Lydia’s eyes widened in shock, her face reddening with anger. “What?!” she exclaimed, her voice shrill. “How could you even suggest such a thing, Harrison? Rhys is barely gone, and you’re already naming a new heir?”

Christopher, who had been quietly observing the exchange, spoke up, a smug smile spreading across his face. “Ah, come now, Lydia. Don’t be so dramatic. It’s just that someone has be the heir of the family.”

Lydia’s eyes flashed with anger, and she snapped her fingers. In an instant, a group of masked men emerged from the shadows, their movements swift and silent. They restrained Christopher, holding him in place as Lydia’s anger boiled over.

“How dare you speak to me like that?” she hissed, her voice low and deadly. “You’ll show some respect, or you’ll suffer the consequences.”

Alessandro watched the scene unfold, his eyes narrowing in concern. He knew his wife’s temper, and he knew that Christopher’s rudeness had been a mistake.
