“What are you talking about?” Marlon quickly denied. “I never proposed to you. I don’t even know you.”

“Hmph, just because you deny it, it doesn’t become the truth!” Irene snorted at him. She poured coffee and then sat down next to Jessica. “Men really are men. They think of women as nothing but tools that can be used and thrown away.”

“M-Miss, I think you’re mistaken about me,” Marlon couldn’t sit straight. “You’re definitely good-looking, but I really don’t know you.” He didn’t want Jessica’s perspective on him to be affected by this stranger.

“It seems at least your eyes are still working since you can see that I’m beautiful,” Irene sipped on the coffee before the other could. “However, that doesn’t erase the bad things you’ve done to me.”

“B-Bad things? Now, you’re pushing it,” Marlon’s voice contained a bit of anger and frustration.

“Are you saying you’ve done not a single bad thing in your life?” Irene asked. “Not even when you were drunk? Do you expect me to believe that?”
