Chapter thirty-eight:

At Melissa's home, she and her mom are examining the documents that Max Xanderson just delivered to her.

"Mom, do you still think delivering these bidding qualifications to Lady Megan Stevens would be a good idea?"

Melissa's voice was barely above whispers as they all gazed through the documents.

"Melissa, this isn't a matter to be negotiated, just call your grandmother and tell her that you have the bidding qualifications."

"I just hope she is telling the truth about returning the Walters Enterprise to us."

Mrs Sophia's voice was barely above whispers as she muttered to herself.

"What was that mom?"

Melissa Stevens immediately asked her mom, her eyebrows furrowed in bewilderment and curiosity.

"It's nothing, I was just saying that you should get across to Lady Megan Stevens and tell her that you have what she asked for."

Her voice was barely above whispers as she told a half-truth in relation to what she truly said.

Moments later, Melissa is in her bedroom calling Lady Megan Stevens.
