The Heir of Wesley Returns

Chapter 5

After flying for a while, they were finally arriving at the luxurious city villa. The Wesley family’s mansion is located in the villa area at the center of the city not to mention that it is the most elite neighborhood in the entire city.

Adrian stared down from the helicopter and was indeed amazed by the beautiful scenery, environment for him, this was indeed the most beautiful place that he had ever been to not to mention the fact that it was heavily guarded, housing the city’s most affluent people which was why the smith family desired so much to live there because they knew that if that was ever possible, then they would finally become members of the elites of the city.

“Adrian, before we get over to the mansion, I think that I need to explain to you everything that you need to know about the Wesley family. First, there is Grandpa Hallow, you have nothing to worry about because he is very kind and treats you like family. But then the family is large and very complicated, we have other uncles, aunties, and several cousins but everyone might not welcome you in the way that you desire”

“Thanks for letting me know about this Freya, I have always been looked down on by people, so it is no longer a surprise to me, I guess I can handle it”

“You are the heir to the Wesley cooperation, no one is going to dare bully you, but I just need you to be careful and expect the worst, because not everyone wants you back and some were hoping that you wouldn't come back, that way, they could become the heir to the family”

Oh! I see” he gave a sharp reply because he definitely understood what she meant.

“The Wesley Corp is operated by our father. He is the president of the company and once he retires, you will be taking over and I must say, Adrian, he will be so delighted to meet you”

“I can't wait” Adrian responded nervously, not knowing how he should react once he got there. He listens to his sister as she goes ahead to explain the economic strength of the company and no doubt that it is indeed a very large cooperation.

As the helicopter landed, a black Maybach was waiting for the three of them, they all three hopped in and drove over to a large estate and when they arrived, Adrian could not stop staring at his entire environment in bewilderment. But seeing that his sister’s friend Avery did not step out of the car, Adrian suddenly became concerned.

“Isn't she coming inside with us?” he asked and no doubt his sister Freya was now certain that he was interested in Avery, a tender smile spread through her lips before she responded.

“ no Adrian, Avery does not reside in this mansion, as I explained to you she is the daughter of one of the most powerful families in the city but not to worry, her estate is on the next villa and we can always go to visit her”

Freya explained and yet Adrian did not realize that she had misinterpreted his true intentions. For him, he was more curious about why he had been rejected by the holy light, and knowing how desperately he wanted to reach the 20th level of his cultivation, he knew that practicing with the holy light was going to make it go easy on him.

“Oh, okay” he gave a stern reply as he watched her instruct the driver to take her over to the next villa and even while the Maybach drove off, she had a soft smile on her tender face while they both waved at her.

Finally, they both scurried inside the estate where all members of the family were seated and were obviously waiting for their arrival. At first, they all stood staring at him blankly. They had all waited so long for this moment, but when he finally came in, everyone was staring at him like he wasn't what they had expected him to be.

“Adrian, this is Grandpa Hallow, and this is Daddy. Next to Dad is Uncle Sean, he used to be a famous actor but chose to retire. That is his wife Aunt Amelia and her kids and then there is Uncle Theo and his family too.”

While she did the introduction, her face was filled with a warm smile but Adrian did not fail to notice the look on some of their faces. Some had a look of curiosity while some that of disdain and even those that were trying to conceal their jealousy with a tight-lipped smile, somehow Adrian could tell.

He goes over and bows his head as he greets the elders with deep respect but just when he strides back to his seat, Aunt Beth walks up to him, a smile on her face and, he does not mind if the smile on her face were real or not.

“Hello Adrian, welcome back home to your family, I have prepared your room and I know how exhausted you are going to be, so you can go ahead and have some rest now”

She explained in a very polite tone, he nodded his head, no doubt that he needed to get away from all of the family even for a moment, but just when he was about to make a move, another voice came through.

“No! There is no way that he is allowed to make use of that room!” Her tiny voice echoed through the silence in the room and everyone was surprised as they all turned to stare at her. It was the last daughter of Uncle Theo who is very close to the foster child of the family Kelvin, and Sarah feels like his presence is going to cause Kelvin to lose his position at the company and because of that, she instantly despises him.

“Sarah, what are you saying?” Aunt Beth was indeed confused by her attitude and even while she asked, she was surprised.

“That room belongs to Kelvin, we all know that Kelvin makes use of that room for his puppet so why should it be taken away from him just because an intruder is here!”

She protested as the entire room went silent, no doubt that they were all indeed surprised by her attitude, and none of them could have seen it coming.
