Without another word, Joseph reached out and grabbed Scrappy by the throat, lifting him clean off the ground with a single hand.

Gasps erupted from the surrounding thugs. Eyes wide, they instinctively stepped back, startled by the sheer display of strength.

Was this guy even human?

Scrappy wasn’t a small man—at 5'10" and about 80 kilograms, he wasn’t exactly easy to pick up. Yet Joseph held him aloft with effortless ease, one-handed.

"His strength… it’s terrifying."

Heidi whispered, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"Gah! Let me go! You’re killing me!"

Scrappy gasped for air, struggling to pry Joseph’s hand from his throat. His face turned crimson, and each word was a battle to get out.

"If this were three years ago, you’d already be dead."
