Chapter 8

Elliot raised one hand calmly. "Wait a moment." He again tried to make the payment digitally, but the network inside his phone was still interrupted.

"Ouch, this bastard still won't get out of the way." Visibly annoyed, a slightly built man in a sports singlet pushed Elliot aside. "That's it, I'll get served first. I'm in a hurry." The man named Clay broke through the queue and pointed at one of the menus. "Cappuccino ice less sugar one."

The waitress behind the counter raised her hands hesitantly. "Sorry, sir. You can't go ahead like this before this gentleman finishes his payment."

The waitress pointed to Elliot as a code for the man to finish the payment faster because, honestly, the waitress also felt annoyed, and her work was interrupted because of Elliot's delay in paying the order.

"Yes, my goodness. I'm sure this guy doesn't have any money. He's just saying that his digital payment app is having problems." Alexa snorted in annoyance, looking at Elliot sharply. "If you don't have any money, you shouldn't have ordered a drink, you idiot!"

"No, it's not. It's just a problem." Elliot was still calm in response to their words. He showed his digital payment app to the coffee shop waitress.

The waitress nodded her head. "Well, maybe your provider's card network has a problem."

Although the waitress understood what Elliot was going through, she also couldn't keep letting it happen, and of course, the queue was getting longer, which annoyed the other customers.

"Ah, you're annoying us by wasting time waiting for you." Clay again pushed Elliot's shoulder to get over and out of the line. "Already, let this coffee be for me."

The annoyed Clay immediately grabbed Elliot's 1 cup Americano order on the table and sucked it as a form of ownership. He grabbed his wallet and pulled a few 10-dollar bills onto the counter.

"I paid for it, and this drink is mine." Clay showed his displeased face to Elliot. He moved his index finger in front of the waitress's face. "And you, make me a cappuccino with less sugar and make it for my girlfriend too."

The waitress was silent, looking at Elliot and the couple in front of her confusedly because she couldn't make Clay's order. At the same time, Elliot still had Clay's order. Of course, it violated the work procedures at the coffee shop where she worked.

"I'm sorry, but you can't act like that." The waitress hesitantly explained to Clay.

"Damn it. It's useless that guy won't be able to pay." Clay kicked the table, causing everyone to immediately settle in their direction. "Hey, you!" He pointed at Elliot in annoyance. "If you can't pay the digital way, pay the other way. Don't make us wait like this."

"Ah, never mind. I'm sure that you don't have any money." Alexa raised two eyebrows while folding her arms in front of her chest, showing a look of disdain for Elliot. "There, just get out of the way!"

The waitress became even more flustered after the other patrons also joined in shouting for Elliot to get out of the line, which made the atmosphere even more crowded with commotion.

Not wanting to be a troublemaker, Elliot exhaled, finally stepping aside while raising both hands. "Alright, go ahead."

Alexa snorted in annoyance, looked away from Elliot, and quickly waited for her order to be made by the cafe shop's waitress. The line behind Alexa began to advance, looking sarcastically at Elliot and the people behind her who seemed to have been annoyed since before.

The waitress looked at Elliot, still hesitant to serve the next customer, but also had to carry out the work procedures as they should. After all, Elliot had allowed his queue to be preceded by others.

Elliot looked at the woman at the cash register. "Sorry, I'll take my card to the car first."

The woman behind the counter nodded, and Elliot walked away from there, of course bringing attention from everyone.

Hearing that, Clay immediately turned to look at Elliot with a slight grin. "Alah, so pretentious. I'll bet he won't be back here again. He ran away because he was embarrassed."

"Yeah, that's for sure." Alexa chuckled, mocking Elliot. "He's got a big mouth, pretending he wants to get a card from the car to hide his shame when he doesn't even have a card, let alone a car."

Everyone who heard that laughed. Meanwhile, Elliot pulled over to the side of the road, a little way from the cafe shop, to call Dony. He should have taken the waiter's word for it to bring the Card because it turned out that he couldn't make digital payments at a time like this when his cell phone network was down.

"Yes, Master. Is there something going on?" Dony immediately picked up the phone call from Elliot when he saw his cell phone screen light up.

"Can you come here with my Black card?" Elliot cast his eyes around and looked at the coffee board. "At Sakura's Coffee Shop."

Dony happily nodded his head. "Yes, Master."

Their phone connection was severed, and Dony hurried to the coffee shop not far from the Rodriguez family home. Five minutes later, a black car pulled up right in front of Elliot, and the heavily bearded man got out of the vehicle, bowing his body respectfully.

"This is your Black card, Master." Dony held out the shoulder blade to Elliot.

Elliot took the card from Dony's hand. "Thank you." He immediately turned around and left Dony.

The bearded man smiled happily that his master was willing to use the black card Marcus gave. He got back into the car after his master disappeared.

Elliot immediately went back into the coffee shop, which made the people there look at him cynically.

"Wow, he dares to come back here." The comments of the people in the coffee shop again sounded noisy.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Clay, still in the coffee shop, raised his eyebrows, glaring at Elliot.

Elliot turned his head casually. "I want to pay for my drink."

The people there could only shake their heads while Clay, who had clearly taken Elliot's drink, chuckled, getting up from his chair with an arrogant face.

"It's useless for you to come here. Do you want to embarrass yourself by trying to make a digital payment again?" Clay raised one hand while condescendingly raising an eyebrow. "Then you'll make the same excuse as before?"

The people there again laughed mockingly at Elliot. Of course, they witnessed firsthand how difficult it was to pay at the cashier's desk. Not even one of the people there was on his side.

Elliot ignored them and headed straight to the counter, casually handing over his black card. "I'll have another Americano, pay with this."

Clay and Alexa, who happened to be at a table close to the cashier, became curious and even raised their heads to look at the cashier where Elliot was standing.

"This time, he will make a payment using what? Money? Card?" Alexa laughed, then waited for the drink in her cup again.

The waitress behind the counter looked at Elliot skeptically. "I'm sorry, but this can't be used as payment."

Of course, that made everyone there burst out laughing. "Oh my, is he paying with a card for rides? Or is the card he's using an identification card?"

A ripple of laughter filled the room of the cafe shop, which wasn't as spacious as the usual cafe, which suddenly made the atmosphere noisy again.

"He's trying to fool the cashier here." Clay patted his thigh quite hard because he felt funny about what Elliot did. "He thought he could pay with his ID. How lame."

Elliot exhaled softly, trying to remain calm in front of everyone. He looked at the rude waiter with a furrowed brow. "Why can't you pay with this?"

As Dony had said, Elliot now thought the Black card could not be used for shopping. Of course, he felt that because it was his first time using the card, he couldn't even tell if it was an actual card, but it seemed impossible if it was a fake card.

The cashier's desk waitress smiled, handing Elliot's card. "Because you have a spending limit of 500,000 dollars, sir."
