CHAPTER 3

"No, I don't agree with you going alone to meet that man," Morgan said from the side, seeming to hide his concern.

Lyndsey stared at him sharply, ignoring him, then said to her secretary, "Meet at Hotel Frost, okay. Tell Mr. Torrent that I can meet him tonight. Yes, I'll be back in Vanguard City now."

Knowing that Lyndsey would meet Mr. Torrent at Hotel Frost, a top-class hotel in Vanguard City, their hometown, Morgan became even more upset, staring at Lyndsey firmly.

After a few more words, the phone call between Lyndsey and her secretary ended.

"Listen to me, don't go to meet Mr. Torrent," Morgan said again anxiously, trying to convince Lyndsey not to go to meet Mr. Torrent.

What people might know is that Mr. Torrent is just a wealthy and successful man with a very good background, but as a soldier with little previous connections, he knows very well what Mr. Torrent is really like.

The man is a womanizer, he often manipulates and even rapes women. After demeaning these women, he would discard them as if they were damaged goods that were no longer of use and should be removed from his sight.

Because of his wealth and influence, Mr. Torrent always gets away with accusations. No matter how many people report him, he is never arrested. And his name is always good among outsiders.

So when Morgan heard that the man wanted to meet Lyndsey, he knew it wasn't a good thing.

But who is Lyndsey? She is the person who dislikes Morgan the most, so how could she listen to him? Especially since Mr. Torrent is a far better man than her nominal husband, they cannot be compared.

With sarcasm, Lyndsey asked, "Tell me, why should I listen to you? What right do you have to control me?"

"Because..." Morgan suddenly fell silent, how could he explain it? Whatever his explanation was, it wouldn't make the woman trust him. So, he continued half-heartedly, "Just listen to what I say."

Hearing that, Lyndsey laughed mockingly. "You don't even have confidence in what you say."

Then she gathered her belongings and prepared to leave.

Morgan sighed deeply, he didn't know why there were people as stubborn as Lyndsey, who repeatedly tested his patience. What's more surprising, he had endured this far!

With a long sigh and a hint of undisguised concern, Morgan said, "Mr. Torrent is not a good person. So don't go to meet him, or if you insist, then I'll go with you."

At that point, Lyndsey stared at him again in confusion, but quickly turned it into a mocking expression.

"Heh, someone like you, who knows nothing, dares to say that Mr. Torrent is not a good person, what a joke. You are the bad person. You took advantage of me when I was drunk, you're also worthless, and most importantly, you don't understand business."

Lyndsey put on her heels and said again, "Don't interfere in my affairs! You know nothing about business because you're just a worthless person who has no ambition or desire, one day I will end our relationship and get rid of you."

After saying that, Lyndsey left without looking back, leaving Morgan, who muttered, "She doesn't even have 10,000, yet dares to say Mr. Torrent isn't a good person."

Morgan stared at her departure, gritting his teeth.

"Tsk, that woman..." he grumbled angrily. "I don't care what happens to her with other men, I won't care about her!"

He tried to calm himself until he remembered something. Immediately, he ran out quickly, rushing to the parking lot only to see the car driven by Lyndsey speeding past him, leaving him behind once again.

"Goddamn, I'm truly abandoned by her!" He kicked the air in frustration and cursed his unlucky fate.

His face was now familiar to some hotel staff who happened to see what happened. They had their own guesses, but when he turned his gaze towards them, they quickly averted their faces as if they hadn't seen the earlier joke.

"Tsk, I don't care what happens to that woman, even if... Shit!"

No matter how much he tried to pretend not to care, he remembered the advice given by Mr. Brown, Lyndsey's father, about taking care of his daughter well, and he was worried himself.

From Emberford city to Vanguard city required a 3-hour drive by car, it was already 10 o'clock. After resting and various other needs, Lyndsey would likely go to the meeting place with Mr. Torrent at 7 or 8 in the evening.

There was still enough time for Morgan to catch up, but the problem was, he needed his own car to go back, not public transportation that could slow him down.

He gritted his teeth and pulled out his phone, dialing a number not saved, but memorized, then calling.

Not long after, the call connected, a familiar and emotional voice sounded.

"Young Master, is this you?" the other party asked.

Morgan grunted in response, which made the man on the other end of the call excited.

"Oh my goodness, Young Master, I'm relieved you finally contacted me! You have no idea how anxious I've been waiting for your call day by day? You truly made me sad! Oh, Young Master, are you alright?"

Silently, Morgan breathed a sigh of relief after the rant was over, he brought the phone back to his ear and said nonchalantly, "I'm in Emberford City, help me arrange a car to return to Vanguard City. Also, please find out the latest situation about Mr. Torrent."
