a Royce drove into his compound, Barry simply assumed it was a business associate who didn't know the boundaries of work. None of his relatives could afford a Royce. Barry leaned over the balcony, waiting for the visitor to step out. About three minutes passed before the car door opened Barry saw the one person he never believed he would see ever again. Luthan King. What in heaven's name was the man doing in his house? Three years had passed since their last encounter but this Luthan looked nothing like the man back then. Still, there was no way he could afford a Royce. Was it possible he was showing off another man's car? The Luthan he knew was straightforward. He didn't pretend to elevate himself before others. Either way, the man had no business in his compound.“Stop there!” He yelled from the balcony and Luthan stopped, lifting his head to look at Barry. “What business do y
Camille signed and retrieved the brown envelopes from the delivery man. She was curious as to what it was and decided to pry just a little. We were family, after all; surely they wouldn't mind just a little. She picked up the first one and opened it. “Divorce Agreement,” Camille read with a scoff. “The bastard was serious with this whole divorce thing. I will just have to meet Barry to discuss this later. Maybe there is some loophole we can exploit. I don't plan to watch him spend all that lottery money alone.”She put the document back in the envelope. She picked the second one and headed upstairs. Arthur was nowhere to be found which was a good thing. She quickly buried the document underneath the rug.Camille wasn’t ready to deal with it yet. She proceeded to open the next document, and her features paled out when she saw it was from the bank. She didn't want to believe it, so she flipped through page by page, reading as fast as she could. Apparently, Anthony Kings had used the m
It was not surprising that what happened at the Grandeur Hotels made the news. People were calling Luthan The Mysterious Multi-millionaire and there were speculations. Soon enough a photo began to circulate among blogs, it was the vaguest and most blurry picture of him at the hotel and you couldn't really identify him from the pictures but many of the people who attended the Carter’s party were easily convinced that it was Luthan. His name was soon flying about doubtfully but he didn't mind at all. He was fine with simply taking care of Mary Lynn while plans were being made for her surgery. Although he didn't mind, someone else was using the rumors to their advantage.Anthony realized early that they could use Luthan's new and sudden fame to draw in investors. Afterall, Luthan still had the last name King. There were a few people in the business circle who had heard of what happened at the Carter party but we're not there themselves. They may not have been as rich as the others who we
The case was won easily. It helped that Hector had completely distabilized Barry by that first visit and by appearing in multiple places where Barry visited while he gathered evidence for the case. It got to a point that Barry had to beg Hector to try and find a way out of it. He pleaded that he would do anything for the case to be dropped but his suffering and desperation only made Hector happy.Hector told him that Luthan had only one intention; to make Barry pay for his crimes and nothing the lawyer could say or do would override that plan. When Barry turned to the King family they abandoned him, they threatened him to keep their name out of his mouth if he wanted to stay alive for much longer. He pleaded again with Hector Williams for immunity, he promised to tell all that he knew about the Kings if Hector would help him out but Hector didn't promise him anything especially when it became clear that he didn't have enough dirt on the Kings. They were being careful with him because
As soon as Luthan was told this news he rushed to the room where the man was staying. He stood at the bed side, tears prickling his eyes as the man smiled. His body was frail and weak-looking like he might simply wither away in the wind the next second.“Didn't anyone ever tell you not to look at sick people like that?” Stanley said still smiling. “Try to look happy to see me will you?”Luthan shook himself and drew closer. “How did this happen?”“It's a disease,” the man said. “Those things happen. You can't protect me from everything Luthan,” the man whispered. “Can you do me some good and not look at me as though you're already at my funeral.”Luthan forced a smile and Stanley's grew wider. “Now will you introduce the lovely lady by your side?”“This is Mary Lynn,” Luthan introduced. “The lady I told you about.”“You didn't mention she was this pretty,” Stanley teased. “I feel stronger just looking at her.”Mary Lynn smiled and drew closer to his bed. Stanley took her hand and drew
Not long after Stanley Flair was declared dead by the doctor, the lawyer walked up to Luthan and asked him to speak at his earliest convenience. Stanley had already arranged everything for Luthan to be his successor and they planned to waste no time in putting things in place, no doubt this was all Stanley's orders.Luthan took on the responsibility as Stanley's living successor to make sure that Stanley was seen off the earth the way he wanted. He handled the funeral exactly the way Stanley had wanted and said a final farewell to the amazing friend he had stumbled into in prison and in life. The lawyer was quick and efficient. In no time all the assets were transfered to Luthan and as soon as he sorted out everything there he returned back to his city. While Luthan had just inherited an insane amount of money, the Kings were not doing well at all. The investors they had managed to pull using Luthan's name had deserted them at the early stages and they were on thin ice.Luthan had a l
“Let's talk in my office,” Luthan said as his brother's voice faded off in the distance. Jordan's eyes brightened as he realized that Luthan was considering his proposal.“I'm going to cut to the chase,” Luthan said when they were in his office. “I'll accept your proposal,” he continued before the smile could settle on Jordan's face. “But I'll need your cooperation on a little something before we get things signed.”“What's that Mr. Luthan?” Jordan asked eagerly.“I need you to buy a company for me,” Luthan said. He adjusted on his seat and placed a hand under chin.“But Mr. Luthan, you buy companies on a daily basis.” Jordan said, obviously confused. “I want to buy a company but I don't want them to know that they have sold it to me,” Luthan said.“Ah,” Jordan's eyebrows rose slightly. “I see.”“I'll handle all the costs of the entire deal all I need from you is the signature of the owner of that company on the document. Do you think you are up to it?”“Of course,” Jordan Reigns smi
