Tom returned home hours after he had left, only to see Russell talking with the same girl that had come the other day. Tom put the gun box away and smiled, “How are you doing, miss?”

“I’m not doing good because a glass piece in your yard had pierced my foot,” Jessica purposely said these words to prick his heart. “Now, I’m not even in a position to go home. Is it alright if I stay here at your house?”

“I-I’m so sorry that you got hurt,” Tom quickly said, “but… how can you stay here alone where two men live? We’re not even your relatives.”

“It’s okay. This guy is my best friend,” Jessica said, secretly pinching Russell’s thigh.

“Y-Yeah, teacher. Since we’re not using the tuition hall right now, I think she can stay there,” Russell suggested, while rubbing his thigh.

“Ah, that’s a good idea,” Tom gave her a thumbs-up. “You can stay here until your wound heals. Don’t worry about meals because Russell is good at cooking.”
