Chapter seven

Peter tapped Mr. Thompson gently behind his right ear and then his left ear, twice. He began to massage it slowly, people standing around wondered why he was doing, especially the doctor that said he would kneel before him should he revive Mr. Thompson.

"What's this fool doing here, let him get out of here. He's only going to compound issues!" He moved forward to push Peter off the side of Mr. Thompson's bed but Lisa came up in front of him, standing on his way and giving him deadly stares.

"If you go near him again, I'll fight you!"

For Lisa to sound this way, they knew it was serious and all retreated.

"Why are you always bent on causing confusion here?" She talked back at him.

The doctor tried to avoid the gaze. Everyone's attention once returned to Peter and Mr. Thompson, when they watched his heartbeat and pulse, it was reversing back to normal.

The next moment Mr. Thompson was seated on his bed, calm and quite thoughtful.

"What's happening? What happened to me?" Peter was so glad seeing that his skills had worked here, he didn't even remember the promise the doctor who mocked him made.

Mr. Thompson was allowed to rest for a while by his daughter, Lisa who was his eldest child. Lisa's uncle dashed off the room with clear disappointment and anger on his face, he pretended to be picking a call and was angry because of whatever the person was saying. The fact was that he secretly hated his brother and came to kill him with the doctors he planned with, but his wish failed. He was jealous of him being Mr. Thompson.

When Mr. Thompson could finally stand up, he walked closer to Peter, who fell to his knees before him. He couldn't keep eye contact with Mr. Thompson.

"Please stand up! Rise! Who are you, young man?"

"I'll volunteer to speak for him," Lisa uttered with so much joy in her tone.

"He's the husband of the new managing director of the Williamson group. We got to know about him from his wife, so we decided to find and consult him today. His wife told me about his skills and his success in mental healing sometime ago. I didn't think we would need his services until now."

"We decided to do a thorough research on him, and found him worthy but some bunch of fools here didn't believe in it. A good example is your son," Lisa snarled at Joel.

"If I hadn't been quick enough to despise the doctors your younger brother brought and call him back after he was sent away, you'd have been a dead person by now."

"What? My brother was here? Shawn?" He demanded to know from Lisa. She nodded her head, wondering why he was really aggressive towards knowing his brother came to visit him.

"I'm coming, less I can't meet up on time, ask him. What's his name?" He wanted to know, as he patted Peter's arms.

"Peter," Lisa replied. Peter wondered why she just turned her speaker.

"Peter! What a great name. Ask him to meet me in the palace, where I'm staying."

"Alright, your majesty!" Before Lisa completed her statement, he had already dashed off the room. Lisa turned to the doctors with a gentle and repeated nod of head, she started clapping slowly in motion, then crossed her arms over her chest. She began to slowly walk towards them.

"Where's that senseless and sinister boss of yours? Has he escaped? Where's he escaping to?"

They were scared the more she approached them, wondering what she was going to do. All of a sudden, she turned and went towards her brother. He was clearly afraid but he tried his very best to put up his manly strength so that he wouldn't be laughed at especially by his sister.

Peter was watching as events were unraveling, he was speechless, couldn't say anything. He just left the senior member of the Atkin family to be challenging them, by this case they wouldn't be able to do Lisa anything.

“Mr Peter, I'm really glad and grateful to you for healing my dad, at least now he would return to his position.” Lisa took the medicinal drink which he gave her for his dad gratefully.

“Alright, I will be going now since there’s nothing else to do.” Peter got up to leave.

“Let me see you off.” Lisa got up as well.

“Lisa, what happens to the cerebral palsy diagnosed by the doctors here?” Joel interjected.

“Yes, I remember something now. Dr. Ferry talked about kneeling before Peter and calling him sir should he be able to heal dad. Now dad is healed, don't you think he should…… "

"No, I don't think that's necessary. Sometimes you don't need to mind the foolish actions of people!"

This was a great slap in the face to the particular doctor and his colleagues. Lisa couldn't help but grin, trying at the same time to compose herself while the doctors went into serious frowning.

At this moment, on the lower floors of the same hospital room, there was chaos unfolding.

“Mom! How could that poor, foolish guy hit me and nothing is done? We have to teach him a lesson!”

Cynthia was twisting his body in pains on the bed, breathing so hard. He was covered with bandages and plasters on various points on his body.

“Don’t worry, we will get him arrested and tortured after all, he wouldn't be with Lisa all the times." Vivian assured her son.

“Mrs. Vivian, isn't it so wicked that Peter had the nerve to physically assault both of you, I mean he doesn't have any respect!” A handsome young man dressed in a suit spoke up. This was Mary's current love interest who was the eldest son of the Johnson family, one of the richest in the state who dealt with beauty and cosmetics.

“Roland, you wouldn’t believe it. That asshole went mad and hit my son like a maniac. No one could stop him!” Vivian gnashed her teeth.

“Really? Probably he's gone insane before!" Roland frowned. This made Vivian burst out laughing. “I know some hired rugged boys who can teach him a lesson. May I help you out, mum?"

“Oh, that would be lovely of you!” Vivian grinned sinisterly.

“Roland , make sure they knock some sense into his skull. Fracture a bone or two!” Cynthia snarled in anger still on the bed.

“Sure thing. I assure you, he will be a living corpse after we are done with him!” Cynthia laughed maliciously.

To be honest, Peter’s marriage to Mary had bothered him long ago. How was it possible that a poor, useless fellow like him could have such a beautiful and classic lady as his wife? Roland was gonna use this as a reason to get angry with him and get revenge.

“Bro, how are your injuries?” Mary asked as she came to see her brother from her office. She was dressed in a slinky black dress that showed off her voluptuous curves. Upon sighting her, Roland's eyes brightened with radiance and lust. She smiled at him, walking sexily over to him and giving him a hug.

“Mary, you’re finally here! Look at how badly hurt that foolish ex-husband of yours hurt me, why did you even marry such a lunatic?" Mary couldn't help but swallow the lump in her throat.

“Alright, Peter told me what happened and apologized over the phone. Let’s forget about it and move on,” Mary lied just so they would think at least he lowered himself and to please them.

“Forget about it?” Cynthia snapped. "No, that's not possible, sis!" His voice was raised in anger and disappointment.

“Well, what do you want?”

“I want him to kneel before me in public, same place he beat me up, at the park and beg for forgiveness!”

“He is still your brother-in-law. Don’t make such a dramatic request,” Mary frowned.

“Are you kidding me, after you guys just got divorced?"

“Regardless of what happened, we were once family. Besides, you are partly to blame. You triggered his anger, I know him well, if you'd let him go his way, he wouldn't touch you!”

“Mary, why are you taking his side? What did I even do wrong? I only wanted to challenge him over your head!” He snapped angrily, feeling Mary to be ungrateful.

“What? Who asked you?" Mary frowned.

“You’re really asking for a beating!”

When Mary learned of this, she was furious. After everything that had happened, she finally understood why Peter would beat Cynthia up. Other people might not have stood his side as family but Mary did otherwise.

If she could divorce him but he didn't want any money from her, she could see the great integrity he had, so he wasn't someone to be treated so badly, at least he would have been left alone by his mother and brother to go his way.

“I’ll deal with the both of you soon!” She threatened out of anger and left the room.

Mary didn’t bother to argue and left immediately. She didn’t have the energy to quarrel with her spoilt brother and unreasonable mother. Moreover, in her haste, they hurt Peter which made him do that.

Even she, was now regretting it……
