The night shift workers in the hospital were already clocking in,as the day shift guys clocked out. How did time fly this fast. He has spent hours with Dr Suptra, Who seems to know all about him even before meeting him in person. It was time to retire for the night. He didn’t have a place to lay his head, After all the talks,he is back to his present reality. He is a homeless man,who has lost all he cared about to another man. How will he tell the good doc,he doesn’t have a place to sleep. Should he open up to him? “I bet you haven’t had anything to eat this evening,maybe we stop by a kings restaurant down the road, they make good meals.”Dr Suptra said to him. Surely he is in luck,he said to himself. How did the good doc know he was starving,he hasn’t had food for the past 48hrs. His life has been a roller coaster. The past few hours has been unpredictable. “Sure that will be good” he replied Dr Suptra. They took the lift down the tall building of the hospital. It is such an electrifying environment. San Jose memorial hospital was even a more beautiful edifice at night. The hallway was lined with lights like an airplane runway. Out behind the hospital complex,it is a large car park. He hasn’t seen such a streamline,flashy saloon car all his life. It’s an AMG Sl 350 mercedes-Benz classic hybrid edition car. The car came alive the moment they approached it. The engine reved up as the lights came on even before dr Suptra opened the driver’s door. This must be the newest of the versions Gill thought to himself. He loved cars but his predicaments let that vey passion die a natural death. Sitting in the passenger’s front sit the car interior was so cosy,the sits adjusted to his body. The sleek flat LCD screen in front of him showed the city map. He was still amazed inside this beauty of a car he found himself when they pulled over in front of kings restaurant. Funny he never wanted them to get here anytime soon. He was enjoying the gliding movement of this car,the low pitch jazz tune coming from all around him,the cool air on his skin ……he was having a time of his life. “Grab yourself something to eat”Dr Suptra said to Gill as he handed him the menu book on the table. One down,one more to go he thought to himself,He has taken a good meal,it was now where to lay his head for the night. Should he go to a government shelter or find a park were he could spend the night. He was pondering which to do when he was interrupted by the good doctor. “I learnt your house was foreclosed and resold by the government,do you have a place to stay? You have been carrying your suitcase all day,are you planning on lodging in some sort of shelter or you have a place you can stay over.”Dr Suptra asked him. “Yes,I have been in some sort of situation. I defaulted a bit on my mortgage,but I intend to pay up and get my apartment.Gill replied. Beautiful beach view behind,upscale features,heated floors,soaking tubes,with lush linen and towels,delux pillows and mattresses in the rooms,it was a spectacle. Gill liked the hotel,but it wasn’t what he needed at the moment,all he needed was a place to lay his head. This is luxury. The place is way beyond his class. “So give him any of the deluxe rooms I will pay with my card”Dr Suptra said to the receptionist. “Hold on” Dr Suptra.”Gill bellowed. “This is a little too much for me sir.” “No is not” the good doc replied. “I appreciate all you have done for me sir but i wouldn’t allow you pay $150 for a night for me,I rather get cheaper shelter. I think I have a place that suits what I think you want. I have this small apartment by the city side where I stay whenever I work late and I don’t want to spend the night at the hospital. You would like it. He took Gill to his getaway apartment by the city side. It was simple and exquisite,a two bedroom apartment all in suit. Similar to Gill’s apartment.it was simply furnished.
