12. A black Range Rover SV

"I was," He replied with a sigh, if only Ellen had stayed back with him, she would partake in the luxury of his current life.

"You had a family, with a child?" Amy asked, leaving the door and walking back to where he was seated.

"No, I don't have a child yet, she left me recently, apparently, she saw someone better, but it doesn't matter anyway." He replied, hoping his newfound mother would drop the topic, but she didn't.

"You loved her?" She asked and Oscar thought about it for a while, he loved her, and after she chose to be foolish, and leave with someone else, he still loved her. She was his wife after all, and the memories of the blissful two years they'd spent together were still fresh.

He was upset but didn't hate her entirely, he was disappointed but did not condemn her, but one thing Oscar wasn't going to do, was get back with her. After he had torn the divorce paper, he wanted to file for another divorce to bring the union to an end.

He was quite aware that if Ellen saw him now, she wouldn't hesitate to apologise and try to get back with him, and to Oscar, that wasn't love, he would feel used and stupid, so he had no choice but to let it go.

"I'm sorry that happened to you, I'm very sure when she sees you now, she will regret it," Amy uttered with a sigh.

"Maybe," Oscar retorted. He contemplated on whether or not to tell her that his wife would be at the meeting on Thursday with a new boyfriend, but after a quick thought, he kicked against it.

If there was anything he had learned about women over the years, is that the best way to make a woman keep a secret was to not tell her a secret at all.

"Don't worry, there are still women out there, I'm sure you will find someone better, " Amy assured her son before leaving the room to give him a chance to get ready.

Once she was gone, Oscar finished his breakfast and soon, he called Leo to tell him that he was ready to go. It was just their first meeting as a boss, and certainly, he was anxious, especially since he had no idea what kind of people he would meet.

As for what would be discussed, he didn't worry so much, the document from last night gave him basic information, and having worked with a similar firm, but on a smaller scale, Oscar was certain that it wouldn't go so badly.

When he stepped out of the car, Leo ushered Oscar into his car. A black Range Rover SV, with a well-suited driver. Oscar sat in the back seat with Leo, while the driver sat in front with one well-armed military man.

For a man who has never dreamt about being in such a luxurious car, Oscar had no idea what type of car it was or its cost, and he knew that it was just one of the many cars they had at the garage.

As they drove off, three other cars followed them, one in front and two from behind, and out of curiosity, he asked Leo,

"Are they all going to the same place, I didn't think we would be this many."

"Oh sir," Leo smiled,

"They are all your bodyguard, each car with two military men. The one behind us is not technically a bodyguard car, the inside has been redesigned to look like an ambulance, with a registered nurse and a doctor at all times."

As he explained these things, Oscar struggled to keep his mouth closed. The information was jaw-dropping, and for a moment he felt like the son of the president.

"I see," He uttered with when he finally found his voice, he had made up his mind to remain composed no matter what he experienced because it was only the beginning.

"I must thank the chief for being so greedy," he thought to himself.

The drive to the office took less than twenty minutes, and Oscar was able to enjoy the daytime view of Axel City. It was beautiful and organised, towering skyscrapers, and a neat environment.

He almost couldn't take his eyes off every car he saw on the road, it was all the evidence he needed to tell that Axel City was built for billionaires and not just any random person who thinks they are wealthy.

All cars had tinted windows, some were so tinted that it would be considered illegal in some parts of West Arcadia, but that's how far these people go to keep their boss away from public view, it was even hard to tell which car the boss is in when it's being accompanied by numerous cars in front and behind.

When they arrived at the parking lot, Oscar marvelled at the building. A twelve-story building covered in tinted glasses all around. He could already imagine what the inside would look like because when it comes to exotic exteriors, the Slytherins were known to have the upper hand.

"The bodyguard will direct you to the conference room, sir, I will join you shortly after I've received the project outline from the project manager at the other building." It was when Leo said this, that Oscar realized that there were two buildings, he couldn't help but wonder how many employees worked in this place.

"Alright," He replied and got out of the car

Accompanied by four body guards all dressed in the back suits, dark shades and earplugs that let them communicate, Oscar headed toward the entrance of the building.

He slowed down when he got close to the door, and one of the guards took the lead. The automatic door slid open to let them in, but at the same time, a young man walked out, and Oscar's eyes widened in shock as he saw who it was.

"Wades?" He uttered.
