CHAPTER TWO

Daisy chuckled, "Regret? What's there to regret? I've got nothing to lose. Don't act like you're something special, Franklin. I know who you are, just a poor delivery guy! Now get out of here!" She taunted.

"This is why I said it'd be fun," Richmond laughed, "A naive poor guy thinks a pretty girl would stick with him for life." He jeered, "But he'd never know the good time I had with his girl while he was off delivering food, thinking she'd marry him. Your food's good, but your girl tastes better."

Daisy playfully slapped Richmond's shoulder, "You're terrible!" Her voice sounded timid, but her actions spoke otherwise as she hugged him from behind.

Richmond remarked, "I heard you've never slept with Daisy. Too bad bro, you'll never know how good she is in bed."

Franklin felt his fists clench again and his teeth grit as irritation flooded him.

"Thinking of fighting him, delivery boy? Just leave. You'd be in trouble if you touched him. He's rich, you're poor, that's the difference!" Daisy mocked.

Suppressing his anger, Franklin knew fighting wasn't wise in that situation.

"Just go, I'm going to enjoy my time with your girl! Hahaha!" Richmond laughed and slammed the door shut.

Hearing their laughter, Franklin left, smiling bitterly, "I was too naive."

Daisy Bernard had introduced Franklin Miles to her family, they seemed to like him and accepted him. However, they soon began to take advantage of his good nature, turning him into their errand boy and making him run all sorts of errands for them.

They told him that he would have to serve the family through his years of college, and only then could he marry their daughter. He had served her family for several years only to discover that Daisy and her family had been using him.

As Franklin walked into the lounge, security men intercepted him, demanding to know his purpose there.

"What are you doing here, beggar?" one of them gruffly asked.

"Just minding my own business," Franklin replied, trying to maintain his composure.

"Minding your business? In a fancy place like this? Don't make us laugh," another security guard taunted.

Franklin felt his irritation rising but tried to keep his cool. "I have every right to be here as long as I'm not causing any trouble."

"Right, and I'm the king of England," the first guard scoffed. "You're just a delivery guy. What business could you possibly have here?"

Before Franklin could respond, another security guard chimed in, "Maybe he's here to steal the silverware or sneak some drinks."

Franklin's fists clenched at the insinuation. "I'm not a thief! I have as much right to be here as anyone else."

"Sure you do, buddy," the second guard sneered. "But we don't want any pick pockets in here. Time for you to leave."

Franklin tried to resist, but before he knew it, the security men grabbed him roughly and pushed him out of the Golden Gate Hotel, treating him like a common criminal.

After he was unceremoniously thrown out onto the street, Franklin couldn't help but feel humiliated and betrayed. "I will return!" He muttered bitterly to himself, realizing just how unwelcome he was.

Walking to the street, he took out the ring, staring at it for a while. It used to mean a lot, but not anymore. The more he looked, the angrier he felt about what happened. Giving it one last glance, he tossed it into the drainage.

Franklin thought for a moment before he dialed a number. “Hello!”

"How did it go, young master?" Mr. Russell inquired.

In a tense silence, only the sound of waves filled the air. Franklin took a deep breath and replied.

"Dad was right. That lady isn't right for me. I lost her," he said calmly.

"What happened?" Mr. Russell asked again.

"Well, I found her in a hotel room with a rude man who planned it all. And what did she do? She sneered, broke up with me, and insulted me like I was nothing," he explained, clearly reluctant to share more. ”Women only care about money," Franklin added sadly.

"Don't say that. Just because she's a bad egg doesn't mean there aren't good ones out there. You just had bad luck with her," Mr. Russell reassured him, noticing his lack of interest in the topic.

Mr. Russell felt relieved. Finally, Franklin would take over the family business as the new CEO. Franklin had refused initially, wanting a normal life and a woman who loved him for who he was, not his wealth.

Franklin's father eventually confronted him about this, expressing his disapproval. He warned Franklin that Daisy didn't deserve him.

Franklin had dismissed his father's concerns, thinking he was just trying to discourage him from pursuing his own path and taking over the company.

His father was really mad when Franklin mentioned marrying Daisy. "If you propose to her, you won't inherit anything from this family, and you won't get any of my will," he had warned.

Luckily, Franklin discovered what kind of person Daisy truly was today. He smiled to himself knowing his father's warnings weren't in vain.

“Your account will be activated in no time!” Mr. Russell continued, "You're still the heir to your family's wealth, so come to the office tomorrow so we can introduce you as the new CEO," he said.

Franklin smiled. He had wanted to prove that love mattered more than money. But he realized he was mistaken. Just then, his phone beeped with a message: ‘Your bank account has been activated and your available balance is $100,000,000,000!’

“I need you to do one more thing for me.”

“Of course. What can I do for you?”

“I want you to buy the Golden Gate Hotel.”

“The Golden Gate Hotel? Are you sure?”

“Yes, I'm sure. I want it bought under my name.”

“Understood. I'll make the arrangements right away.”

“And make sure it's done discreetly. I don't want anyone knowing until it's too late.”

“Consider it done.”

Just like that, Franklin Miles bought the Golden Gate Hotel overnight.
