Adam, with his eyebrows drawing together, watched her as she left and didn't hesitate as he stood and quickly collected his card back from the confused waiter with a nod of thanks, ignoring every other person and quickly followed Mira outside,

He found her standing by her car, a sleek, luxurious model that shone under the streetlights. Her hands were clasped tightly in front of her, knuckles white, as she wriggled her fingers,

"Miss, talk to me. What happened?"

Adam asked, keeping his voice calm while maintaining strong eye contact, and drawing closer to her.

She turned to him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, as she struggled to speak past the lump in her throat,

"I-it's my daughter,"

She managed to say, her voice breaking, she shut her eyes tightly to rid the tears, and opened them again, before sighing deeply,

"Her condition... it's gotten worse. I need to go to her."
