Chapter 2

Seeing Adrian attempting to snatch the ring, Finn immediately pulled away he was enjoying seeing Adrain in such a situation and could not help but taunt him. but just then, the door flung open with Darcy the eldest daughter of the family stepping in to meet the scene that was about to unfold.

“What is going on here?” Darcy asked while her eyes scanned around the room and could feel the weight of their anger. This was the first time she had seen Adrian in such a situation and it made her more curious.

“Darcy good thing that you are back, after everything that I did for Adrian, took in such a freak even when no one else wanted him, the least that he could do was show a tiny bit of appreciation and yet he dares argue with me and even went as far as fighting over a worthless ring with your brother Finn”

Mrs. Eleanor went ahead to explain her side of the story so bitterly and after listening to her mother speak, Darcy turned to Adrian.

“Adrian that is totally wrong of you to act in such a manner, as a foster child, you dare not engage in such an argument with your mother, do you understand the effort that she put in raising you for the last eighteen years, you should be grateful for that because she has shown you so much kindness than you deserve, but instead, you go as far as trying to snatch a ring away from your brother, it is just a mere ring and you could always get another one”

She scolded him while she took authority as the eldest of the children. “Now go ahead and apologize to both Mother and Finn, that way you can continue to live here because we both know that you have nowhere else to go and instead of arguing with them, you should be apologizing”

Adrian stared at Darcy in disbelief, he could not believe the words that she said, there were times when she intervened in his behavior and pretended like she cared for him, but He was at the hospital for days and she never bothered to come check up on him neither did she inquire about his health the moment that she saw him. Now he could see her true colors and understood what her stance was.

For the Smith family, he was a nobody and should appreciate even the smallest kindness that they can show to him.

“I am not going to apologize to anyone, because I have not done anything wrong, I only want what is mine and I do not think that is a crime. I was in the hospital for days and all you all wished for was my death”

“What! Darcy, do you understand what I keep telling you about him all this while, he won't listen to you or anyone else, why should I come visit you at the hospital, isn't it enough that I have raised you and fed you for all these years!”

“I am your child, and no parent should brag about feeding a child with leftover meals because that is what you did all these years”

He expressed so coldly, that Eleanor opened her mouth to speak again, but she strutted and was left dumbfounded with his audacity.

“Adrain! Stop acting so tough, we all know that you are worthless without this family and if you should leave this house, you will have to beg on the street to survive, now go ahead and apologize to Mother, that is the only way that you can continue to stay in this house” Darcy persisted with her words.

Adrian took a few steps and was finally ready to leave, but Finn's words made him come to a halt. “You can go ahead and leave Adrian, all you are ever going to be is a freak and as for Kelly that you have been crushing on, she is now my girl” He bragged with a devious smirk on his lips, but Adrian did not seem bothered by his words.

“you can go ahead and have her, I never liked her in the first place, but I can assure you that someday, I am going to come back for my ring and when I do, you are definitely going to give it back to me”

Even though he spoke nonchalantly, there was a cold expression on his face as stormed out of the house.

“I regret adopting you and bringing you into my home because all that you have ever brought to me is discomfort and pain, I hope that you get what you deserve you low-life freak!!” Mrs. Eleanor went ahead to yell at the top of her even though Adrian had left.

“That is enough Eleanor! You have had enough and he is already gone. Finn, the birthday is over now, get ready so we can visit the Westley family and show our gratitude for their cooperation”

“Yes, father!” Finn nodded his head and hurried over to his room, but while Finn strode through the stairs, there was a chilling voice of a girl that sounded like a haunting whisper in the wind and yet they were so engrossed in their discussion that were consumed with rage that they had failed to notice this sound.

Once Adrian was away from the house, he strode over to the trash car and began searching for his clothes, the place was covered in dirt and it was difficult for anyone to endure the stench smell that was emanating from the trash can and yet Adrian went ahead to endure it as he finally found his clothes in the garbage.

He stared around trying to be certain that there was no one watching him and then he snapped his fingers as it created an audible sound just then, a stick made of Hollywood with a red feather on its end flew into his hands, Adrian's eyes had turned golden while he performed this and there was a surge of power around him.
